Just a place for me to drop my bjd photos, sewing projects, craftiness, ect. It'll be mostly bjd and doll related posts, but I might sneak in a bit of other crap here and there.

Do. Not. Pester. People. About. Having. Kids.
Some people don’t want children.
Some people can’t have children.
It’s none of your business why someone isn’t having babies. Don’t ask people when they’re going to have one. Don’t ask why not. Don’t try to get details or give advice and for the love of it all DON’T TELL SOMEONE THEY’D BE A GREAT MOM. Just leave it alone.

100% for this. Just wish she would have explained a little more about how being asexual and\or aromantic can work with intimate relationships in this video. She says she knows it can cause worry (anxiety) for people realizing they're asexual or aromantic, but instead of giving advice just says she doesn't have to deal with it. Being asexual myself, it would have helped so much to see a role model like this that clearly defined what it means and how to talk about it to friends and new acquaintances to avoid drama in the long run. Granted, your personal preferences on this topic are no one's business until you want it to be, but it can be extremely hurtful and stressful to be completely platonic and enjoying intimacy with someone only to find out they were only being your friend in hopes of dating you. I think it's important to empower confidence and give advice on how to handle a situation like that. I hope to see so much from her advocating Ace\Aro alignment, though, and I'm sure she'll go more in depth as time goes on.

“Asexual activist Yasmin Benoit talks to PinkNews about how she realised she was asexual, why the LGBT community needs to be more inclusive, annoying comments people make about asexuality, and why she’s embracing her asexuality as a proud, black model.“

Gotta love people who think women that don't wear makeup automatically look sick and think we should be caking it on to provide them, complete strangers, an illusion of how we actually look, but if they see a guy with to much chapstick, that's a whole different story.
“Nobody should be required to use beauty products to look professional!” Ok, Susan. Next time you go to a restaurant you tell me you don’t mind that the waitress who has the flu serves you food while looking into her sweaty face and at her red, swollen nose. Next time you go in for surgery have a talk with the surgeon who has bags under their eyes and looks like they’re on hardcore drugs due to their dry, split lips and irritated skin and tell me it’s not bothering you. Let’s be honest - none of us wants these illusions destroyed.

A friend of mine is getting married in a few months and I've never once heard her say a good thing about her man. She thinks it's funny to slam him in front of her friends, even though by all accounts, he's a genuine darling. I've had to stop her mid sentence so many times. It's shocking how many people think that's healthy behavior.
not to like make a huge fucking post about shit that’s been talked to death but it really genuinely scares me how many straight girls think it’s normal to just… not like your partner. like they think it’s normal and okay for their boyfriends to openly think they’re stupid and annoying and to be totally derisive about their interests and for them not to be friends or have things in common or enjoy each other’s personalities or encourage their interests? you are supposed to be friends with the person you’re in love with. you are supposed to want to talk to them about the things that make them happy. you do not have to settle for people who treat your entire personality as a burden outside of what you do to cater to them.

me: i like this thing! my brain: excellent, it’s your reason to live now. you won’t be able to think about anything else for a few days, weeks or even months. talking about virtually anything else will be a nightmare, but so will be talking about The Thing, because no one shares your level of enthusiasm. have fun!

This is my new favorite genre of disappointed Trump voter. Meet the Trump voter taking it in the teeth at tax time.

While I love the process she's teaching, this doesn't apply to everyone. I'm sitting on a storage unit full of my things and trying to sort out three estates worth of items to make room for them. Even if it doesn't make you happy, maybe keep some of the things that you will never use just to remember. Your past is a foundation that you stand on now.

What about buying recasts second hand (ie from people going legit or leaving the hobby)?
I dunno. I'm up in the air on this one. I thought about it, so that I could resize patterns for hard to shop for dolls, but ultimately decided that I didn't want recasts in my collection.
I worry a little about what will happen if there is more demand for secondhand recasts.
For myself, I only want legit dolls. I really don't think there is a good reason to order a new recast, considering all of the harm they bring. But If you feel a secondhand one is right for you, I would expect to see it tagged as a recast when you post pics. And make sure you trust the seller enough that they're actually going to go legit and not just selling their fake to get money for a new recast.
Anyone else have opinions on this? I'm a little burned out on the whole "debate".
