She's not even a girlboss by either definition. The technical one being "a female who succeeds in the male business world despite sex-based oppression" because you've got like - six female overloards in this one shot, and it's not known if they faced sex-based oppression to be there? Nor does she qualify for the social media definition I know of girl boss (feminst slay yas queen) because she works for Vox and Val.

Plus it's implied Vox is the most powerful of the three or maybe I'm thinking that because he's gotten the most screen time out of the three lmao.

Based on Viv’s tweet my headcanon is Vox is selling “Make TV Great Again” merch because Alastor started selling “Make Radio Great Again” merch.

Then Vox starts live-streaming the bombing of Cannibal Town people (poor allegories for Palestinians, Iranians, and other middle eastern ethnic groups) while shouting “booyah!” and “eat a bag of dicks, dumb shit!” when one visibly gets hit as he’s raw dogging Valentino. He also has a scoreboard and jokes about how kids are “triple points” because they’re so small, agile, and more easily able to squeeze through the rubble. Hitting a hospital or school is negative points not because it’s evil, but because it’s “too easy”. None of this will be dramatic or serious. Instead, it’ll have the tonal whiplash of Adam blowing up SP’s blimp and the scene where SP gets dragged off and raped.

Meanwhile, Alastor’s losing the battle of entertaining the residents of Hell because he’s not showing the visuals due to him being the radio demon and he suffers a bout of consciousness as to whether he should update his methods. THIS will be played seriously because it’s Alastor and despite being a cannibal he has feelings, y’all. Deep feelings. He’ll also enact a “Free Cannibal Town” uprising once his main arc is forgotten for this one midway or something and he’ll beat Vox because Charlie and the gang helps.

He then becomes President Alastor after a unanimous vote and brings peace to the warring nations while feasting on Vox’s corpse.

Oh yea - and sinners get redeemed or something… Maybe Husk.

(For those with two brain cells this is satire that’ll likely happen in some form or fashion knowing Viv.)

I’m s4 into The Good Place and as I’ve said before, it does Hazbin Hotel better on every level. Every one.

I’m also getting the feeling that aside from Vivienne lacking a Bible (see HoaB), she likely dumped the “redeeming sinners” route because to actually do that accurately through any religious lense, you have to have a solid comprehension of philosophy.

Each season and a character of TGB tackles the pros and cons of various philosophies, putting them to the test concerning redemption or even getting into heaven to begin with.

Considering Viv poorly researched the cultures and time periods of her characters that would build who they are as people which would create novel conflict *coughAlastorcough*, I think she found out pretty fast that her original concept would be extremely hard to pull off.

So instead, she went with “Armageddon fight the system” in a war-like way but that too requires a deeper understanding os sociopolitical past and current events to pull off. Especially since she’s comparing the current political stage to her second season. 💀

I feel like this is so tone deaf for so many reasons…

I highly doubt a show where you poorly executed the concept of genocide and rape are going to accurately tackle the complex world political stage and aspects of it… Especially a scenario that might lead to WW3.

Also, this feels more like she’s gloating about “badass the murder” from an AO3 fanfic more than like - being serious about the tone of her story (if it’s actually good) and focusing more on the atrocities going on?

Good reference for political themes in works by creators who handled public discourse about them with care: A:tLA, anything by Guillermo del Toro, A Bug’s Life, Wall-E, The Iron Giant.

Deadass feel like we’re going to get another Ken Penders echidna arc.
