reading comments to this post is so cool, its fun seeing how differently people experience falling in love and how that intersects w friendship for them.

some people view dating as a commitment right away, some people view it as an exploration of feelings.

some people swoon over the first impression of the other, their feelings come in more quickly and suddenly. some fall in love with the things they notice in the other later on, only once they unlock the suitable friendship level.

some people view their friends as a qualitatively different (not worse) group to their partners, some allow for those groups to mix.

some people dont understand how it feels like or what constitutes dating or loving romantically at all.

the spectrum of human experience, even regarding such a "common" concept which is typically expected to be understood and experienced in a similar way by everyone, is so varied among both alloromantics and aromantics. thats crazy. i love that. its so fascinating to me

the idea that people have romantic attraction to people who aren’t their friends is so weird to me. i dont even know if i like you as like a person why would i want to play boyfriends with you

i think people get so used to their own creative work that they forget how amazing it is so i’m making this post as a reminder You are the only person capable of making art the exact way you make it. nobody else on earth can do that. there are always going to be those little habits and intricacies and details that simply cannot be replicated whether it’s in writing or painting or textiles and you make life all the better for it i love my friends’ art i love art from strangers im trying to love my own art I LOVE YOU!!! THE PERSON READING THIS!!!!!!! YOU ARE A PART OF THIS WORLD NEVER EVER STOP MAKING THINGS THAT CAN IMPACT IT

what is more, vbs exists thanks to kohane becoming ans aibou and convincing an to help toya and akito get back together right!!!!!! if it werent for her, not only would there be no vivids but bad dogs probably wouldnt exist anymore as well. so shes the closest to a direct cause of vbs existing as it is that I can think of

oh and lets not forget those solos she had in the decisive moments for vbs and how she was able to bring her team all to new heights thanks to them. how canonically attention-grabbing she is. poster girl both in-universe and in marketing (which doesnt equal in-universe leader, but ill get to that).

also I think shes a rlly good poster girl in the sense that her coming from a normal background and starting out w a low confidence and no dreams (as opposed to the rest of vbs who all grew up in some more specific conditions/specific mindsets) makes her be a good proof that comradeship, community and passion, thru music and hard work, can make Anyone (even you!) into a successful person who reaches their full potential and keeps on surpassing it, which are the very values of the story were working with right.

the fact that she started out as an "average" girl and built everything she has now over the course of the story, got shaped like this by her environment in spite of not having grown up in it like anchan (cause the average person hasnt either) makes her a good representative for the group i think (even if shes not a de facto lore leader).

besides, dont leaders according to lore literally differ from whats in marketing? after all, honami is the leader of leo need iirc in spite of ichika being the poster girl... and vbs has no leader in-universe still (even if kohane is their "wildcard"/soloist, she is not stated to be a leader)

kohane deserves to be unit leader/representative, akito or an as the leader would be to chaotic and toya doesn’t seem like the right fit, kohane is one hundred percent deserving of her place and i will NOT tolerate any kohane hate.
