It’s so funny how people forget what certain dog breeds were bred for. A dachshund named Valerie has been marooned on a remote part of Kangaroo Island since she ran away from a campsite in 2023 and everyone in the comments was like “that is the last dog breed I would expect to survive on its own for 500 days”. Hmm. I don’t know if it’s just me and I’ve met absolute freak dachshunds my entire life but they’re tenacious little motherfuckers with an incredible prey drive. I’m more worried about the critically endangered endemic Kangaroo Island dunnart population than I am Valerie. No large predators, several species of small mammal, temperatures consistently between 55° and 75°? She’s the queen of the island now. All small marsupials quake at the sound of her footsteps.

I haven’t seen Captain America Brave New World yet (I was on campus and I couldn’t get to a theatre and I don’t have Disney + and I’m not on my computer it’s a whole thing), but one of the criticisms I’ve heard is that it’s more focused on Red Hulk than Sam (which yeah definitely sucks because fuck Ross) but it does prove Sam truly is Captain America because he’s continuing Steve’s legacy of getting a movie in his series that is not really focused on him (civil war I’m looking at you 👀)

johnny storm's heart was so evident in this movie. he was seconds away from sacrificing his life for sue and reed's baby not once but TWICE in this film. no questions asked. it was instinct. when he told silver surfer to take him and not the baby, a part of me died but also came to life because we finally have a live action johnny storm that unabashedly shows his true heart behind his stereotypical arrogant, funny guy exterior. i love johnny storm.
