FNaF Timeline and Lore

(anything before secret of the mimic was unknown or vague, so im not dwelling on that much)

(Also, everything was written in chronological order.)

(This was all meant to be game canon accurate, and I've filed the gaps with my own headcanons, so whatever I haven't written, its already said or shown in the games)

-William Afton had met someone and gotten her pregnant and so they married. The kid they had was Michael Afton. He loved Michael, but also hated him because he was stuck in a marriage because of Michael.

-they moved from Britain to America, specifically, New Harmony, Utah.

-He meets Henry, who’s married and trying to have kids. And the two become business partners. They created Fredbear’s Family Diner, part of their company Fazbear enterprises.

-At some point, Edwin Murray goes hand in hand with the two co-owners of Fredbear’s, William Afton and Henry Emily. They’re friends, I guess.

-Edwin’s dad dies, and Murray’s Costume Manor becomes his. It's also contracted to Fazbear enterprises and Henry and William stop treating Edwin like a friend but like a contractor they can just take things from.

-Freddy’s was a work in progress.

-Edwin neglected his wife, Fiona, and their son, David.

-Edwin’s wife went to help out at Fall Fest, but a fire happened and she died, so Edwin created M1 to mimic her.

-Then David tries to retrieve a ball as it falls onto the road and he was hit by a car. He dies. (imagine it was william tho??)

-edwin creates M2 to mimic David because M1 begged him to. He does this by taking M1’s program out and into the F10-N4 unit because he only had one endoskeleton.

-Edwin doesn’t finish M2, and M1 (F10-N4) asks Edwin to finish M2 to have a perfect family.

-M1 literally believes it was really Fiona, however M2 was a bit quirky and acts like anything it wears while it still does tend to copy David.

-Edwin, realising he’s stupid, beats up M2.

-M2 gets quirky, mimics the violence it experienced, and beats the fuck out of edwin, mimicing him by saying daddy’s too busy, go ask your fucking mom when edwin apologises and asks for help.

-F10-N4, M1, believes that Edwin left her, unaware that he’s just dead.

-Cradle.EXE was built by F10-N4, which was a self-destruct protocol for the Costume Manor, just in case M2 was unfixable, to prevent it from going loose. (she really says its to keep ‘David’ safe and provide boundaries)

-William promises to not do anything with the house, per Edwin's wishes. (Well, William lied, he rebuilt it later on in the late 80’s and used it as a sort of testing/torture place for kids with hallucinogenic gas.)

-In the year 1979, Murray goes missing, so now Fazbear enterprise keeps sending technicians to go retrieve the schematic for the mimic, M2.

-They fail, so they send Arnold. And Arnold was the father of Jeremy Fitzgerald. Jeremy Fitzgerald also happens to be the father of Cassie (from FNaF; Ruin).

-M2 pretends to be Dispatch and Arnold activates Cradle.EXE and escapes Murray’s Custom Manor with the Data Driver Tool, and as he drives away, the mimic kills him (or hospitalises him, who knows), and M2 takes the data driver tool. Arnold failed.

-Now at some point before 1983, but after 1979, William experiences springlock failure in his springbonnie suit, but survives.

Michael Afton, William’s eldest son, was a teen in 1983 and he was friends with Jeremy Fitzgerald and Oswald’s dad (from into the pit, and obviously Oswald's dad was also a teen at this time and didn't have oswald yet. Mike also had another friend, but I don't know who. They’re all teens though.

-The Crying Child was William’s middle child.

-During Crying Child’s birthday party at Fredbear’s family diner in 1983, Michael decides to prank him and the Bite of ‘83 happens, and Crying Child dies. Which makes William and his wife divorce.

-The reason we don’t know his name was because William covered his death and stripped Crying Child’s name off records. He also didn’t bury crying child, he kept his body in The Box (from FNaF 4).

-Also, before, when crying child was alive, William would communicate with him through a walkie-talkie built in the crying child’s Fredbear plushie.

-Then when it was the birthday of Henry Emily’s twins, Charlotte and Samuel Emily, William killed Charlotte. Her corpse left behind Fredbear's, with the security puppet animatronic over her, broken due to the rain that night. William drove off after this. But the rain got rid of any evidence.

-Henry and his wife divorce after they find their daughter dead, and his wife takes their son, Samuel.

-Fredbear’s family diner was shut down and Fazbear was opened up in Hurricane, Utah. So the remaining Afton’s and Emily’s move to Hurricane obviously.

-William discovers Remnant inside the security Puppet from Charlotte and he starts to work on Circus baby’s Pizza world, and kills some kids and collects their remnant.

-In 1984, Elizabeth Afton, on her birthday, who was William Afton’s youngest child, does what she was told not to, and sees Circus Baby alone. She gets grabbed by Circus baby and was forced into Baby’s stomach hatch and no one hears her screams. And she dies.

-William covers this accident by reporting Elizabeth missing, and closing circus baby’s pizza world down and claims that it was closing due to gas leaks.

