Jensen directed this episode which means he had input into making this vision work. And he took inspiration from John Wick which is about the best possible source for this kind of fight choreography.

Keanu can't help inspiring action trends. A hero that's a little bit soft as well as a badass so men and women love him equally despite the genre typically being male leaning? Point Break and Speed. A hero that's utterly lost and has to learn fast after the rug is pulled from under him but then becomes one with the action and kicks every available ass? The Matrix. A hero that is unstoppable and uses his environment to kill in creative and efficient ways? John Wick. And then we see the copies come after.

But I'm sure Dean would have preferred to hang with Bill and Ted to discuss rock music.

SPN 15x04 Atomic Monsters

I’m actually not a big fan of slo-mo fight scenes because in my experience, they far too often show clumsiness, errors or lack of training instead of showcasing skill and badassery (the big bar fight in 14x02 comes to mind).

But in this particular case, the slowed-down moments work perfectly. They show how competent and well-prepared everyone involved was. It doesn’t look like an actor and a bunch of stuntmen doing a rehearsed ‘fight’; they are in a fight. When you look at Jensen’s face, he doesn’t look like he’s concentrating on getting it right for the camera; he looks completely matter-of-fact, almost even bored, as if this comes as easy as breathing for him, and as automatic. Which is of course absolutely how it should be for Dean.

I recommend slowing the scene down even more, much more, and watching it that way to fully enjoy everything that is going on. For example, in the three gifs above, we have Dean doing several things at once with absolute ease:

He’s jerking Demon no. 1’s gun hand away and shooting him in the foot, then immediately turning to shoot Demon no. 2, using Demon no. 1 as cover.

He’s deflecting Demon no. 3’s knife while shooting him in the head.

He’s flipping Demon no. 4 and rolling over him, comes up grabbing Demon no. 5’s gun hand and shooting him, then immediately turns to finish off Demon no. 4.

Kudos to Rob Hayter for the kickass choreography, to Jensen for pulling it off perfectly, and to everyone involved for making this awesome sequence happen.

No Sam means Dean killing himself to get him back. And if it doesn't work? Well that just means Sam and Dean are dead and the show's over. It was the Sam and Dean show, not Sam or Dean show.

They were psychotically, irrationally, erotically co-dependent. The key word there being co-dependent on their soulmate. Both of them were kinda abnormally obsessed with the other. Which would be creepy if it wasn't so endearing. All of this is canon set out since S1 and proven true more times than Bobby said "balls".

If they admit that J2 doing anything together doesn't make Wincest canon, then they'd have to accept that it would mean the same for their (sunk) ship.

Jared's character could be a shape shifter that poses as a beautiful old lady then reveals himself as a SB fanboy afterwards. Jared said his character is happy to meet Soldier Boy, not their characters to each other. We've even seen sex used that way in the show back in S1.

There are so many possibilities that they must be absolutely shitting themselves. It doesn't even rely on SB being bi or anything else they can make desperate memes of because this is a universe where anything is possible.

This is going to be the longest year of their lives.

I don't pity her. It's a mix of her getting what she wanted and reaping what she sowed.

She's got the mansion(s) she wanted (even if he didn't want to move away from Texas). She's got a husband who supports her extended family (or did until her brother mismanaged the brewery into shutting down). She got the three kids she wanted (even though he only wanted one). She got the fame she wanted by having his name (though she wanted more fame).

A lot of celebrity wives and mothers work as much as their husbands so it's her choice to waste away. She could have worked with the production company but that was dead before it started.

The balance is that he works to bring in money, she spends all his money, so he has to work himself to death to keep their books balanced.

The only ones I feel sorry for are the kids. Adults can grow up and get a divorce if they're unhappy. They can have affairs if they choose to. They can sacrifice whatever they need to break free. Tina Turner gave up everything but her dignity and she had a lot more to lose than Danneel.

But the kids? They're innocent victims of unsatisfied parents. She signed up for a long distance husband; they didn't sign up for a long distance dad.

The praise isn't praise like you'd get from people who were watching and engaging with the show. Sharing gifs of Mark looking hot is not praise. It's literally the most shallow thing possible.

Talk about the musical cues, the choreography of action scenes, the subtle foreshadowing of things that later become clear. If you can (I can't). I did like the Gallagher thing; more of that stuff would have been nice. You know a lot more so we felt like we had to pay proper attention as we watched and there was a lot of room for speculation and discussion. That's what makes a show popular, especially if there is a bit of mystery and crime solving: make us join in with it from our sofas!

Derek please, if Amazon gives you another shot with this give this to someone else who can write. We'll see if they can do better writing a S2. And if not, well you got more than you deserved from it, and the cast got little to nothing because fucking hell he didn't give them anything to work with.

The way Mark Sheppard talks about his wife 🥹🥹 it's not over the top. It's not ridiculous and syrupy sweet. It's sincere and it's genuine. Maybe it's easier when it's not your first wife, you can be more grounded.

I'm horrified at the thought of someone trauma-dumping something they were going through in their private lives. That could break the actors (whoever they are, J2 or anyone else). Imagine if someone just lost their baby to miscarriage and then you have to go to work and be reminded of it.

