I’ve been so incredibly busy of late, it’s atrocious to my scheduled musings. I’m sorry to all who were enjoying  habit of following them when they started.

That being said, this is a very casual tumblr that I hope to develop into a little side library, so we’ve got all the time in the world.

Our show at Mergearts has come and gone, and we’re back to our routine at the office. Expect to see the return of my musings. Onward and upward, my friends.

Inspiration: River of LIfe (Series under Production)

Drawing while: Contemplating the Future of the Studio, and if I’m ever going home.

Prominent thoughts: The colors were a pretty important focus since RoL is a lot more vibrant than SCREAM SHOOTER, but not as graphically intense as DiCE. Rarely are the true colors going to be visible outside of specifically highlighted areas or elements. Serves as a great color test.

Before I was musing, I was: Working on a couple new production concepts and ideas

WHY: The truth? I just wanted to draw Cozelle and Kosei.

UPDATE: 8/12/2015

Due to a pretty intense cold that hit more for a majority of the weekend (and seems to be persisting, though not as aggressively), I was unable to complete and post my musing from last week. What times I was feeling up to art and production were focused towards either SCREAM SHOOTER or our studio as a whole, so I wanted to make  simple apology for that.

HOWEVER, I did get near completion on the musing, an would like to finish it. Don’t be too surprised if you see 2 musings pop up this weekend instead of just one.

☥VISUAL OF THE WEEK☥

Inspiration: Rogue (X-Men), specifically her classic look.

Location:  Private Meløn Chambers

Music while drawing: Theme of Rogue -Yuki Iwai, Them Legz -Kariu the Gameboy, Kitsch (TTT2 Concept) -Kariu the Gameboy, Theme of Gambit -Yuki Iwai, Them of Cyclopsogue -Yuki Iwai

Drawing while: Sweating my ass off in agony. It’s just too hot tonight.

Prominent thoughts: Her hair is clearly still not big enough. It’s fine for a musing, as I want to keep these from becoming too complicated or overworked. But I see myself adjusting it in the future.

Before I was musing, I was: Writing notes and working on SCREAM SHOOTER designs (I hope to share some here maybe.)

WHY: As far as X-men go, Rogue an Gambit were always my favorite characters. I can probably attribute that to my mother, who was my main gateway into Marvel comics and cartoons, and always had an equal affinity. Favoritism and nostalgia drove this one.

Drawing while: Going over SCREAM SHOOTER notes and perusing old sketches and notes from a couple other projects.

Prominent thoughts: It’s 2AM Saturday morning, which tends to be a very “self-reflective” time for me.

WHY: My issues have been giving me a hard time the last couple of days, and yesterday it ended up disrupting what would otherwise have been a very convenient and relaxed trip around town.  The other two aren’t causing me as much trouble as they used to, but they still seem to be divided between themselves, leaving me in the crossfire. So, I’m going to attempt a new tactic and this is to commemorate it.

☥VISUAL OF THE WEEK☥ I want to try a new format with these descriptions. Since these drawings are in fact, musings, I want to share exactly what is effecting my mental state as I create these. I hope this will lend to a deeper understanding of me as an “individual”, at least to those who are interested in more than just my lines (if such people exist.)

Inspiration: Hana Midorikawa (best girl from Kangoku Gakuen/Prison School. Absolutely love the manga, anime looks great)

Music while drawing: Girls on Film -Duran Duran, True Survivor - David Hasslehoff, Higher than the Sun [12″ vinyl]- Primal Scream, Do it Right- Harmonized 2Step Mix- Sota feat. Ebony Fay, Private Eye- Atomsoak feat. Cerol

Drawing while: Eating an AMAZING box of cookies and melon cake one of my closest friends baked for me as part of a beautiful get-well arrangement. I had recently suffered a minor concussion and was hospitalized, so truly a blessing to have such a person in my life that cares.

Prominent thoughts: Excitement for the production of SCREAM SHOOTER, my studio’s current in-house animation project, with shades of relief that I’m alive and working again.

Before I was musing, I was: Entertaining a friend and art associate, discussing SCREAM SHOOTER and other various projects.

WHY: I think half the reason I drew Hana is because I wanted to draw in my natural hand, not the bubbly cartoon style I use for Fanart or the more streamlined look I’ve been using with SCREAM SHOOTER. Plus, she’s adorable yet perfectly psychotic as well. I love her hair and have wanted to draw her for some time.

This isn’t exactly a visual musing, but I wanted to make a post relating to my animated series SCREAM SHOOTER, which thanks to perseverance and tenacity, begins pre-production today! This is a picture included in the Synopsis Bible for the series. I think it really captures Jim Drone’s demeanor as an ex-military cop that’s really some terrible things. His stare conveys a lot, and that’s something I hope to do a lot in SCREAM SHOOTER: Set the mood through character expressions and motifs.

This week, I give you a little tribute to my favorite musical artist of all time.

The OMODAKA project attempts to take classic Japanese folktunes and stylings, and bring them to the modern day realm. Though generally an independent artist who runs the recording label FAR EAST RECORDINGS, he is also responsible for MANY years of musical classics, with his rise to fame in Japan beginning in the mid-70s and through the 80s. His appeal hit America through his partnerships with SONY Computer Entertainment as a Musical Composer and Producer for what was and in many ways still is a flagship franchise of SONY.

With his forever-classic synth sounds and uniquely perfected breakbeats, along with the OMODAKA project’s aesthetic blend of visual and audio bliss, it’s no wonder those who have heard the man’s music praise him as a true pioneer of Electronic and House music.

So who is he? Well, if you don’t know now maybe the time to look up some info and see just what you’re missing!

This portrait of the infamous hero of the Kingdom Hearts series is a submission for a digital zine called One Sky/100 Destinies, located here on tumblr. I implore you  to check it out, and even submit something. This is my first time drawing Sora in his KH3 outfit, I have to say the more I look at it the more it grows on me. The checkered-pattern on the collar is a nice little feature I hadn’t noticed until I drew this bust.

Welcome One, Welcome All!

I hope this blog is pretty self-explanatory. I’m going to dedicate at least 1 post a week to a drawn piece of art and post it here. I’m honestly holding zero criteria for what the context of what I post will be. If I drew it, it qualifies to go on the blog for the week. I hope in time I’ll have a nice collection of miscellaneous and recent artworks here for all to enjoy. And with that, let’s begin. Also note that there will be “at least” one post a week regarding artwork.
