In today’s episode of DGS (#484), in the opening talk, Kamiya Hiroshi made a statement regarding the article and picture that were published in a magazine at the beginning of this week. I translated it at the best of my abilities.

Today, there is something that I, Kamiya Hiroshi, want to talk about so I’ll be using this radio’s opening.

I think you can guess but, a magazine that came out this week published an article that concerned my private life.

First of all I offer my apologies if anyone got worried or troubled about it. I’m sorry. If you forgive my usual frivolous talk, about why wasn’t there a better picture than that one, usually in seiyuu magazines on top of applying make up I also get retouched so that I don’t even look like myself. Well, I’m more used to seeing the unattractive myself but I hope you’ll understand that I don’t want to show it or talk about it as part of my privacy.

This time my privacy has been unexpectedly put in the spotlight, I was very surprised.

I might not have high morals, it might not be something I should boast to everyone, but I have a private life. But this private life is something that I have to protect. With this private life at the base, I also exist as the seiyuu Kamiya Hiroshi that everyone knows.

As my personal opinion, I don’t want to bring my personal life in my work and entertainment as much as possible, and I give priority to everyone’s enjoyment than to what I’d personally like to do. I’ve also said something vague like not wanting to say lies as much as possible but I have a strong policy. On top of working as a seiyuu, standing in public with my own name, making statements in radio, always taking responsibility over works and characters and all this bragging, I don’t think I was wrong in deciding to mantain this policy.

The most important thing for me is to make everyone enjoy their time when they come to events or follow me on radio or television. I hope you’ll realize I try my best and be careful to not conduct an unsuitable behaviour for those situations. As an adverse effect, I missed a space to make an intervention on my private life and I arrived here without having found the timing to make an announcement, so I believe I’m the one that caused this situation.

But working together with staff that understood this policy and doing our best, I think the results show in events like the EXPO.

So from now on too, mantaining this policy,  I will surely keep on facing this thing called entertainment and I will continue performing through the mike to offer everyone a time they can enjoy. I hope you’ll forgive me this way.

I don’t have a blog or twitter where I can make personal statements, so with the understanding and approval of Bunka Housou and the sponsors I recieved this talking time. As soon as the commercials end I promise I will bring you the usual fun broadcast, so I’ll be happy if you keep on following us like always!
