WINTERKNIGHTS 2023 - SAVE THE DATES

winterknights is a prompt based holiday fest for the Merlin fandom! Use any winter or holiday themed idea to create fic, traditional art (pencil, painting, digital etc.), photo manipulations/other graphics, handmade crafts, podfic, fanmixes, and more!

BBC Merlin Reverse Bang Returns!

Announcing the second round of the BBC Merlin Reverse Bang!

Sign-ups will open in about a month on Sunday, August 27!

Writers, artists, podficcers, betas, and alphas are all welcome to sign up next month! Please note that we have made some changes to the format of the fest for our second round, so definitely check out our updated carrd site!

A brief summary of changes:

we’ll have sign-ups for both betas and alphas

artist requirements have been reduced

podficcers & their writers will have a delayed posting schedule

participants will have more check-in points with the mods

and artists/podficcers will have the option to allow their concepts to be claimed by more than one writer. This means there will be 2 rounds of claiming in order to allow for more writers to participate

Things are heating up in the Merlin fandom, and we hope you’re ready for another scorcher, as it’s almost time to sign up for Kinkalot 2023! What is Kinkalot? Kinkalot is an annual porn fest run by and for BBC Merlin fans, following in the footsteps of such fabulous forebears as Pornalot and the late, great Summer Pornathon. This year’s fest will be slightly shorter than usual, but just as sweet! From 12 August, we’ll be hosting two (2) weekly NSFW prompt challenges for participants, as well as three (3) weekly bonus challenges that are open to all comers (heh). Participants are also allocated into teams, who can compete together in our (almost) month-long Team Bingo and Commenting challenges for the honour of winning the (still entirely fictitious) Kinkalot Cup. I want in! How do I take part? Sign-ups will open on 10 July 2023, but in the meantime feel free to check out our Rules and FAQ for more information on how the fest works.

Arthur doesn’t understand most of what she just said but nods anyway.

Squinting her eyes, she gauges his confusion regardlessly. “It’s someone pretending to be the famous sorcerer. See here, this is his most recent tweet.” At Arthur’s odd look, she clarifies, “It’s like a message that everyone can see.”

@asorcerersays: Guys why did he have to be so hot and like,,,funny? Like it’s been forever and I still miss him. He was pretty dumb though.

And I honestly loved the original characters and Arthur’s found family he makes. The build up to when Merlin and Arthur finally meet in person!!!! Incredible. Read this fic if you haven’t! The world is falling apart, plastic is flooding the seas and there is almost no magic left. Merlin has been hanging on by a thread when he meets a weird stranger who tells him that he will be given one more chance to fix what went wrong the first time around.

It turns out saving the world, or Arthur, is a lot harder than it seems.

Reader’s Comments: Its a slow burn, fix it story in which Merlin goes back in time. I would love for more people to read it!

Hey!! I love this blog and I have been looking for a particular fic i read a while back on Ao3 that I haven’t been able to find and I was wondering if you or anyone knew it? It’s short and involves Merlin and Arthur and the knights having to state all their names and titles to get through a magic gate, and merlin having to reveal his magic? It was short and that was the whole thing, if you know it and could point me to it to would be forever grateful!

Wrong. Merlin really hates the Old Religion sometimes.
