I like changing typical dynamics. With my Krisjure fic, I flipped the typical dynamic of Kris being the responsible one and Jure being the class clown to one where Jure takes a more responsible role and Kris gets to be the more carefree one.

Jesse, aka Jeskiedes. That man lives rent-free in my head right now, and there's so much potential to explore. I sort of want to write more of him in Finnish, but me and Finnish is what it is, and I want to know more about him so I can nail his character properly.

So I am finally doing this, sorry for the wait.

It’s easier than Jure thought to be able to pretend like everything is fine even as his heart is breaking. (Under dimmed lights, chapter 6)

It’s late in the afternoon, or rather early in the evening, in the middle of June, and Kris is not really drunk. (Sweet Moments)

It’s just another regular Thursday night in Vrhnika. (Secret Indulgence)

Nace had downloaded Tinder as a dare months ago and had given it a try, but had not thought it was for him. ("Me and Nace met on Tinder")

The photos Damon took of Kris are a hit with the fans, and now Bojan is off with Damon to take even more photos. (Behind Closed Doors)

It’s a rainy day in Ljubljana, and Jan is miserable like a wet cat. (Hidden Depths, chapter 2)

“Fuck,” Jan lets out a disappointed sigh, running a nervous hand through his hair as he looks at the sums on the spreadsheet. (Future Mister Peteh-Jordan)

Conclusions:

Present tense is where it's at for me.

My favorite one is "Bojan takes a deep breath.", because it's so simple and powerful on its own. Second favorite is "It's just another regular night in Vrhnika.", but that's because of what happens after the sentence and it lulls the reader into a false sense of security and I really liked that trick.

I've only started one fic with dialogue, which is a good thing since it has an error that's glaring at me right now.

The latest updates all start with "it", and all in all 5/10 start with the word "it" so I guess that's a trend. Time to challenge myself to be more creative!

First line tag game

Bojan keeps pulling Jan's hair on stage.

“Please, Nacko,” Jan begged from his place on the couch.

Allowing themselves to buy so many sweets for their movie date wasn't that good of an idea to begin with.

Bojan and Jure had been dating for... well, quite a while now.

If Jan was being honest, he wasn't much of a fan of the beach.

One thing was the inevitable brush with some people on a crowded dance floor, and quite another was all those people who were not-so-accidentally touching Bojan while he was dancing.

Jere was curled up in bed, mindlessly scrolling on his phone while some random reality show played on the back, but he wasn't paying attention to any of that.

The guys had come to Bojan's apartment to help him decide on an outfit for an interview he had that day.

Bojan was nearing an anxiety attack.

They had been strolling around a lake, holding hands and admiring the beautiful spring landscape, full of blooming flowers that gave it a nice touch of color.

Bonus - my JureKris wip basically everyone knows about atp but I can't finish for my life (I'm sorry): Kris had never wanted to be fucked by Jure more than in that exact moment.

Conclusion: idk what to say tbh, but I don't think I really follow any pattern here? Some of these are short sentences, while others are longer. Some go straight to the point, and some others don't really tell you anything about the plot so... idk if anyone would be like oh I have to read this after just the first line y'know 🤔. I can still tell which fic each of them are from, but that's probably because I wrote them lmao. Also, it doesn't really have to do with the sentences, but I do write A Lot of different ships lol. Just with the 10 fics mentioned here we have bo(jan)², jance, bojure, janjure, bojere, poly!JO, bonace and jurekris like... wtf aghsbxjsbsj

Summary:

Kris grapples with endings and the art of letting go, identity and communication of untitled feelings, variations of love, trust and the process of outgrowing your hometown. All while being unable to stop fantasizing about his best friend or quit smoking other people’s cigarettes.
