it is so important that you are a little bit ugly. please get comfortable with having unplucked eyebrows and nonexistent jawlines and wrinkles. let your blue hair grow out into an uneven pale green and your clothes be old and mend them and modify them until they’re unique to you. wear lipstick which doesnt compliment your skintone and mismatched outfits which went out of fashion 5 years ago. be a little bit too loud and a little bit too passionate and as weird as you can be because oh my god there is nothing more disturbing to me than perfection. beauty is manufactured and sold to us and you need to realise that you are a fucking animal to live a joyful life I am so serious. you cant obsess over aesthetics forever please just live messily and make your body your home however you please.

a bad show? that's nothing? a good show? sure. but a bad show that, for a brief moment, becomes very good, and then never is again? that'll drive a person to madness

i think mash had only 2 real choices where frank was concerned: give his character growth to bring him to the same level of depth as the other characters, or let him stay the show’s 1-dimensional punching bag and ultimately leave when the show’s tone shifted.

i don’t mind having a character that’s easy to hate but this scene was, to me, a glimpse of what could have been the start of a fascinating character arc. but would it have defeated the purpose of a character like frank for him to grow as a person?

this was the most unexpected aspect of season 5 to me! the three of them laughing together (sometimes at frank) is the dynamic i didn’t realize was missing until it was there