The grace that actors have with some of what is asked at conventions...I don't know how they do it. There needs to be organisation and restraint in what is allowed to be asked/said. Like staff need to look at your question written on your phone and see if that's something a whole hall should be subjected to.

Conventions ≠ therapy

I was at the gold panel in Austin and it was great to see the boys in person again. But there is something I need to get off my chest and I know this may make me sound like such a horrible person, but there was a lady who was sharing her very traumatic (SA, miscarriages, etc) story and asking for encouragement and while I wish her the best and aknowledge it took a lot of courage to speak of such topics... please don't bring such topics up at panels/to actors. It's not the right time or place :(

While I understand said person was in deep pain, a convention is not the appropriate place for sharing such experiences and it can only lead to alienating the actors. People need to be very delicate about how they share their traumas precisely because it does affect the mood of an entire room plus there’s always the risk of re traumatizing one’s own self. I am deeply sorry the lady experienced such painful events in her life but I recommend only sharing such experiences within the right context where they benefit her and others instead of take away from an experience.

The problem with that is that it's canon that Sam and Dean are soulmates. Dean put Sam above everyone else, including all of humanity and obviously above himself and would do anything for him.

Meanwhile Dean (deservedly) treated Cas like shit, likened him to a dog, and a baby when he wasn't useful. Cas was a tool in every sense, and Sam was the love of Dean's life. Whether fans choose to see that love as fraternal or incestuous is up to them but we have 327 episodes on our side that it was the epic love story of Sam and Dean.

They have their little stories that they write because they don't get their hunger satisfied in the show. Famine would be having a field day. Fans of the show who have watched it are satisfied enough that it isn't needed. And as far as I can tell (not a reader of it, but I skim over the synopsis of stuff generally), Wincest fics tend to be set in the same universe and not some stupid idyll where monsters don't exist and Cas is human. It's more accurate and closer to canon because it's written by fans of the show

They never seem to understand that more fics online means less content in canon. I know what Jensen says, does or wants don't matter to them, but even a crumb of consideration would be nice.

Also Jensen looks best in J2 panels because he's always smiling and laughing, and clearly happiest when Jared's the one next to him. There's life in his eyes. He'll do the brooding thing while he's thinking or listening if that's what they're into.

AAs are their own worst enemies and a really weird blot on the fandom.

So when my whole brain thing was really bad (I've talked about it previously in relation to Countdown, for anyone who's familiar) and they were doing investigations and I was having to get head MRIs pretty regularly. I just stopped wearing metal anything except my wedding set which I'd leave with my husband when I was going in the room.

All my piercings were switched out to bioplast (because switching back and forth was annoying) for months, all my other regular rings stayed off. No hair pins, only scrunchies. Crop top type bras. Leggings with no drawstring or anything. No jewellery. I wasn't getting close to that room with anything metal on. Not even that wing of the hospital. Nuh-uh. Too paranoid? Maybe. But the nurses and techs were always very impressed at how thorough I had been. They never managed to find anything that I missed.

Dean was based on Han Solo, literally how they described him (with Sam being his Luke Skywalker) when they were first introducing the character during casting. The charm, the wit, the attitude, the skills both as a pilot and sharp shooter, living outside the law but with his own moral compass. Han Solo who also loves women. It's all right there. Also the 6'1" brunette with green eyes, a scar on his chin, and a world class smirk.

Jensen didn't act him as bi because Dean was straight. Gonna say that he probably knows, since Jensen read the script, took direction and played him on screen for fifteen years, rather than learning about his character through poorly edited fan videos that often mistake his lusty looks at Sam as being directed at Cas like most hellers did.

Surely reading all that bollocks would take longer than sitting down and watching the panel that surely been somewhere? Just sit and watch and decide based on what you see with your own eyes.

I thought they were on top form and was properly laughing out loud at some of what was happening. Probably their best US panel in the past year. I don't know if it's the case that European ones are better, or I'm just biased because I can sometimes attend them in person.

I always stream these J2 panels and every time, they're a reminder that the show's success and longevity was almost entirely down to the chemistry between Jared and Jensen.

She not only willingly watched this panel, she obsessively watched it to the point of transcribing it, telling you how a Jared anti should be viewing everything through the I hate Jared club lens, and typed up this massive ass book about it. I’ve never seen anyone in this fandom go this far out of their way for someone they HATE. That’s EXTRA even for Donald Trump.

I didn’t even watch the full panel. She spent all day doing this all because she’s butthurt her Misha content for the weekend sucked. So this is the part where they blame Jared for it and try to find something to trash him over. Since they’re not really fans of anything they’re just haters and this proves it.

Cynifer didn’t give this level of attention to any Misha/Jensen panel, or that Misha show, or any of Jensen’s shows, or SPN itself.

But she sure did this with a J2 panel she’s mad at because Jared exists, also did it with his Fire Country appearance, and they did it with Walker too. Nothing for their own faves.

There are people that don’t like some of the actors in this fandom, I’ve only ever known Jared haters to be so dedicated and spend so much time on it, it’s all they do in fandom period. Imagine that being your daily routine. And it’s all only because he gets in the way. That’s why they’re so mad, they didn’t get the content they wanted and are bitter J2 fans did.

Maybe if you don’t actually want to be in this fandom, don’t be in it.
