Small conversation of re-affirmation with gale and my tav.

I kept forgetting to share the gang. So allow me to introduce the other little guys living in my head. They are the Murder of Drow party, and Elendar's future companions, set after the end of bg3. This will be a fairly quick intro to them since I'm doing three at once. (Remind me I actually need to share Veldrin's stuff too so I have him in relation to Elendar/Altonin. rip too many drow.)

Starting with Haldiira, she is an assassin rogue working within Bregan D'aerthe. She prefers to live inside the Underdark, and hates it when she is forced to the surface for assignments. And although those missions are generally few and far between, it is what landed her with this lot + Elendar. (I haven't gotten around to plotting why she needs them for yet, but she does and we're just going with it.) She worships Lolth, although she actually hates the goddess, as it was her will that brought the downfall of Haldiira's House. She doesn't understand why Lachrymose and Tarlyn would willingly worship anyone else, and is constantly at odds with Lachrymose in particular over their differences in their faith. Tarlyn, for the most part, she understands why he left Lolth, although she doesn't approve of going to Eilistraee.

She is roughly 5'1, and is in her mid 300s. She can speak Common, Drow, and drow sign language.

Next we have Lachrymose, my bubbly big little guy in the middle. Lachrymose is half-drow/half-moon elf cleric of Eilistraee, and a member of the Silverhair Knights. (Subclass tbd. I need to read up on cleric subclasses to find one that fits.) His mother was a noble drow who's house fell and was helped by Eilistraean priestesses and an adventuring group which his father was apart of. His mother never really spoke of her time in the Underdark, a combination of The Trauma and The Anger, and was always distance with Lachrymose as she was unused to the idea that y'know... parents raise their own kids. Lachry's father did his best to help him fit within surface society, but nothing ever quite fit him. Too surface elf for the very few drow he knew, and far too drow for any of the elves on his father's side.

Lachrymose eventually found solace within Eilistraee's church. It allowed him connect with the drow side that he was constantly denied growing up, while maintaining certain values that he preferred. He swore to help any drow wanting to escape the dark and Lolth's embrace. He struggles with Haldiira's attitude of "I hate everything about Lolth, but we are what she made us." and is constantly trying to persuade her into giving literally any other god a try, but mostly Eilistraee. Tarlyn, on the other hand, is his partner. Although their relationship is rather strained and they're working through some growing pains of dealing with Tarlyn trying to adjust to being on the side of Good on the surface. Lachrymose had help bring Tarlyn to the surface, and even performed the ritual that allowed him to consume Tarlyn's past sins. (Put a pin in that baybee.) He does love Tarlyn very much despite how often they seem to get at odds. He trusts Tarlyn to make the right choices for himself, even if it goes against their church.

He is about 5'8, and is only about 90 years old. (he's BABY) He can speak Common, Elvish, and knows only a few words in drow as they pertain to rituals.

And finally we have Tarlyn. Tarlyn was sent to the surface by his house to inflitrate the Eilistraean church, by pretending to be a drow refugee. He was assigned to Lachrymose to help guide him in his "adjustment period", to answer any questions and the like. Unfortunately for Tarlyn's house, between just in general being on the surface, combined with Lachrymose's... everything... the Lolth worshipping brainwash slowly slipped away, until Tarlyn decided he no longer wanted to return home to the Underdark. He became rather fond of living on the surface as well as Lachrymose.

He is a paladin, Oath of Vengeance, and he struggles to completely believe into Eilistraee's way of doing things. And although he is definitely trying to be Good and Better, there's something Off about his feelings. Unfortunately for Tarlyn the ritual to wipe his slate completely clean and allow him to live on the surface as a Good and Humble Drow, didn't work as intended due to Lachrymose's inexperience. It wiped his proverbial slate clean, but it left him with a level of loss he doesn't quite understand. And he's tried bringing it up with Lachry and as well as other priests/priestesses of Eilistraee, however they just keep brushing him off as say he'll get used to it. It's an adjustment. So he often feels disconnected to Eilistraee's teachings, seeing her as an equal but opposite end of the spectrum of Lolth. (Word on the street is, Vhaeraun might be sniffing around the paladin for funsies.)

Tarlyn does care a great deal for Lachrymose (though he's hesitant to call it love.), but he wishes that Lachry would slow down and stop throwing himself recklessly into things just to do it "the Eilistraean way" ("I will not argue with you on this point, Lachrymose, you're going to wear armor when you fight. The gods cannot stop you from getting stabbed!!") He respects Haldiira's choice to continue to worship Lolth despite her obvious dislike of the goddess. And understands that she's more doing it out of necessity and to ease her own thoughts about her idea of what drow are, rather than because she believes that Lolth actually cares for her.

