The Way You Look Tonight | F2F

Thoroughly pleased with himself for managing to snag a last-minute cancellation at a cosy Italian restaurant the next town over, Mason’s nervous excitement makes focusing through a full day of classes hard to bear, but finally the day is done.

He’d walked Blaine to his dorm and left him with a kiss on the cheek and the promise of picking him up at six o’clock before hurrying back to his own room to shower and make himself presentable, which mostly consisted of him standing mildly panicked in front of his closet trying to figure out what to wear. It felt a little ridiculous, but when he finally pulls together an outfit he’s satisfied with he stands a little straighter in front of the mirror, flashing his reflection a nervous grin.

It doesn’t take long to style his hair up out of the way and then he’s ready to go-- a full half an hour before he’s due to pick Blaine up.

He sighs.

He can only stand to wait fifteen fidgety minutes before he gives up, making sure Jasper had enough water on his way out and taking a few deep breaths on the short walk to Blaine’s dorm in an attempt to calm his fluttering heart.

After taking a moment to collect himself, he knocks firmly on the door and tucks his hands into his back pockets as he waits for the submissive to answer, offering a pink-cheeked, sheepish smile when the door swings open.

“Hi.”

Blaine: You know you're always allowed to steal me away, right?

Mason: I know, but if I steal you away too often I don't think we'd get an awful lot done, do you?

Mason: As much as I love spending time with you we both need time for other things

I’m Professor Ballinger. I’ll be teaching Aftercare for all of you guys. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me here. My door is always open to students.

Just when he thought he couldn’t get any more flushed, Blaine’s sweet words had the tips of Mason’s ears and the back of his neck burning-- he almost admired how easily the other boy seemed to fluster him. He glances at Blaine’s lips when he speaks again, one shoulder twitching with a slight shrug before he smiles bashfully.

“I already played my trump card when we went stargazing.” he admitted with a bit of a laugh, “but I’m sure I can think of something. I just... I want it to be special, you know?” In all honesty - even though he’d been thinking about the possibility of a date with Blaine for a while - he’d asked him over that evening on impulse, and he’d spent more time dismissing ideas that wouldn’t work than coming up with something fitting for the two of them.

Something I Need → BLASON

Blaine squeezed back, as his own cheeks started heating up a little as well. He just couldn’t stop smiling, and he was pretty sure that he would be dancing around the room right now if Mason hadn’t still been there. As Mason gently touched his cheek, Blaine let out a barely audible sigh. It was amazing how good Mason could make him feel with small, simple touches like that. It made him feel grounded, and cared for. When Mason frowned slightly, Blaine almost regretted telling him about this. Not that he didn’t trust Mason, or didn’t want to tell him - he just didn’t want him to worry. So he decided not to bring it up again, at least not anytime soon, unless Mason would ask him about it. 

“I know you wouldn’t,” Blaine replied softly, back to beaming within seconds after hearing that Mason felt the same about him. “You’re way too much of a beautiful person, both inside and out, to do something like that. And I promise I’d never hurt you either.” He squeezed Mason’s hand once more, before chaging the subject slightly “So, did you have anything in mind for our date already?”

Blaine: That sounds like a fair deal. Then you can still kiss away that pout ;)

Mason: Details, details.