-In 1985, the Missing Children Incident happened at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

-The victims of the incident were some kids named Cassidy, Fritz, Gabriel, Jeremy, and Susie. And no, this Jeremy child was not the same person as Jeremy Fitzgerald.

-Cassidy possessed Golden Freddy as her corpse was in the animatronic, which was a discarded copy of fredbear after fredbear’s shut down. Crying Child had somehow managed to possess it with her too.

-Fritz’s corpse was put into Foxy, so he possessed it. Jeremy was put into Bonnie and he possessed it. Susie was put in chica and possessed it. Gabriel was put in Freddy and possessed it.

-Due to the Incident, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza loses popularity.

-‘The New And Improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza’ was opened up.

-Jeremy Fitzgerald starts to work there as the Night Guard and he works for five nights.

-So William afton, during a bit before Jeremy’s five days on the job, had tried to kill some more kids but this time at The New And Improved Freddy Fazbear’s pizza. And he probably did, but he got caught on camera by Henry Emily.

-Henry kicked William out of the company, unable to report his friend for murder (idiot).

-Therefore, William lost co-ownership of Fazbear’s entertainment. (Yeah, it became no longer Fazbear’s Enterprises at some point)

-And so, before Jeremy’s shift (the fifth night shift), William had dressed in his SpringBonnie suit and had tampered with the animatronics at The New And Improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

-This resulted in one of those animatronics going quirky and attacking Jeremy Fitzgerald on his fifth night shift, resulting in he Bite Of ‘87, where his frontal lobe was bitten off.

-Jeremy got hospitalized, and his frontal lobe grew back.

-The night right after that, Michael Afton did a night shift at The New And Improved Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, under the alias, Fritz Smith.

-The Fazbear company grows bankrupt.

-After Henry fired William in 1987, William straight away changed his name and left Hurricane.

-William still managed to control his company, Afton Robotics from afar, and has Circus Baby’s Pizza World be worked on to reopen as a Private Rental.

-William was also working on the torture/testing kids with hallucinogenic gas thing at this time.

-Then, at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza (the original location where the missing children incident happened) The animatronics begin to stink up badly and leak black liquid, which Henry claims was just oil. In reality, it's the corpses of the missing children inside of the animatronics from the incident in 1985.

-Therefore, by 1993, Michael Afton works as a security guard for one week under the alias, Mike Schmidt.

-That week also happened to be the final week of the place running as it was to be shut down right after.

-Michael gets fired at the end of his week (the excuse being having bad odor and for tampering with the animatronics)

-Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was shut down due to bankruptcy as it lost popularity.

-Circus Baby’s Pizza World was reopened as a Private Rental. (The scooper was made to collect remnant, so it had remnant on it)

-William Afton then decided to not let everyone know he’s back to hurricane and so he came back to hurricane under the alias, Dave Miller.

-He decided to work as a technician at his own establishment, Circus Baby’s Private Rentals, owned by Afton Robotics, under his new fake identity, Dave Miller.

-As Dave Miller, he also was the one to carve a hiding space under the desk in Circus Control (aka, circus gallery control module).

-After this, William stayed under his fake identity but also had given Michael the mission to find his dead sister, Elizabeth, in the Private Rentals, but he didn’t do this yet.

-its still 1993 after all this.

-William then decides (still 1993), since Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was shut down, to go to the place and he takes out the corpses of the five missing children, from the missing children incident, out of the animatronics to collect their remnant, but this results in the spirits of the victims to roam free. So the moment they’re free, they set their eyes onto William and want to have their revenge. William got scared and quickly found his way to the Safe Room, and he put on the worn out SpringBonnie spring lock suit, and this tricked the kids into seeing him as a friend and not their killer,

-But the suit was old, and the ceiling was leaking rain, and so the suits springlocks were triggered and he died in that room.

-Henry found his body in the suit in the safe room, and he sealed up the room and left him there to rot.

-After this William was just reported missing by the Afton Robotics company as communications were cut between him and the company.

-This then results in the company becoming owned by Fazbear Entertainment.

-Now it’s late 1993, and Michael finally does what his father asked of him.

-And so, Michael Afton starts to work at Circus Baby’s Private Rentals as a technician in search for Elizabeth Afton corpse. The events of FNaF: SL occur.

-The animatronics at the rental think Michael was William because they look similar.

-Michael gets scooped, Ennard goes inside of him after taking out Michael’s organs and bones.

-Ennard, using Michael’s skin as disguise, escapes the rentals.

-Ennard was a combination of the mechanical innards of Circus Baby, possessed by Elizabeth Afton, and the mechanical innards of the other Funtime animatronics, who are also possessed by other unnamed kids.

-Michael then pukes out Ennard (or at least the parts that were controlling Michael's body).

-Michael collapses due to this but then he doesn’t die thanks to the remnant in him due to it being on the scooper when it scooped him. He lives with machinery as his bones and muscles, I guess.

