7 minutes in heaven with Cloud Strife

here y/n is a part of Avalanche and is one of the youngest member (around 19-20 years old)

note: this is my 'first' real fanfiction/oneshot so… I hope you’ll like it! Feedback is appreciated ^^

Avalanche just made it back to the Seventh Heaven after a successful mission. Tifa and the other decided to celebrate it by having a little party!

One thing led to another and there you were, all sitting around a bottle to play 7 minutes in heaven, much to Cloud’s discontentment —who got dragged into this without his consent—.

Being the youngest one playing, you’re the one who starts the game by spinning the bottle. "Here goes nothing…" You mumble under your breath. You watch it as it spins for a few seconds before slowly stopping and landing on… Cloud. His eyes widened slightly as he noticed the bottle pointing towards him. But before he could say anything, Tifa grabs both of your arms to lead you towards a closet and pushes you both inside with a giggle. "Enjoy your time together!" She hums with a sweet smile as she closes the closet door, leaving you both alone in the dark and confined place.

"So…" You start, trying to break the silence.

"Don’t bother." Cloud cuts you, still a hint of softness in his voice despite his stern tone

"I’m sorry you got dragged into this."

Cloud stays quiet for a few moments

"What are we even supposed to do?" Cloud asks, crossing his arms against his chest.

"Well… We are supposed to make out." You answer him, suddenly feeling a bit shy. Cloud turns his head away from you, cheeks getting hot.

"We don’t have to, we can just talk—"

Before you could finish your sentence, Cloud cuts you again. "No, it's fine. I— We can make out." His voice goes soft again, whispering the last few words.

"Are you sure?" You were about to ask when Cloud turned his heels towards you and grabbed you by your waist, pressing you against him. He looked at you with his blue puppy eyes, waiting for you to take the first step. You enjoyed the look of him for a few seconds more before leaning in and pressing a kiss to his lips.

When you pulled back, he was looking at you again. "That felt… Nice." He admitted.

You nodded and pulled him back for another kiss.

The seven minutes passed quickly and soon enough, Tifa was back to open the closet. When you both heard the door open, Cloud quickly pulled away in surprise. Tifa was already peeking, "Am i interrupting something?" she smiled while letting out a small giggle. Cloud looked away, face burning red while you let out an awkward laugh, "No, not at all" you lied. Cloud was the first one to leave the closet while you followed behind.

During the rest of the night, you could see him steal glances at you.

The night ended and you all went to bed. You couldn’t shake tonight’s event off your mind, remembering the feeling of his lips against yours. And on his side, Cloud was thinking the same, silently wishing it would’ve lasted longer. He let out a sigh, moving to lay on his side as he closed his eyes to get some sleep. Maybe tomorrow he will build up enough courage to ask you out.

Headcanons for Cloud Strife having a crush on you

𓂃 Cloud doesn’t realize at first that he’s caught feelings for you

𓂃 When his palms get sweaty, his pulse gets quicker, he still thinks it’s due to stress

𓂃 But after laying in bed for a moment without being able to fall asleep, that’s when it hits him.

𓂃 At first, he does nothing, even try to distance himself a bit

𓂃 But at some point he starts giving you small signs; his sight staying on you a second too long… Giving you a small squeeze when he has to hold your hand…

𓂃 Though, if you give him signs back, he will probably be too oblivious to see them.

𓂃 He will probably give a small pout if someone gets too close to you… He’s jealous, but he won’t say it outloud

𓂃 Cloud is so stubborn that if someone asks him if he likes somebody he will immediately deny it even though you’re the first person he thinks about when he wakes up

𓂃 Though, Tifa will eventually realize it and give him advices "The person you like, you should ask them out!" To which Cloud will immediately turn his head away to hide his pinkish cheeks and quickly refuse the idea

𓂃 You will probably have to take the first step to confess because Cloud is way too stubborn to confess first

𓂃 If you don’t tell him clearly he will probably be too oblivious to understand

𓂃 "I like you." You tell him. His eyes widen slightly at your words and a soft shade of pink dust his cheeks as he stays speechless in front of you.

𓂃 After a few seconds, he will finally recover. "I like you too…" He answers, looking at a spot on the wall behind you to avoid looking at you.
