Top: Light Sentence installation for Hammer Museum. Artist: Laddie John Dill, Exhibition: Living Apart Together 2017
Bottom: Light Sentences exhibited at the Minnesota Street Projects atrium. I used a forklift to install the Light Sentences up 20- 50 feet. We made wooden boards and painted them grey, attached them to the steel pillars using industrial rubber bungee straps to tightly secure them on. The Light Sentences were then held by clips that were screwed onto the board. Transformers used for this installation were hidden on the upper structural beams of the loft. Each Light Sentence carries electrodes on each end which are wired and connected to their corresponding transformer.
Quite a process, but my favorite type of installation. Careful, gentle and precise work.

Installation for artist Laddie John Dill exhibited at Themes & Projects Gallery part of the Minnesota Street Projects art collective in San Francisco. Exhibition: Contained Radiance: San Francisco
Glass sheets placed onto a wooden platform, precut with insets. 7 + tons of various sands and gravel to add texture and color to the sculpture was poured slowly onto the glass and prefabricated platform. 50 pound bags at a time. Glass tubing with argon gas is installed inside the wooden platform. The sand acts as a carrier for the light to reach the glass, pretty cool!

Wooden bracket system is used for installation. Each piece is made with a 2-inch inset that is fitted onto 2 inch-width wooden brackets screwed onto a wall. Extra security is added by either placing earthquake tape alongside the top of wooden brackets and/or (depending on weight) by screwing in place the piece onto the wooden brackets.
