quick kinda personal update as to why i've been quiet! the surface version is that i've got some stuff going on that preoccupies me from being able to manage my queue or get in more than a snatch of coding at a time. i'm not on any kind of official hiatus, things are just slow atm.

the slightly more personal version is that i'm once again housing insecure and a bit busy trying to figure out a way to escape from my bio family. so i'm pretty much busy with figuring that out every day;; not much time for queueing posts or putting together official status updates and all that. hopefully i'll be able to bring you guys some good news soon, bear with me!

I think maybe a good way to keep the agere site free from trolls would to be to make it invite only? At least for a short while.

it’s.. genuinely a little insane to me that you’re getting some questions about the site that can all kinda be boiled down to “i don’t know how to curate my own internet experience and need you to do it for me”. have we lost the plot already? is the internet really this cooked?? like guys, blocking people and tags is an amazing thing. you don’t need to scream and cry every time you see something you don’t like. block and move on!! it’s extremely easy!!!

i mean, i totally understand where it comes from after all we are on one of the OG Discourse Sites, i don't have hard feelings toward people having these kinds of questions and whatnot! plus it's harder to grasp the concept of a site when you're only hearing descriptions of it, i imagine it'll be a lot easier to just get the hang of it when the metaphorical doors actually open.

Sometimes regression isn’t about being happy.

Sometimes regression is being so mad at the day you had and the people that are mean and the world for being cruel that you can’t help but get small at the end of the day and seek comfort and feel frustrated at yourself for wanting to regress and be safe.

Sometimes regression is having an ugly meltdown and crying about things that are happening and things that happened before and things you don’t want to have happen again.

Sometimes regression is the last defense against a depressive episode, the hope that nostalgia will give you the feelings you need.

Sometimes regression is coming down from panic and anxiety swirling, self soothing or being held by someone while you’re catching your breath and shakily drinking water.

Sometimes regression is not wanting anybody to touch you at all, wanting nobody to hurt you or overstimulate you or make you feel like you physically exist at all.

And sometimes regression is letting your little self drink the water you need, eat the food you deserve, put your face in the sunlight and do whatever you need to do to keep going. Sometimes it’s letting yourself sit and breathe. Sometimes you share that space with all of your feelings, simple and complicated alike while you’re little. Sometimes it’s just about feeling safe. ˚✧₊⁎💛⁎⁺˳༚

i’m still really far from setting up the mod team, but yes i’ll be working hard on keeping trolls out. there’s a little bit about it in the survey results report that’s going up in a few days, but in the first place the community sections of the site won’t be viewable unless you’re logged in and registration will be by invite (like how it is on Ao3). i’ve looked a little bit into getting an automod set up in case i can’t put together a team to cover every hour of the day and so on… but i’ll know more about it when i get to that stage!

this site isn’t planned to be “for” furries, so there won’t be any specific focus on babyfurs in particular. it’s not planned to be a hobbyist or fandom site, but a social networking site for regressors which is at its core a type of therapy. ^_^ that said i’m not going to ban furries or whatever, if you happen to be a regressor/dreamer/alter/little that is also a furry/babyfur and you're only posting sfw in the site then live your best life! but i fully intend to keep chuchuu as a space for regressors of any kind exclusively (as defined as anyone who experiences a total or partial cognitive shift to the mindset of a different age or species, usually as a way to cope with stressors or trauma), and not a general hub for all childhood adjacent fandoms (babyfur, kidcore, nostalgiacore, fandoms of popular cartoons, etc).

that’s a good point for accessibility! i recently added a bunch of accesibility stuff to the dev site and readable font is one of them! just click the purple accesibility icon in the upper right. as for volume control in the coloring game, it’s not something i can easily add, i’m sorry ;; windows pcs allow tab muting and volume mixing. i’ll see if i can add something like it in the future but it’s a mod of an app i didn’t build from scratch so trying to change big things about it like that is really rough. the version on the final site will be fully featured, so please forgive the little temporary one! i’m really glad you like the game, there’s gonna be tons of mini games on the final site!

I wish people understood there was a way to go about your internet experience without making it about some sort of discourse 24/7. Very unhealthy.

if people understood that there's a way to just avoid things you dislike on the internet and not constantly engage with discourse and meaningless drama of/with people you don't even know, the internet and society itself would be almost unimaginably different.

"this site should NOT be xyz" oh okay didn't realize you were the ceo and made the rules sir yes sir

"there should be none of [very niche discourse thing the user disagrees with]" yep i'll make sure everyone on the site agrees with you specifically on that issue i've never heard of gotcha

"if i see abc i'm going to delete my account, so don't do it" maybe i'll just do it SPECIFICALLY so that you do. weed out the people who feel entitled enough to try to influence the outcome with threats early.

it's only like a double digit number of the 1000+ responses that are like that but wow sometimes i just have to shake my head.

yep! no offense or hate to cglers, but i’m not into it personally and i personally don’t want to run an adult content/fetish website. harder to moderate, runs into grey areas with minors being on the site, makes it easier for predators to get an in, and to top it all off i'm Ace🖤🩶🤍💜 so it'd suck to spend all this time building a site only to then have it be mostly hornyposts that are unrelatable at best and repulsive at worst to me. I have cynophobia. Is there going to be a space on the site that will be safe to *not* have pets?

the site is group focused and the groups are created by users! so, anyone would be able to make a group for cynophobic kiddos, and other than that it should be sufficient to just not join any petreg related groups and fill in any gaps with blocking and tag muting!
