I’ve eaten his heart
For the sole reason that he
Shall not devour mine

My flesh and my soul

Text
Some secrets should remain secrets
Even to yourself
Once the words pass your lips, they become real
No longer just a slew of memories you silently harbor,
but a true part of your psyche that you must turn and face
But if it’s buried, muffled, and smothered
Perhaps you can enjoy one more day of safety
The nightmares are mere illusions,
And the dirty sensations will try to claw their way up your throat, ooze out from between your clenched teeth, and they will brush across your skin
But it hasn’t happened yet
You are safe hiding behind denial
Because it hasn’t truly happened
No, not yet
You haven’t faced it yet
And you will remain in limbo, caught between what normality used to be and what it is now
But at least you are safe
Because no one knows, and it’s your secret to keep
