it was a BLAAAAAAST. i wish it could've gone on for a whole week LOL

the highlight was doing my X-Men-themed Make Some Noise-style show on Friday night with some improv friends of mine. I got to channel Sam Reich while cosplaying Siryn (because she makes the most noise.)

it was a hit! people laughed. I did some bit about "and much like Jonas, the little gay boy buried somewhere on the X-Mansion grounds, I've been here the whole time!" and a guy in the audience was like "whoa that's a good pull" sdjkshdjk. the day after, somebody recognized me on the con floor and said she's attended the show both years and loved it so much both times eeeee (last year the structure was way different, it was more like the typical short-form improv shows we do at the theater)

Also on Friday I got to meet Art Adams and he signed my Longshot mini. and we both lamented how aside from Claremont in the Outback era, really no one has managed to improve upon or even match Longshot in the original mini. he was such a nice guy and I was so excited to meet him. I showed him I have Longshot's star tattooed on my wrist

and then on Saturday I cosplayed Emma and met some cool other cosplayers.

went to the artist spotlight on Kayla E and also went and talked to Bob McLeod. he asked if I ever cosplayed Dani and I got to do my whole spiel about how Dani's Cheyenne culture is soooo visually represented in her classic look that I wouldn't feel right doing the costume, or I'd have to do it without the "dani-ness" and just end up looking like Kitty With Braids. lmao but it was very much like "Well I can't cosplay her because you designed her too well" sjhdsjdhsj

and then on Sunday I went around getting artists to sign my Marvel Swimsuit Specials. oh and i was cosplayed Eddie Valiant because I do that every year on one of the days and lots of people liked that. One of the comic book vendors lured me in waving Roger Rabbit #1 in my face and I was like yeah okay. you got me. never read the comic so I'm excited to check it out

told tim seeley how much i've been enjoying astonishing x-men, especially his tom and cain story.

stood in line for chris claremont with my friend who was cosplaying selene and got to hear this exchange:

friend: Selene's a very complicated woman! chris claremont: All Women Are Complicated. but they are not all predators.

Also he wanted a picture with her on his phone so for a few brief moments I held chris claremont's phone. the man has like 4,000 unanswered WhatsApp messages.

OH AND KARLA PACHECO WAS THERE. which somehow I did not see on the program??? I do feel like I knew this at some point but the information dropped out of my head. anyway I was just walking and i was like "oh cool spiderwoman-- KARLA PACHECO???" so i got to meet her and I bought her run, collected and she signed it and I told her how happy I was she brought lindsay back, my best friend lindsay mccabe, and then she was like "I wasss trying to do... a little something more with lindsay and jess there" and I literally started jumping up and down. she said the intent was to have jess and lindsay get together which. felt really validating. also she said her editor was like "this could be considered queerbaiting" and she was like "who's baiting???"

Also a little trio of excited children nearly ran into me and my friend and I was like "oh hi small children" and then one of them said hi back. and a passerby just looks at us and goes. "are those your kids?" and we're like "NO???" and he goes "oh! i thought maybe you were lesbians and you adopted a bunch of black babies" and we were like "No!!! I mean yes we are lesbians but we aren't lesbians together. and also those aren't our kids" which is one of THE funniest interactions i've ever had at a con I think

ok i need to explain the “scott swallowed a bomb” issue for anyone who hasnt read it it is……. my favorite xmen issue it’s xmen vol 2 issue 70 by joe kelly.

ok so….. cecilia reyes, sam guthrie, wolverine, and jean show up at the mansion with scott. these nanobot whatevers are inside scott and he’s gonna explode unless they do something about it. they’re gonna try and do surgery but……… the x-mansion’s been robbed. i forget by who.

so cece is like “i’m a DOCTOR is know what i’m doing” (she also joined the team like……… 2 mnutes ago) so she’s like “sam, i need this medical supplies” and he goes to get it from a hospital and leaves a literal “iou” note. meanwhile cece has jean use her powers to sedate cyke (prompting the great line from jean “scott, i love you, but shut up”). then cece uses wolverine’s claws as scalpels to carefully remove the bomb from scott’s abdomen. 

meanwhile, bobby and i think some other people arrive at the mansion to find a. they’ve been robbed and (oh wait i just remembered!!! bastion and the government robbed them) b. “scott swallowed a bomb?!” then the doorbell rings and it’s juggernaut with an attorney and a deed for the mansion. so bobby’s fighting him (i just remembered- ororo’s there too, she purified water for scott’s surgery or something)

THEN hank, warren, and rogue show up (with marrow i think) and everyone else is like “where’s gambit?” and rogue’s like “he’s dead!” and they’re all like “whaaaa?” and then rogue’s like ‘i mean he’s dead to me” with no other explanation (this was immmediately following gambit’s trial in antarctica)

anyway, they fend of juggernaut and the lawyer and scott’s ok. not long after that scott and jean decide to take a break from the xmen and i don’t blame them bc shit was wild

today I was listening to Charli xcx "party 4 u" and thought of this post. and Scott and jean at their wedding.

when jean and scott both agreed to have sex with logan before their wedding but didnt tell him so logan left and now theyre sitting there in matching lingerie reading his 6 paragraph letter about how he cant tear them apart
