the problem with watching doctor who as a child is that a small part of your brain can never completely give up the idea that the doctor exists. if i saw a blue police box materialize out of thin air i would not be anywhere near surprised enough.

I'm actually comfortable in this pit you put me in. I like it in here and I will resist any attempt made to rescue me. I'm happy with the scraps you feed me and I don't mind how sick I'm getting.

my terminal cancer has a cure. they will take my tumors the biggest ones they will cut them up and make various dishes with the chopped tumor as the meat and i will have to eat them. theyre going to make me eat my tumors and my body will digest my own flesh and learn how to break it down where it attacks my systems

thinking about the thick of it 4x04 from that nurse’s perspective. you’re not following the news because you’re on the ward, and you probably don’t give a shit about nicola murray anyway because you’re a normal person. all you know is that there’s a skinny young man recovering from an appendectomy in room 3. an older bloke you recognise comes in to see him with a bouquet, is a dream to you, takes said flowers in to him + back again, and then, bafflingly, gives them to you. a couple? a breakup? worse? later in the day, there’s a card and a balloon bound for his room, and although there isn’t a name on the card, you can tell who it’s from. you take them in, and the boy’s clearly surprised at the gesture, but a news bulletin comes on and something flashes in his eyes that’s far too hollow, far too sick. it makes you leave the room. two days later, he sneaks out before the consultant can see him, and you’re too overworked to speculate. the next time you see him properly is when labour wins the election, sidling out of shot

the doctor and the master’s dynamic is so funny to me like the doctor is like that one girl in the club whose boyfriend keeps getting in fights and she tries to break it up by saying like “jason. LOOK at ME. it’s me, it’s maddy. this isn’t YOU” except instead of her boyfriend getting in fights he’s trying to destroy entire worlds just for funsies
