hi, I’ve been become so obsessed with wanderer x furina bc of you to the point I went down a rabbit hole and made my digital planner their theme
which makes me wonder why do you ship them?
First of all, I'm so sorry I dragged you to this shipping purgatory, but also I hope you have fun, I'm sure your planner looks amazing! (I have scararina as my bg in all my devices, so I can understand 💙)
The short answer as to why I ship them is because I love parallels and Wanderer and Furina are foils to each other.
The long answer is that I find tragically poetic how they reflect each other. Gods made them to be tools, whether wanted or unwanted, both suffered all the same and in the end, they were left alone to deal with the aftermath. Wanderer's pain came to be because he was unfit for the purpose he was made for, on the other side, Furina's pain exists because she did exactly what she was meant to do.
I think there's a unique understanding that only these two characters can share because of this, like how thematically Furina's “Endless Solo of Solitude” and Wanderer's “Of Solitude Past and Present" fit so well, which is one of the things I always adore in a ship: when they can know and understand each other at levels that elude the rest of the world; I feel like that's its own kind of love.
When it comes to ships, I usually don't pick them, but then there's ships like this one that one day click on my brain and left me crying on the floor; I just adore these characters, I find them very compelling and the idea of Wanderer and Furina putting together the pieces the gods broke in them makes me feel fulfilled. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!
