Welp, I finally squeezed out this silly little cover… Took me long enough, huh. Honestly, it’s kinda embarrassing — I had the whole script done like two or three months ago, but so far? Just this lonely cover exists. But it’s fine, it’s fine. Maybe one day I’ll actually finish the whole comic… maybe. Probably. Hopefully. (No promises though, I’m just a tired little potato.)

like obviously the fact that touichirou acts like teru is a narrative choice to demonstrate the escalation/evolution of the basic foundational themes teru introduces but the fact that he has so many of touichirous exact villainous mannerisms is so retroactively funny to me. like touichirou literally kicks dimple out the window like a soccer ball. if you think about it it basically goes like touichirou made himself the president of a terrorist organization, then he told claw to start kidnapping psychic children, then claw began routinely attempting to kidnap this one isolated kid so much he essentially grows up fighting them, then that specific kid just kind of happened to develop an incredibly similar personality and behaviorisms to the president of the company that keeps trying to kidnap him… damn guy yuore so good at being an abusive dad you managed to do the Abusive Dad Effect to some kid you’ve never even met before that’s amazing. we should give you some kind of medal for this

　　A figure emerged. It was the same restaurant waiter from before, but he was no longer in a vest and bow tie. Instead, he wore a fluffy blue-and-white checkered scarf over a white shirt, his hair left in a mess of casual unruly spikes. Across his face was a scar drawn in black ink, running from his right temple through his eye, and stopping just beside his nose. Just a small scar—yet somehow, Minegishi recognized him at once. They had met at a certain conference before. There was no mistake.

Ah 🥲, sometimes creating really can be such a headache 😖—especially when there’s so much else in life that needs to be handled. Finally carving out a bit of time, only to see no progress at all, can feel absolutely heartbreaking.

Sometimes, taking a break and going for a walk might actually help 🤔. I always tell myself—and my friends—that the act of creating is meaningful in itself. Refining and revising over and over is never a waste of time; it’s part of the creative journey.

I’ve often abandoned half-finished drawings or completely scrapped storylines I’d already written (which has led to my drafts folder turning into something truly terrifying 🥲🥲).

But every step you take in the creative process matters 🥰🥰🥰.

Writer Log

The fic is getting closer and closer to the finish line, but recently I’ve been hitting a pretty bad wall. TT^TT

I spent an entire week working on a scene, only to realize that it didn’t work well enough — not disastrously bad, but still not good enough. And I know it has the potential to be much better.

So, I decided to rewrite it. Today, I tried moving forward, wrote a few more paragraphs, then realized those plot points weren’t needed either, and ended up scrapping the whole thing. Another several hours of work, gone.

I’m also planning to revise the very first scene. It feels like I’ve climbed a hill, only to see there are still countless mountains ahead.

I think I should take a short break… even though I crave nothing more than finishing this fic.

Self-doubt is also incredibly annoying. I keep wondering: Does any of this even make sense? I’ve poured so much time and effort into it, but the result doesn’t seem to reflect all the sweat, blood, and tears.

I’m not a professional, or even a very experienced writer, I know that, and I don’t plan to become some literary master. So why do I bother so much?

It doesn’t help that I’m a very slow writer, with limited energy, and my progress feels like a turtle’s crawl.

I need to remind myself that even when the word count doesn’t increase, every trial and error is still part of the process. I’ve come so far — that’s for sure. I’ve already worked through more than 40k words (in Chinese), and I can keep going.

It’s not time to sprint to the finish line. That’s never been my strategy. I’ve always been slow and steady, but I never give up. That’s how I live, and that’s how I survive.

The day will eventually come.

Thinking about Suzuki Touichirou again. Sigh.

Characters like him are impossible to write. The story never comes easy.

Toichiro… and Shimazaki Ryou too—they’re like deep, still waters. You throw a stone in—your thoughts, your feelings, even yourself—and nothing ripples back.

You stare into the surface.

And it stares right back.

Every time I write a line of dialogue, or sketch even a hint of him, I end up watching him again.

I want to see him unravel.

