Mayuri stared down at the small..Person? Reindeer? In a way, he looked like one of her Uppas. She tilted her head, still puzzled, but decided to ignore it, stranger things had happened, so why not living reindeer uppas?

“It’s ok, Mayushi is just waiting here for a friend. But...” she looked around. Okarin was already a half hour late, meaning he’d probably forgotten. She looked back to the small figure. “You can sit next to me if you want.” Mayuri gestured to the stool next to her. It couldn’t hurt to make a new friend.

With a playful grin upon his face, Chopper walked toward the girl, hoping that she wasn't too busy to spend some time with him. He had been alone for some time, but for whatever reason, seeing her face alone made him feel as though his boredom could be easily relieved. "Hey!" He shouted out as he gently placed his hoof upon her knee, hoping to get her attention.

Mayuri heard someone shout and a pressure on her knee. She recalled Feyris’ advice for dealing with flirtatious people. She looked towards the speaker….and looked down. “Um er, hello.”

“Mayushii has new followers!!!!! Hi! Welcome!”

With a playful grin upon his face, Chopper walked toward the girl, hoping that she wasn't too busy to spend some time with him. He had been alone for some time, but for whatever reason, seeing her face alone made him feel as though his boredom could be easily relieved. "Hey!" He shouted out as he gently placed his hoof upon her knee, hoping to get her attention.

Mayuri heard someone shout and a pressure on her knee. She recalled Feyris’ advice for dealing with flirtatious people. She looked towards the speaker....and looked down. “Um er, hello.”

Mayuri rummaged through the books on the shelf, shifting them aside. She turned to Kurisu, “Hmm, maybe Chris-chan could look in the papers on the desk?” she turned back to the shelves and started reaching for the top shelf above her head.

“Yes that’s true… I’ll give him credit for that… but only that,” Although she said that she didn’t enjoy being in the lab the redhead didn’t mean her words. She loved being in the lab. It was really the only place she had closest to a home at this point. “Alright,” she responded as the other got off the couch and went to look for the rules to the game. “Need help looking?”

Haiiiiiiii! Did you miss me? Mayushii is sorry she was gone so long, but I really had to track down this Rai-net card! ((aka, the mun got sidetracked by family, school and too many jobs.))

Mayuri smiled as Okabe took the first sip of the drink. “Mayushii is just glad that she could be of use.” She started walking again, looking around at the few other people on this street. “Hey Okarin? If Dr. Pepper is the drink of intellectuals, what about other stuff?”

Okabe kept looking back to Mayuri as they walked down the streets. He was thankfully that the streets were much cooler in the Winter than in the Summer. His gaze flickered back from the street to Mauri, making sure she didn’t just vanish by wondering elsewhere. She had vanishing powers, Okabe was certain of it.

At her request, he sighed a little but a smile remained on his face. Nonetheless, he did as requesting, standing there with his eyes closed. Time passed slowly, he was sure of it, as he stood there awaiting the other’s return. His eyes opened when told and upon the sight of the drink, he laughed a little and took it from her.

“Ah! Doctor Pepper! The drink of intellectuals! You do make a good hostage!” 

He declared with a thankful smile on his face as he unscrewed the cap and too a swig of the refreshing fizzy beverage.

Mayuri’s face became downcast at Kurisu’s statement of having no interest in the lab. “But Chris-chan, without Okarin, we never would have met!” She smiled a bit. “Okarin tends to bring people together.” She turned back to the game in front of them thinking about how best to explain the rules. “Umm maybe you should read the directions.” She reached for the box only to find it empty. “Ummmmmm, hold on! I’ll find them!” She left Kurisu on the couch, and started rummaging through the books to see if the rule sheet had gotten used as a bookmark.

“C-Close? As if, if he weren’t running those experiments all the time I would have no interest in this place,” she sighed and took a seat on the couch. “Of course I would still be friends with you Mayuri-chan. I just can’t stand Okabe sometimes/” Although she says that she actually enjoyed the company of Okabe, but that would be something she would never admit. Unless she accidentally slips up and says that aloud one day. “You may have to refresh me on the rules it’s been a while since I’ve played.”

Mayuri looked at Ruka with her usual head tilt. She didn’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to see the gorgeous Ruka in a pretty outfit. “It’s you Ruka-kun, the dress wouldn’t look as good on anyone else. You’re like a work of art!” She smiled up at him and noticed the tears in his eyes and wondered if she had pricked him with her needle. Mayuri stood up and looked down at the floor in thought. “Well...I can help you with the chores if you want? Then we can show up together.” She smiled encouragingly.

    ⋨ Ruka obediently did as he was told, despite feeling uncomfortable with her working on the dress as he wore it. He just hped she was telling the truth when she said she was almost done. At her question, violet eyes averted. ❝B-Because it’s…just me wearing the dress. What’s there to be excited about?❞ A sigh passed his lips, his hands clasping together in front of him as she finished up. ❝Y-Yeah I did. The dress…looks great.❞ He shook his head and simply turned away at the question, tears filing his eyes. ❝It’s because…I-I don’t think I’m going to the barbecue…I-I have some chores to finish up around the shrine and…and…❞ ⋩

“You and Okarin sure are close huh Chris-chan?” Mayuri said as she cleared off the table. She had to run around and put away a few things the boys had left laying there. She quickly put books back on the shelves and threw away garbage, then set about setting up the game. She motioned for Kurisu to have a seat on the old but comfortable couch.

