The heat killed me today. I decided last minute that I didn't need nuun, water alone would be good enough. Absolutely the worst decision I will make today. Learned a huge lesson today as I was reminded that I'm not invincible and I still have to take care of myself on runs. This was supposed to be an easy run, it was not easy. In the last 100 ft of my race on Sunday I decided I wanted to pick off one more person before crossing the finish line. So I work at a motel. And one of my regulars heard that I was running a half marathon on this past Sunday. Well unbeknownst to me he drove for an hour at 7 in the morning on the day of, trying to get to the finish line so that he could cheer me on. Unfortunately he missed my finish by 20 minutes and I wasn't able to connect with him at the race but when I showed up to work after 2 days off he came into the office and gave me a bouquet of flowers to say congratulations! 😁 #runislife #teamrun4prs #feelingblessed #whodoesntlikeflowers

Well that was an amazing race. I ran my heart out and couldn't have done it without the amazing coach @victoria.phillippi The pacer from @insidetrackventura was phenomenal! Full of jokes and conversation for 9 miles, and when he realized that it was just me and one other guy when our group started with 25, he became the greatest cheerleader I never knew I needed! The last 5k was so freaking hard! 2 solid uphills that lasted 3 blocks! I was dying, so ready to tap out and recovery run the rest and as I tell the pacer thanks and I'll see him at the finish line, he turns and yells at me to get my ass back with him and our pacemate. 😂 In my humble opinion, I owe my PR to Chris the awesome pacer! Official time of 1:40:13 with a 4 minute and 20 second PR. Not to mention the 4 other press got today. 💪 I am so grateful to @run4prs and #teamrun4prs for everything! I began with the team in February 2017. 15 months, 2600 miles, 11 races and countless amazing runs later and I'm only getting hungrier. I'm so excited to see where I can go. Next up: 10k PR before my full marathon rematch in October. Shout out to the amazing @heatherfay_15 who ran the 5k event and managed are PR in the 5k and 2mile distance!
