Day 5 : Earlier this week, I styled my hair into two flat twists for the week. In my post "how to create a routine/regimen" I mentioned the importance of low manipulation, basically leaving the hair alone. This style allowed me to leave mine alone. To all those that use this brand of "natural hair" care products #Repost @organicbunny with @repostapp ・・・ Green washing- When a brand purposely tries to market themselves as pure, clean + natural, despite knowingly being full of toxins and irritants 🚨 In most green washing cases, you will see brands focus on one or two “natural” terms, usually bolding or enlarging those words to trick your brain quickly. I don't know about you, but I don't appreciate when brands actively engage in deceptive behavior, all at our expense! Check out this brand {Organix} as a perfect example and tag a friend to share this info! . Here you see the words “Nourishing Coconut Milk” which makes you think ahh, I am choosing something hydrating and soothing for my scalp by a brand called Organix, it must be great! However, if you take a closer look at the ingredients, you will quickly see that this brand is anything but a good choice! 🤔 . Not only does this duo contain synthetic fragrances which often disrupt our hormones, it also contains {DMDM Hydantoin}, a formaldehyde releasing agent which can cause eczema flare ups, itchy scap, allergic reactions + more. This line also contains synthetically altered coconut oil which is pretty ironic as their star ingredient is often coconut milk!? 😒 . The conditioner then contains {Cyclotetrasiloxane} which is toxic to reproduction. Lastly, it contains {Methylisothiazolinone} which is another irritant that can lead to dandruff, scalp irritations, eczema + more! .