As Mayuri suggested Rai-Net Kurisu nodded, “Yeah, I’ve played it with Okabe… He was a terrible opponent though. He has no idea how to think strategically.” Kurisu won in the first few minutes against Okabe he was really the only opponent she was comfortable going against because she knew she could win. Kurisu glanced at the box then back at Mayuri, “We can play a round if you want.”

Mayuri walked and occasionally watched Okabe. She was glad he had decided to come out with her. She spotted some vending machines and got an idea. “Okarin, stay right here and close your eyes! Ok?” She didn’t wait for an answer and instead raced to the machines, fumbling in her purse for some change. She fed it to the machine and pushed the button for Doctor Pepper.

Mayuri walked quickly back to Okabe, careful not to shake the drink and held it out to him. “You can open your eyes now!:”

As he entered out into the street, he covered his eyes for a moment, blinded by the sun. How long had it been since he last went outside for him to react like that? In the end, he laughed the question off and walked with Mayuri. It was silent for a while but a comfortable silence of two enjoying each other’s company.

“It has been quite a while….”

He openly admitted in a casual tone, his hands in his pockets. He had to admit in private that he certainly missed this.

“Mhm, sorry it will take so long.” She smiled apologetically at Kurisu. “What should we do while we wait?” She looked around for something, but rejected every idea. She could go back to sewing, but that would be boring for Kurisu. Mayuri looked around for something and her eyes landed on the Rai-Net box. “Have you ever played Rai-Net before Chris-chan?”

“Hm?” She wasn’t sure how she made the lab more fun, but happy to hear Mayuri say that. “Well I’m glad you enjoy yourself,” she smiled at Mayuri. As they entered the lab Kurisu watched Mayuri fill the bucket with water, and Kurisu took the pink clothing out of the basket preparing to drop it in the bucket. “You said we have to wait 45 minutes right?” Kurisu looked over at Mayuri to confirm.

“Nope, just hold still a little bit more, Mayushii is almost done!” She pinned it a bit more here and there and quickly made the adjustments. She looked up at ruka, hearing the sadness in his voice. She tilted her head, “Why wouldn’t he be excited? Ruka-kun looks great in our creation!” She smiled, only thinking about how great Ruka would look in the dart at the barbecue. To her, he looked like some kind of fairy. She bit off the end of her string and stood up. “There! All done! Have you looked in a mirror yet?” Mayuri thought for a moment before speaking again, her head tilted once more in thought. “You know... if you like it and lke how you look, does it matter what Okarin thinks?”

      ⋨ He remained still as she circled him, shifting uncomfortably. ❝Y-Yeah…you did really well on making the dress…❞ Ruka struggled to remain still as she began to tug at the dress. ❝H-Hey..maybe I should take it o-off first…❞ The ravenette muttered, falling silent when she mentioned everyone seeing him like this…she didn’t really expect him to wear this to the party right? ❝Mayuri…I don’t think he’ll be excited as you think…after all it’s..only me that’s going to be wearing this dress…❞ ⋩

At the sound of Ruka’s voice, Mayuri rushed back in. When she saw Ruka, she gasped in delight and started circling him to investigate the fit. “It looks amazing Ruka-kun! It just needs some adjustments here and here, hold still.” She took out her portable sewing kit and started tugging here and there to adjust it. She spoke around a needle and pin in her mouth, “Everyone is going to be so suprised! Okarin is going to be really happy.”

       ⋨ A gasp of surprise escaped from Ruka’s lips as the dress was thrust toward him. He watched her wordlessly as she attempted to reassure him and fled from the room. Ruka just stood with the dress in his hands for several silent moments as a sudden realization struck him…had she just said all of that in order to get him to wear the dress? Of course she did… Regardless the ravenette changed into the dress as he said he would. It fit him nicely as he predicted, and it actually covered his body well…but he couldn’t possibly wear it to the barbecue. ❝U-Um…Mayuri…I-I’m done…❞ ⋩

“Mayushii is glad to have another girl around. I don’t always understand what Okarin and Chris-chan talk about, but you make it more fun!” She grinned at Kurisu. She didn’t mind too much that she couldn’t understand their talks, but it was fun for her anyway. Mayuri turned a corner and there was the lab door. “Tuturuu! Here we are.” When they got up stairs, Mayuri pulled out the bucket from the shower and filled it up with water.

“I see, well I’m glad you enjoy your work,” Kurisu looked over at the other and nodded. She was glad to see Mayuri enjoyed herself at work. Kurisu noticed that she felt left out in the lab, so Mayqueen seemed like a good place for Mayuri to spend her time. “Working with Okabe is… frustrating,” Although she enjoyed the lab, and spending time with all the other members she still couldn’t stand receiving all these ridiculous nicknames Okabe gave her, and was even more frustrated constantly being referred to his assistant. “I guess it’s fun once you get used to it,” she was wondering if she should leave the labcoat pink to get back at Okabe for all the teasing he directed at her.