-The puked out remains of Ennard are known as The Blob (or The Tangled).

-Elizabeth’s spirit, along with the mechanical parts she still possesses, leaves The Blob and she attempts to rebuild herself as circus baby using scraps and junk.

-The others just stay as The Blob.

-So now, Henry Emily lives in grief, and Michael Afton hides from society.

-Years later, in 2017, Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction was done being built by some idiots. It was built by an abandoned theme park.

-They haven't opened it yet at this point.

-he place contains whatever the idiots found from all the Freddy’s locations, which includes the springbonnie spring lock suit, which William Afton’s corpse was inside of. He now goes by Springtrap.

-The idiots brought him into the horror attraction, completely dismissing the fact that there’s a corpse in the suit.

-Michael starts to work there as a security guard, under the fake name, Jeremy.

-Henry Emily was funding this place or allowing it to be run.

-Since this was an attraction, they sell their own merch and the interactive ‘Security Logbook’ (called the The survival logbook by Michael)

-Michael bought one and had gone through it casually during a shift, that’s why there are red notes in the book.

-The idiots who run the place also found out how there’s a corpse in the spring lock suit they took and so they put that post it note on the spring lock quiz page saying to disregard everything about it, so that people wouldn’t know that there’s a corpse in the place.

-They thought that the animatronic was just active, they didn’t know that William was very much conscious and controlling the suit as he was now a part of it.

-The reason William was still alive like that was because he had injected himself with remnant when he was alive in the 80’s.

-The events of FNaF 3 happen. Michael burns the attraction down on his final shift, and four of the missing children’s spirits are set free and they move on.

-But Cassidy and Evan don’t move on. they stay.

-This was the moment Michael had his dramatic moment with his father. which is the “Father, it's me.. Michael” speech.

-Henry and Michael then decide to work together to lure all the animatronics that are possessed to one place to end it all.

-Henry also creates LEFTY to capture the puppet, which Charlotte possesses.

-The Blob, Elizabeth (now called ScrapBaby), Springtrap (Now called Scraptrap), and LEFTY, were lured per the events of FNaF: Pizzeria Simulator, and were burnt, like in the canon ending.

-Henry stayed to die in the fire. Michael fled and was awarded the certificate of Completion and was told to not come back next week as the place is now just shut down.

-Despite Michael being William’s eldest, and only somewhat living, son, Michael didn’t inherit the Fazbear’s company because Henry kicked William out in 1987.

-As for Afton Robotics, it became property of Fazbear Entertainment after William died and Michael didn’t want anything to do with it.

-That’s why right after Henry’s death, the company became Samuel Emily’s. He is Henry Emily’s son and Charlotte Emily’s twin, the one that Henry’s ex-wife had taken with her after the divorce in 1983.

-After the fire where Henry died, William’s soul was trapped in ultimate Custom Night, which is a special and personalized hell created by Cassidy (The Vengeful Spirit) so that William will suffer.

-Fazbear Entertainment, after the fire, created the Help Wanted VR game.

-And to recreate springtrap in this game, they needed the animatronic CPU, but William’s remnant got into the circuit boards, so when springtrap was recreated into the VR game, it basically was a digitalized William. But not conscious. Just a digital copy.

-The mimic was already in the Fazbear system by this point, and so it created an extension of itself that was inserted into the VR game and that extension mimicked Wiliam Afton.

-This fake Wiliam Afton became known as Glitchtrap or Malhare.

-Now, here is where Vanessa comes in.

-Vanessa was a games tester at Fazbear Entertainment, and she was on the developing team for the VR game. Everything else is as game canon follows (like everything else in this lore I wrote).

-Vanessa’s mind is taken over by Glitchtrap so now she’s Vanny.

-Fazbear’s then starts the special delivery service where Vanessa starts to work in the security department (the 3rd floor).

-Vanessa also starts to date Luis Cabrera, who works with her.

-She then (under Glitchtrap’s orders/manipulation/control) transfers to the Security Department of Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex, which was being built soon after Henry Emily’s death in 2017. The place was opened in mid 2024.

-Gregory, who is an orphan boy, had escaped the foster system and found his way inside of the Mega Pizzaplex, and crawled inside of Glamrock Freddy’s stomach hatch, per canon events in game.

-he events of FNaF Security Breach occur and the canon events of the ‘Princess Quest’ ending.

-Vanessa, now free from Glitchtrap’s control, takes Gregory to live with her, along with Glamrock Freddy’s head.

-The blob was underneath the mega Pizzaplex, and so it escaped or maybe not, resulting in the establishments ruin.

-Fazbear entertainment created Help Wanted 2, another VR game.

-However, Jeremy Fitzgerald, who’s the father of Cassie (Gregory’s friend, not Cassidy who was murdered by William), is trapped in that game. Probably dead.

-Then a few months later, in early 2025, the events of Ruin occur, where Cassie goes to the abandoned Pizzaplex to find Gregory, and all the game shit happens up until the canon ending of the game, where style elevator drops.
