Unless the show gets major audience figures, or is somehow so incredibly cheap that they can afford to keep making it without losing money, I don't think it will run long. So many shows are cancelled after one eight-episode season even though they were great with a dedicated fanbase. Tv just isn't like it used to be and it's not even much of a reflection on the actors.

I hope there's something so unique about Countdown that it does get renewed because I love cheesy action stuff, but so far I don't know if there's anything quite that special. Fingers crossed I'll be proven wrong and there's been enough promo for people outside the fan space to pick up on it.

I agree with this anon that viewers determine renewal, but the reviews, especially the early ones, are critical because they can encourage or discourage the general audience from checking it out.

Online fans, the ones that make it seem like there is a lot of buzz, generally only number in the low thousands. For a show like Countdown to get a renewal, the viewing numbers need to be in at least the low million(s). Good reviews can boost the GA numbers because they'll make a point to watch the show, but lackluster reviews, especially during a busy summer vacation season can doom a show because it's not must-see television that people will purposefully work into their schedule.

And based on the reviews, there's a high likelihood that the GA won't show up for Countdown.

This show will be lucky to get more than a couple of seasons. I'll predict early.

It's pretty bad to wear something once, but especially if that has a four figure price tag. Celebrities live in a bubble, but even the rich can't be that unaware that people are struggling financially. For the lucky/dedicated/irresponsible people who can afford to go to the conventions and stuff, they have almost always needed to make sacrifices to be able to attend. To know that a jacket you'll never see again was paid for by seven photo ops makes me side-eye a little.

Yes, I'm someone who goes to cons and gets photo ops and makes sacrifices elsewhere to do it. I know, I'm the problem.

She wouldn't be the first to cancel an appearance because it wasn't going to make enough money to cover her (ample) costs to attend (expensive outfit to wear once and throw away, six star hotel, botox and filler top up).

Am I considered an "anti" because I worry about Jensen and don't think the sun shines out of his gloriously toned arse? I'm too new to the game to know this myself.

This J2 stan wants them *both* to thrive. In their careers and in their personal lives. They're both gorgeous, talented and lovable men, who gave us a comfort show like no other.

But when we actually care about someone, we're concerned for them if something is concerning. That includes celebrities. Anyone who can look at a celebrity as a complex human being and not just a pretty face will also look below that pretty face to the person underneath. Jared has an incredible support structure at home and an adoring wife, and has gone through some bad times and continues to work on himself. Jensen doesn't have that, which we can hear from his own words if we just listen to what he says.

We don't want him to end up chasing eternal youth because it's just his looks that people comment on and have him end up on the botched surgery subreddit like so, so many gorgeous but insecure actors have before him. He's at the brow of that hill wearing his roller skates.

I would love nothing more than for Jensen to find another role he loves as much as Dean Winchester and give us a new (emphasis on new) character we can love as much as Dean, and see him give us sustained versions of those nuanced deep performances we have seen glimpses of. I want him to be a household name beyond Supernatural fans, getting recognition and winning awards for his work and being on our screens for years. I want him to be happy and fulfilled and self actualised.

People who don't understand concern comes from a place of love are never going to appreciate that.

Patina is such a perfect word for it. JDM is so gorgeous. A lifetime of smoking, and a few instances of rapid weight loss for roles, have subjectively ravaged his looks because it made his cheeks so drawn, but no amount of botox could make that man hotter than the is 🥵🔥 but it could definitely detract, same for puffy fillers

Jared has so much beautiful life behind his eyes, I think he's genuinely looking better with age. Jensen is still looking good with age, but not *better*.

I came to realise I'll always be a Dean girl (who loves Sam too) but I'm also a Jared girl (who loves Jensen too). They're both my boys and I take every opportunity to meet and have photos with both whenever I can, but Jared is just so warm and genuine 🥰 his aura is infectious. He's a happy man

He is definitely aging, and that's ok. I don't know why people try to pretend he isn't. It's just making a negative loop when he'll try and maintain the impossible.

He still looks great except when the botox is off. I've seen him up close too and he's still gorgeous. Yes, he's approaching 50 but a lot of people don't get that opportunity in life so maybe the expression lines are well earned. He always had eye crinkles. He always had prominent tear troughs (I can't tell if it's filler or the botox bunny line effect making his cheeks look off). They aren't making him look older than they did in his 20s.

You only need to look at the ridiculously handsome and sexy Pedro Pascal to see that some age looks good on a man who was handsome to start with.

Erasing the crinkles is, and always will be, a crime. The crinkles have been there since Jensen was in his 20s, and they're beautiful.

Link. It's great that Jensen is on the TV Guide cover two times in two years but why, as you said, the weird editing choices? For the first cover it's like they took two different pictures of his face and spliced them together. Smirks are supposed to be come-hither but the photoshopper went overboard erasing his crinkles that they erased the come-hither-ing. The 2nd cover only makes me glad that they didn't use this one for the poster. Why did they have his mouth slack while also having his eyes in a serious eye roll position? He looks dumbfounded instead of .... what ever the expression was supposed to be.

Jensen is a conventionally handsome dude who is a pro at being photographed, but both covers didn't feature his best quality.

Ultimately, Cas didn't serve a purpose so Dean didn't give a shit about him any more. And that's ok.

He had pie, Sam and free will. That's the three things that bring him the most happiness, not a creepy angel who in four billion years hasn't learnt the concept of personal space.

3. It wasn't female erasure, they just want to make it sound like this isn't all a tantrum over Cas so have to pretend they care about other groups.

4. It's not bury your gays to have nothing further to do with a character. His arc was done. He said what he said and Dean carried on regardless. There was no need for him to live, he once again would have added nothing.

5. Emotional incest because obviously any love and the only love is romantic. Yes, their whole lives they only had each other. There were 326 episodes about it before this one.

6. They have had so much literal torture through the show. For longer than 7 minutes and actually shown on screen. Accidental death isn't torture.

7. This is the closest thing to actual heaven. I would want my people with me. Jess, Eileen, Mrs Blurry, Madison, everyone there was a part of Sam's life. Nobody should be in eternity all alone except for holograms of people they used to know. This concept of heaven is way better than the alternative.

8. Jack already fucked the show up enough. Dabb's Gary Sue OC didn't need to do anything else.

9. Dean asked to stay dead and accepted his death. Sam let Dean stay dead and accepted his death. That's the biggest possible character development.

10. Life's a bitch and then you die. Live fast, die young, leave a pretty corpse. He couldn't quit hunting so he died doing it. I hate that he died and didn't get to enjoy life. I'd prefer for him to have got disabled by the rebar damaging his spine and had to take on a Bobby role, or Sonny and adopted a million wayward children through a home for them. But he died. People die.

That wig was the final villain of the show.
