Your whole life, you had always scoffed at the phrase “all of my choices have lead me here”. But, staring at your childhood best friend with tears stinging in your eyes and a heavy lump in your throat, you couldn’t help but wonder what you could have said and done differently to avoid ending up here. You would do anything, say anything in order to avoid this exact situation. You had a hard time looking at him, knowing that his heart was just as broken as yours was.

It sometimes felt like yesterday that all of this had happened to you. You could remember the day you met Tom and Harrison as if it were only yesterday. It was the only early memory you had left, thanks to childhood amnesia. You were no older than three years old when your dad, a born and raised Englishman, decided it was high time to pack up your lives based in Jud North Dakota (population seventy-five, including your small family of three) and move back to his hometown in Kingston.
