As of a few days ago, Isla became my second character that I’ll never get to play again. The first is Eleanora.

As of tonight (05/04/25), Aislyn is my only character to have died twice and come back to life twice. She’s my only character into a deal and the only one to get out of a deal.

Also, as of tonight, she’s my only character to switch classes. She’s no longer a wizard / rogue. She’s now an arcane trickster rogue / light cleric.

I love creating DnD characters and character backgrounds. It’s so much fun.

I love the creativity I get to have with it. I used to write fan fiction and I used to roleplay so character creation lets me use those creative skills.

Here’s the names of my four characters with either a little fun fact or a couple fun facts about each of them:

Isla (human noble sorcerer) - my first ever Dungeons and Dragons character. My only character that almost had to make death saves in session 0 and 1. Also, my shortest character - 5’6”.

Mara (human noble sorcerer) - my only character that’s ever been used twice. (I made her for a weird one shot that I’d rather forget about and now she’s in a Curse of Strahd campaign.) My first character to ever have a relation to one of my other characters; Isla is her cousin.

Aislyn (half elf criminal wizard rogue) - my orphan character. My most chaotic character. My first ever multi-classed character. Also, my tallest - 5’8” and oldest character - 24.

Eleanora (variant human noble bard) - my newest character (for an upcoming campaign starting this summer) and my youngest character - 20.

I love each of them dearly. Poor Aislyn has the most trauma out of the four…. So far.

Aislyn and crew got to Phoenix Rest.

Abaddon shows up the night before while crew is at Fern’s parents’ house, resting, and apologizes for how she reacted to the whole Lathander situation. She tells a bit of her backstory, trying to say that her and Aislyn are similar. She begs Aislyn not to leave her. Both say apologies in advanced for what’s about to happen the next day; Abaddon apologizes for having to harm Aislyn in some manner while Aislyn apologizes for going to Phoenix Rest in the morning in order to break the deal.

Madam Abigail shows up at Phoenix Rest as the party gets sealed inside of the temple. She tries to warn Aislyn and the others that the monks plan to kill Aislyn. Aislyn, not wanting to hear it because she knows who Madam Abigail actually is and not being afraid of what’s going to happen, nods at the monks who take her and the crew further in.

Kassie starts freaking out about Aislyn dying again. Aislyn reassures her that she’ll be okay. The monks get the ceremonial weapon out and approach the pair. Aislyn looks at Kassie who is appalled at what Aislyn is asking her to do.

Kassie panics and threatens the monks if Aislyn doesn’t come back, blood will be shed. Aislyn calms her. Kassie apologizes to the party then proceeds with what has been asked of her.

Aislyn passes. She gets reunited with her mom briefly who is proud of her. Her mom tells her that she loves her and will be waiting for her.

Aislyn wakes up as a tricker rogue / light cleric with three fiends at the temple door… Madam Abigail (who now is revealed to the other players) as Abaddon and two others.

Aislyn told Kassie about Abaddon threatening her. She also explains that maybe it would have been better to die.

Kassie is concerned, but, suggested calling on Lathander. She also makes Aislyn do some affirmations after getting upset that Aislyn would dare say such a thing.

With the help of her mentor and friends, Aislyn is surrounded by protection from good and evil so Abaddon can’t trace this and contacts Lathander.

Aislyn starts crying and falls to her knees. She explains how she agreed to what Abaddon wanted. She talks about how she thinks that Callum is right for not wanting her because she’s too far gone. Aislyn ends her monologue that she’s unworthy and failed Lathander.

Lathander comforts her and tells her that she hasn’t failed him because he hasn’t asked anything of her. He just wants to help her if she’s willing and she very quickly agrees.

Before the connection ends, he says she needs to go to Phoenix Rest in the summer court and he will be there with her.

Only time will tell if Aislyn does get to Lathander…. Or not.

happy autism awareness day to all the girls who had “ friends” growing up who were actually bullying them . to the girls who always sat alone in the grass and wondered why nobody wanted to talk . to the girls who spoke to animals like they were listening . to the girls who created a little world in their room . to the girls who always felt ashamed for how deeply they love things and how passionately they enjoyed media . to the girls who covered their ears when they were overwhelmed by everything . to the girls who carrying a special thing around to feel safe . to the girls who never understood what they did wrong to feel so lonely . to the girls who were diagnosed later in life because they weren’t little boys who liked trains. you are so special and beautiful and you’re not worse for it, you love deeply and that is so wonderful please never try to push that down . I LOVE YOU !!!!!

Kinda wild how most people generally recognize that the "too sick to go to school, too sick to watch tv/play games" mindset our parents had was bullshit but still impose essentially the exact same rules on disabled adults and scrutinize them for enjoying low-energy hobbies while being too fatigued or in pain to work a full time job (or any job at all)

DnD update:

Well, uh, I guess I can add Isla to the list of characters that I’ll never get to play again. Ever.

This hurts so much worse than not playing Eleanora because Isla is my first character.

Isla was created for my first ever campaign that I was apart of that my… now absolutely creative ex best friend of 16 years created.

…. I guess I have to create some sort of ending for her because she deserves to have an ending. I’ll probably create it once… everything stops hurting/it doesn’t hurt when I think about Isla. She holds such a special place in my heart.

I’ll have to create an ending for Eleanora too.

And at some point in the future, another character will inhabit the blue text color and the pink text color….
