i finally got to visit my uni! the last time i went here was when my brother enrolled, and he graduated now. we had orientation activities for sophomores and juniors, as they’re the batch that was affected by the two years of the pandemic.

funny enough, i chose this university not because of the course, not because of any ambition, nor because of its rich history… but simply because i heard that it had one of the best university libraries in the country. (don't worry, i am extremely happy with my choice now, because i grew and learned so much as a student and english major in such a short amount of time)

if there’s one thing you should know, it is that the philippines have little to no public libraries. it absolutely hurts me to see so much malls, cafés, resorts, parks and other leisurely infrastructures around the country, but the only accessible library to all are the ones near the capitols… and to be honest, the technology still hasn’t been quite up to par.

but aside from the library and rich history, my uni is absolutely stunning. i can totally imagine myself sobbing through my thesis paper but i’d still feel a sense of calm because of how pretty the campus is.

i still do not have face-to-face classes, unfortunately. but i’m happy to have met my friends and blockmates, and to have been part of the homecoming walk in the arch of the centuries!

intially, i was supposed to vlog about the welcome walk and roarientation. but it’s been dangerous in and out of campus, we left home early but i arrived late due to traffic (i live two hours away), and there was a typhoon so it was raining so hard that all of us went home with our clothes soaked to the bone.

it’s officially first day of junior year! i decided to mod my mechanical keyboard just a little bit since i’ll be stuck doing brief notes and mini research throughout the school year. i just got new keycaps and changed the stock brown switches to ktt kang white switches. yes, i am in love with how it types.

i’m also a bit intimidated about uni. even if i’m an academic achiever with above-average grades, one of the things i struggle the most with is research. my professors made it clear today that almost all of my major (and minor) outputs will rely on us creating individual mini articles and papers. oh joy. it means i need to work extra hard!
