When Yume woke up, he was hungry and his mouth had dried up again. The sun hung fairly low in a cloudless sky – it had to be the next afternoon. Sitting up, Yume realized he had been knocked out for over a day. His body ached from sleeping on the bare cave floor. But worst of all, his memories returned – the escape, the aimless wandering, finally figuring out where he was. Finding Hui. Realizing… No, Yume couldn’t bring himself to even think the words. It would doom him. Him and Hui, surely. It always did, in the end. Perhaps… Perhaps it would be better if he just stayed here. Far off from any place where Gōngmín might find him again. Far enough to not be a danger to anyone he cared about.
