Hi! I was looking at some of Marius’ lore and I saw that Kofi planned to write a album based on Marius’ backstory back in 2020, was this ever completed?

The Death of Byron Von Raum, so far as I know, is still in production but in somewhat of a hiatus period/put on the backburner for now. Kofi / @/neitherabaron posted an update on their blog a while back, which you can find there!

In the meanwhile, while it may not be Marius Von Raum Lore, Kofi does have a ko-fi and posts music there regularly!

Join Kofi Club! There are a lot of really good songs posted to it that I'm a very big fan of! I've joined at the 2 dollar teir myself, which gives access to everything!

holy shit you guys

we launched the kickstarter for High Noon Over Camelot yesterday evening and as of me writing this post we’re exactly 90% to our base goal. In less than 24 hours! I’m putting this in the tag from my own personal tumblr rather than as The Mechanisms because the combination of exhaustion from last night and my surprise at how fast this is moving is making it impossible to think of an appropriate way to comment on this as the band rather than as myself. 

I just think it warrants a huge thank you, I suppose. Speaking as someone who is both not often moved to strong emotions, nor is ever especially keen to express said emotions; it’s… Indescribable for me right now. I wanted to say “humbling,” but being humbled implies that your pride is wrong and arrogant.

I don’t believe that’s true of how I’m feeling right now.

I am so incredibly proud. We’ve worked hard and grown as musicians, as writers, and as performers and that’s something we could never have hoped to do without your support. In the years we’ve been together we’ve grown from a bunch of nerds performing music that is decidedly alright to our friends, to a bunch of nerds performing to people we don’t recognise who come and see us because they honestly enjoy what we do. I’m not saying we’re about to start filling 1,000+ capacity venues, but it was certainly a new and exciting experience for me - having someone ask me if The Mechanisms had performed yet, having no idea that I’m one of said Mechanisms.

HNOC is, in my opinion, the best thing we’ve written so far, (I’m not just saying that because I’m steadily increasing the amount of songs and dialogue I get in each set,) and I feel comfortable speaking on behalf of the entire band when I say that we’re excited to polish it to our complete satisfaction and share it with you all in its finished form.

This is perhaps a post that should wait until we’ve actually hit our funding goal, or until the campaign is over, but I’m on my way home from Oxford and I’m truly blown away. All I can say is thank you so much. To our friends and our fans who’ve supported us this long and who’ll hopefully continue to stay by us unless we do something awful like become white supremacist MRAs. In which case it would be completely understandable if you decided to wash your hands of us and burn our CDs and protest our shows.

And if you missed last night’s debut, try not to despair! We’re doing what we can to make sure there’ll be more performances of HNOC before we take it up to the Fringe. And then, of course, there is the Edinburgh Fringe.

Thank you all again. I feel like I can’t say it enough.

Does anyone perchance have a better image of this poster? It appears to be a ticket bifrost design as opposed to the typical postcards I have seen before!

EDIT: me and @alientoastt were chatting about it, and we're certain it has to be the back of the map brochure pictured here, and I have realized in horror I don't have a good image of this side either. Can anyone help?

and ALSO OH MY GOD THE SHIRT! A PHOTO OF THE SHIRT. IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A PHOTO OF THE SHIRT FOR 4 YEARS NOW.

until RIGHT NOW this screenshot I discovered in the depths of an old discord server was the only proof of T-shirt: Aurora Logo existing! The wayback machine did not save the merch listing, so the smaller image (of what was on the back) is lost media.

we can see from this zoomed section it read The Mechanisms, in a particularly fascinating font i haven't seen used anywhere else!

painted a mechanisms t shirt !!!! wanted it to look like the one ben below is wearing in this photo and clearly it didn't come out perfect but I still like it :)

I, Travis @garecc / @gunpowderdtim, have an exciting new announcement to make!

My best friend, compatriot, and occasional comrade in archival wonder @bird-brainz has started a new blog that will fascinate and compel many a fan of steampunk bands:

which is, at it looks on the tin, another steampunk band archive project! This time, for Steam Powered Giraffe. I, Travis, will be assisting with it* as I have with mechs, but my beloved bestie Robin is the (bird) brains of the operation this time around!

Robin / @bird-brainz helped with this grand mechanisms archive some as well! He formal job title was Assistant In Crime. His new job title is Head Archivist Of The Giraffe Institute
