In what can only be described as a legendary moment for the Astro Boy franchise, two of the most prominent voice actors for Atom/Astro met up for the first time ever at San Diego Comic-Con 2025!

On July 26, 2025, Mari Shimizu ( Atom from the 1963 and 1980 Astro Boy anime, and other 1960s-1980s Astro Boy media ) and Candi Milo ( Astro from the 2004 American dub of the 2003 Astro Boy anime ) met for the very first time in a panel called "Cartoon Voices 1" in which the voice actors for classic cartoons ( and one anime in Astro Boy! ) discussed their memories with the shows they were involved with.
