reasons why you need to be watching sense8 on netflix right now

co-created/written/produced by a trans woman lana wachowski (famous for her work alongside her brother in the matrix franchise, v for vendetta, cloud atlas, etc etc) 

the show is about 8 different people (called “sensates”) from different cultures and parts of the world (not just different parts of the united states!! actually all across the globe!!!!) who all become connected - mentally and emotionally - and have to escape from being killed by a man trying to hunt them down

in general a super interesting and unpredictable plot 

sci-fi drama that actually addresses gender, sexuality, identity, and religion!!! what more could u want!!!!!!!!!!

multiple queer characters including 3 poc and 1 trans character that are given as much screentime as the main straight characters

said trans character is played by an actual trans woman not a cis actor

the 2 main queer relationships are so incredibly authentic and not pushed aside or used as the Token Gay Relationship in any way

half of the main characters are poc (all of different races as well!!!!)

all of the female characters are so completely different and written superbly 

you will probably fall in love with all of the sensates tbh just a fair warning

a lot of important issues aren’t sugar coated like they are in other television shows it’s so refreshing and nice 

only 12 episodes in the first season (each averaging on 55 minutes) so it’s not that long to binge watch

just!!!! watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