I want to see what happens when all that overwhelming power burns through his mind.

I want to watch him sprint down the path he chose at thirteen, and see the age of fourteen—the one he’ll never reach.

I want to witness the way he watches the world, day after day.

And I want to see the moment he’s locked away, only to realize… the world is watching him, too.

Maybe none of it ever happened.

But the more you try to understand him, the more you drown in him.

Toichiro Suzuki just… quietly stares back at you.

What is he thinking?

He’s ice-cold.

And burning alive.

A short follow-up comic to《 One who keeps the promise 》by @hongherbac (Yes, that’s right—I really do love this one so much 🥰).

It’s super light and silly, basically just a gag comic. If you’ve seen the tag game piece I did before, you might realize why I was googling “singing toy flower” back then 😂

There’s also a little Easter egg featuring the Kageyama brothers at the end!

Anyway, everyone is just incredibly cute in this one! I really love drawing these tiny, chibi-style characters.

As for the lettering… I was too lazy to add English text this time… but honestly, I feel like you could totally understand the whole thing even without reading a single word 😘

Last song: When I found out about this game, I happened to be listening to Edge of My Life by Manafest. I love this song—it’s so energetic and perfect for finger-popping! I’ve even built story ideas and comics while listening to it. 🥰

Anyway, I’ve been watching Jujutsu Kaisen lately… I know it’s kind of ridiculous to just be getting into it in 2025, but hey. As for that ending—emmmm—I think I can live with it.

Last movie: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. I’m OBSESSED with this movie! The visual style and use of color are just stunning. It’s like pure emotion told through art and motion. 🥰

Favorite flavor: Apple! Apple-flavored ice cream, apple soda, apple coffee… I love it all. 😘

Tea or coffee: Neither, honestly. I prefer good plain boiled water.

Aaaaaaaah yes yes yes!! When will Hatori realize that bioelectricity is just another kind of electronic signal?! I was already thinking about this the first time I watched Mob Psycho 100!!!

If it were up to me, the power I’d want most is Hatori’s. It’s so useful!

But can you believe someone with a power like that has so little screentime—and barely any fans?! 🥲🥲🥲 You people seriously don’t know what you’re missing!

That said, let me share a little AU idea of mine!

In my version, Claw has already become a massive organization ruling the world. (Every time I remember how Toichiro Suzuki spent 20 years building Claw, only for it to be taken down in 3 episodes 😧, I literally feel my lungs exploding 😡.)

Each of the Ultimate 5 gets two assistants: one for combat, one for admin tasks.

For Hatori, I gave him a combat assistant with electromagnetic powers. Hatori tracks targets via electronic signals, and the assistant takes them out using electromagnetic pulses. (He can basically fry someone’s nervous system until it’s like “deep-fried grasshoppers” 😋😋😋😋.)

And since everything is remote-controlled through Hatori, he calls it “real-life battle gaming.”

Oh, and here’s a fun twist: this assistant is basically Shimazaki’s natural enemy.

His EM waves can overload Shimazaki’s brain with exponentially multiplying data streams—enough to completely crash his mind 🥲🥲.

But! To keep things balanced, I gave Shimazaki an assistant who’s basically a walking fortress of mental defense. Electromagnetic interference doesn’t work on him at all.

The catch? He still can’t block Shimazaki’s weird attacks, since Shimazaki’s “Clairvoyance” isn’t technically a psychic or mental-type power.

So the three of them kind of cancel each other out like rock-paper-scissors.

Also… Shimazaki’s two assistants? One’s deaf, and the other—the one with the absolute mental defense—is mute 😑.

It’s poetic. Balanced. Fair. 😉

Whenever Shimazaki and his team want to skip out on a mission, they just pretend they didn’t hear or see anything…

Sometimes these weird thoughts just pop into my head—like, is Hatori’s combat ability really that bad? 😅 I know that’s not even what his power is for（the purpose), but still, I can’t help wondering…

Did he ever have moments where he was secretly comparing himself to others?

Did he ever just break down and yell, “I want to have killing powers too!!”
