TO ALL MY PROCRASTINATORS
Its hard. I can feel you. You may have labelled yourself as a lazy loser and you must be so frustrated thinking "WHY TF I CAN'T DO A SIMPLE THING ON TIME" Its okay
Start from the down ! As a fellow procrastinator *twirls around* I get you. Main key is don't put your goals too high. Start from simple things like filling up your water bottles when it gets empty or it can be even brushing your teeth on time. Its not lame its okay !! If you keep your goal high then its also okay, good job !!
Just don't pressurize yourself for cleaning your whole room in a day. Start with "today I will do my bookshelf". You can even do just one of the shelf its okay. If you can't get yourself to do anything at all then also its okay. You can always start tomorrow ! At least you thought of doing it today !! Don't focus on what you could not do, focus on what you did and be happy about it. Maybe you could not finish the goal of completing an essay today but at least you filled your water bottles and hydrated yourself today. Maybe you could not get yourself to do your workout today but at least you ate and did not starved yourself today. Its okay you can do it. I believe you !!
I realized this the day I felt that whatever I'm doing in my life is for me and me ONLY. Like studying, eating, working out, its just all for me, nobody else. Make yourself your priority and nothing else matters. Do what you think is good for you. Friends, family, love, society.. well they somewhat matters but ABOVE YOUR OWN SELF !!?? OH HELL NO. ( okay I'm totally going off track from the topic :) )
The point is to start slow but maintaining the consistency. Well you can skip sometimes too !! there are no rules !! I started working on myself last month. My progress is going very slow. Am I consistent ? NOPE Do I still feel shitty sometimes and curse myself ? YES I cannot get myself to study its just as if I found as escape from reality through my phone and I get so distracted. But I will overcome it !! I believe in myself I REALLY DO. So you do it TOO !!
Procrastination is a sign of laziness I agree but its also big part of mental health. Nobody understands that !! Sometimes waking up from the bed seems impossible, sometimes brushing your teeth is impossible, sometimes just starting a new work seems impossible. So stop labelling yourself as lazy. You are NOT !! One goal at a time and slowly keep working on it. Sometimes its just not procrastination, there maybe even bigger things in your mind or with you !! Find yourself and love yourself.
IDK what I wrote and what was my conclusion but my intention was to share my pain and thoughts of dealing with procrastination. I'm really proud I was able to write this today. Lets deal with this together slowly no rushing !! we will do it. I will do it !!