He is about 5'2, and is about 200 years old. He speaks Common, drow, and drow sign language.

And there we have it. That's my little murder of drow. I love these guys, and I can't wait to do more with them. ☺️☺️

Help Mohamad reunite his family ❤️🙏

I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Mohamad S., who is facing one of the most challenging times of his life. Mohamad is 37 years old and left his homeland in 2015 in search of a safer and better future. He’s a kind, hardworking man, and his small family has always been his greatest priority.

Living abroad, Mohamad has recently endured unimaginable loss and financial strain. Amidst the ongoing conflict in his homeland, his mother passed away, leaving behind his sister and her five young children—the last remaining members of his immediate family.

As the situation worsened, Mohamad managed to help his sister and her children escape to safety in Egypt, covering their immediate needs and securing a temporary refuge for them. Since then, he has been fully responsible for providing everything they need to survive during this transition.

In his efforts to support his family and cope with this devastating loss, Mohamad has found himself deeply in debt. To make matters even more difficult, he recently underwent knee surgery, which limits his ability to return to work for the foreseeable future. This has made it even harder for him to manage his financial responsibilities and the pressing need to provide his family with a stable future.

Mohamad is now working to bring his sister and her five children to join him in Belgium, where he hopes they can find stability and opportunity after all they’ve endured. This transition, however, requires significant resources that he is currently unable to meet alone.

For privacy reasons, we are not sharing Mohamad’s full name, as he has chosen to keep his identity discreet. While he initially refused the idea of asking for help, I couldn’t stand by and watch him struggle alone. I insisted on doing this for him because he deserves a chance to overcome these challenges. Your contribution 💪 will help Mohamad repay the debt incurred during this difficult time, cover ongoing living expenses for his family, and assist with the costs involved in bringing them safely to Belgium.

Mohamad has been a good friend of mine for years, and I’ve always admired his resilience and generosity. Any support, no matter the size, will make an incredible difference in helping Mohamad and his family rebuild their lives after these painful experiences.

I can't wait to let Elendar fuck with him. (While Haldiira approves and watches, and Tarlyn takes offense on Lachrymose's behalf but secretly enjoys the ribbing.)

On a different note that's slightly adjacent to my previous post. As per my discussion with @marquis-charbon and @edhelsen earlier, Elendar isn't above cannibalism. And would prefer to be eaten when he dies. (Providing his corpse is left in good enough condition.)

I don't think drow had "normal" funerary services, considering how many are just left behind in a battle or thrown into a canyon. So he prolly doesn't feel being buried is a very peaceful idea to him. Cremation is much too violent, and fears some wizard just throwing a fireball at his dead body and calling it a day. But being consumed by the people he chose to surround himself with? Being able to provide them strength one last time? Yeah that hits for him.

Cracks knuckles, okay so it's been a long time since I have been able to do stuff like these. (and I will tag certain things appropriately and make a post out of it so bear with me for now)

Alastor is a big lover of soups and sauces. It's more so as someone who has been used to travelling from one point to the next. Something warm and hearty, something to fill the bones before going to the next place.

It's like a reward after a few weeks aboard the ship.

One Step Forward, Six Steps Back

Chapter: 1

Word Count: 11.8k

Summary: Elendar and Alastor are on a quest to get timmask spores for Omeluum, when an encounter in the Underdark leads to Elendar reuniting with the past he's trying to run from.

I gave my Tav his own act 1 romance scene with Astarion, based on my multiplayer game. (Double the Tavs, double the fun or something.)

Sample:

Elendar winces once again, “We were-,” he pauses to try and think of the right word. Despite the tadpole translating his words into Common, he still struggled to find the right way to describe it. “I think the easiest way to describe what we were is ‘lovers’-.” Elendar scrunches his nose, not enjoying the taste of the word on his tongue. “Obviously.” Astarion sneers, interrupting the drow.  “To be clear, ‘lovers’ isn't the right word for us either. That would imply we held some sort of love for one another.” Elendar's voice fades.  The silence of the Underdark hangs heavily between them. Elendar pulls up his knees to his chest and rests his forehead on the crease between them. His voice comes out muffled as he speaks into his thighs, “What we had… What I had with him was more like utter devotion. Like a cleric to their god, I would do anything he asked of me. I couldn't refuse him, he saved me. I was there to help lift his status as a male warrior, as he did my own. It was what I was born to do, what I was raised for.”
