The thrilling conclusion: wash your hands! Look at the difference in decomposition between the samples. Clearly there are a lot of bugs on our hands that can be spread to our food and each other!

The control was handled with gloves, the clean with washed hands, the dirty was touched by every kid in my class. What will happen as we leave them for the next week?

November 13-19 is World Antibiotics Awareness Week 2017. Antibiotics are becoming a precious resource due to antibiotic resistance and this year we are hoping to spread the message past health professionals and into the community. This event helps to get out important information that is relevant to the health of your students, such as how to prevent and treat illness.
To help support World Antibiotics Awareness Week and spread these important health messages, the Capital and Coast DHB, Hutt Valley DHB, and South Wellington Intermediate School have collaborated to bring you this pack of classroom resources and a poster competition for kids who are year 5-6 and 7-9 .
By entering a poster your students can be in to win a fantastic day of discovery and learning alongside doctors and specialists at Wellington Hospital, while helping to support public health in our region.
We hope that you will have a look, use what you like, and get some of your students involved in this important campaign and fantastic opportunity. Feel free to contact us with any questions, and please forward this email far and wide so we can reach as many schools in the Wellington region as possible!
