Yeah you're right. It WOULD be pretty fucked up if you were a swan but you were raised by ducks and you grew up never seeing another swan or even knowing that such a thing as a swan even existed so you just thought you were a duck with something super wrong with it.

I have no idea if this is actually logistically possible but this is what Id like to see for pjo tv show Aphrodite

Her looks shouldn't be stagnant. Have more than one actress play her. They could do 2 things with this

Have her change her appearance depending on whose she's talking to, according to their preferences. Ie a certain seaweed brain may see a beautiful woman that reminds him of Annabeth, Ares may see a fierece war goddess, Annabeth may see someone with deep seafoam eyes and curly hair ect. It doesn't even need to be that specific, could just be what that character finds beautiful or lovely (ie Percy could see his mother) This could show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that beauty comes from love. Also opportunities for awkward confessions that people saw Aphrodite as someone similar to who they know.

Have a handful of different actresses playing her and just have fun switching between them, extra points for changing them slightly or giving them new looks/hairstyles/outfits ect. This can represent the always evolving and changing beauty standards. They could even play with it and show her wearing historical/clothing from different eras and cultures. It shows range and that sometimes fashion is a cycle.

I would also accept an actor in a veil, or only showing part of her (kind of like what they did with Medusa), and maybe have the characters around her describe her features as all different.

I also don't think they need to keep it to just actresses! Beauty and love comes in all forms.

The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him

I genuinely suspect a reason for them making them miss the deadline in the pjo tv series is that they didn't want to reveal too many of the gods so early on. That would be a lot of casting and they probably want to save the reveal for some of them later on. That and they've shown all the male Olympians, so they've given us a decent amount already
