made a little mushroom spirit for one of my coworkers' birthdays!! 🍄🍄‍🟫🧡

i followed the "quinn the little mushroom" pattern by CritterStitchDesigns on etsy!!

materials used:

k+c cotton yarn in white, cream, and orange, 9mm safety eyes, polyfil stuffing, and a 3.5mm crochet hook!

i need to make a little mushroom sprite in every color of the rainbow now i love him so much 🥹

so i ran out of time to make my own pattern for kakashi because i spent all my time working on gai's butt so for kakashi i followed the "team seven fun size pattern" (with some of my own minor modifications) by mykwonders on etsy!! i'm still somehow working through the last of my k+c cotton yarn, and i worked the whole piece with a 3.5mm hook :)

i made this guy (haha) with my own pattern!! if i can figure out how to clean up my notes and make it look pretty i'll release it for free so y'all can go forth and make your own caked up gais 😂

i just invented a cathedral rose window granny square pattern and i feel insane now

major crochet brainstorming happening for an artists' event i'm going to participate in 👀

i think i want to try making ball/bead joint dolls specifically— i like how posable they are, and the bead joints add a certain aesthetic flair!!!!

but like. how detailed do i want to be? do i want to do easy breezy simple only elbow and knee joints? do i want to add them in for ankles and wrists too? well, what about shoulders?? hips??? it would add lots of room for expressiveness if i add wrists, but i think ankles would mess with stability?

and i definitely don't want to separately crochet each piece of clothing— only outerwear things like jackets and shoes, but like pants and shirts would just be the yarn color on the doll base itself.

removable heads? ehhhhh probably not. but also maybe?

also this will be my first time ever crocheting dolls 😂

so tomorrow is my boss's last day before she retires and i'm going to miss her so much so i decided to make her a set of poppy coasters since she loves flowers 🥹🥺😭

i followed nengurumi's free youtube pattern "crochet poppy flower tutorial" (youtube link in the replies!!) with some of my own modifications for the coasters themselves, and i freehanded the basket to hold them!

i used more of my sadly dwindling stash of k+c cotton yarn for the poppies (once again, rip joann's 🥲🥲🥲) and i used some hemp twine i had laying around for the basket!

one of my coworkers brought sunflower starts to the library the other day and i nabbed them so i'm making her sunflower coasters as a thank you!!!! 🌻🌻🌻

i'm following the "2-in-1 Sunflower & Chamomile Coaster Set Crochet Pattern" pattern by CandyyarnShop on etsy for them!! i'm using a thicker yarn (my leftover k+c cotton yarn, RIP joann's 🥲) and 4mm hook though so i dropped a row from the center of the flower to accommodate the size change and i think they're coming out so cute!!!!

awww getting a little teary 🥹 my grandpa just sent me a photo of a certificate from an australian arts exhibition in 1925 where his great-grandmother earned a bronze medal for HER crochet 🥹❤️

how wonderful to know that people in my family who i never had the chance to meet loved the same crafting technique that i do 🥹🥹🥹

GUYS OKAY OMG

firstly, pattern writing is HARD i've frogged so much work so many times, major accolades to all of you who write patterns frequently 😭❤️

secondly, my light dragon pattern is ACTUALLY COMING TOGETHER

like i'm not even done with her head and i don't have anything written for other pieces except the eyelashes, but it's already starting to look like her head!!!!!!!

i loved following crochetdollsbyfifi's light dragon pattern so so much it gave me the courage to try writing my own, and i think i underestimated how much crochet knowledge i've picked up over the years because even though writing the pattern is HARD, i'm still doing it!!!!!! i'm finding success!!!!!!!!!

after my pattern is all done (it's going to take me a long time lmao) i think i'm going to adjust it to make the other three dragons too :) but god i have NO idea how i'm going to go about making farosh's horn; i can make a flat lightning bolt but her horn is flat the other way and i really don't want to make a bunch of flat panels and sew them all together 😭 if anybody has tips for me on how to make a weird shape like that with minimal sewing i would love love love to hear them!!!!

I'm only saying this for your sake, but objectively, it's not a smart idea to bring politics into normal hobbies. You might lose supporters of your blog just because of your political stance, and that would be terrible since you're so amazing!! It's only a suggestion, but I really reccomend not bringing politics into anything.
