I'm transcribing a bunch of Dragon Age stuff for my own fanfcition-y purposes. Since I want to organize it with tags, I figured I might as well give others access. As they're mainly just for my reference, they're going to be a bit messy and not cover every possibility.

Adan (Haven's Best and Brightest, Passing Notes)
ADAN
Look who's back from the dead. Again
ASK:
PC
I don't recall meeting you before.
ADAN
I'd be surprised if you did. You weren't particularly coherent. Someone had to patch you up after you staggered out of Maker-knows-where, though, so you're welcome.
PC
I didn't realize. Thank you.
ADAN
Yeah, well, You can pay me back by fixing the world.
OTHER OPTIONS NOT RECORDED
PC
It has been a rough few days.
ADAN
That's an understatement. And more ahead if the "weather" is any indication.
OR
PC
Until the Breach is closed, no one's safe.
ADAN
True. I'll keep the bandages handy.
ADAN
Name's Adan. I'm in charge of keeping our little band here stocked with potions and elixirs. Not that Seeker Pentaghast seems to care whether we've go the supplies to actually do that.
ASK
PC
For a healer, you don't seem particularly nurturing.
ADAN
I'm not a healer. I'm an alchemist who's forced to play mother hen. You want something to burst into flame on contact with the air? Done. Gladly. Patching up wounded soldiers is a waste of my time and talents... but there are a few around who can help.
ASK
PC
How are your people holding up?
ADAN
There's no shortage of work, that's for damn sure.
ASK
PC
How do I go about having potions made?
ADAN
Just take a look there and tell me what you'd like. Find a recipe for something better, I can make that, too.
PC
Farewell.
Asking if you can help
PC
Is there anything I can do to help out?
ADAN
We're fine as far as raw labor goes. You've more importatn things to do than tend to me. I only wish I'd been able to find Master Teigen's notes. Old bastard was working on something special. He died at the Conclave, and his notes weren't here. Been too busy dealing with the wounded to look for them.
END OF THIS ROUTE NOT RECORDED
Bringing the notes before getting the quest 'Passing Notes'
ADAN
You're back. And in one piece.
PC
I found some notes by a Master Teigen. I wondered if you might be interested
ADAN
Let me have a look. This should... oh, I see! With a distillate of... Ha! The old codger was on the edge of a breakthrough here, but he couldn't see it. You want some of these mixed up, you just give the word.

The Dragon Age Compendium is complete for Dragon Age: Origins (v1).
It contains:
All dialogue for all characters
Notes from the writers for the voice actors, which provide additional insight into character background and motivation
Developer notes related to the characters, such as their ages, flaws, and background
All codices, including all the storylines for the companion codex entries
This isn’t all entirely new, but I wanted to put this kind of information in one central place for anyone to search through or reference. My ultimate goal is to have a corpus that is comprised of this kind of textual data for all three Dragon Age games, but for now I just wanted to let people know if you wanted a raw text file of all the game’s text, it’s linked below.
You can view the repository here: https://github.com/pod7/dragonage_compendium

Halla subspecies chart! :D Because I refuse to believe they all look the same.
Took some liberties with the designs, especially antler-wise and with coat patterns. Had a blast doing this!
Common Halla - Very docile and shy, these halla will flee immediately if approached. They live in familiar groups with up to 100 individuals during the cold seasons, relying on numbers for protection against predators. Both genders have antlers, and the coat coloration varies slightly from region to region.
“Golden” Halla - These, although not being the most common, are the best known subspecies in Thedas, in no small part due to their connection to the dalish. Closely related to the common variety, they retain their shy nature, but have grown larger and developed a beautiful white coat. There are almost no individuals in the wild, though there have been some sightings. Some dalish believe seeing a wild one is a blessing from Ghilan'nain.
Pigmy Halla - These little cuties are the smallest of the subspecies, and ironically, the boldest. Gifted with the ability to perform powerful jumps and complicated maneuvers, these halla will sometimes taunt and provoke predators just before darting away in an attempt to tire them. Living in small groups, they inhabit the warmer corners of Thedas.
Highland Halla - These are the descendants of the mighty steeds the old elven Knights rode into battle. Larger than the others, they are still highly regarded among the dalish. With sharp senses and a calm demeanor, the Highlands are solitary animals who dwell on the high mountains and cold forests of the south.
Common “Red” Hart - The harts are a distant cousin of the halla. These spirited giants are extremely rare and hard to find, and most encounters are brief and dangerous. They are territorial and will see anything as a potential threat, charging immediately. It is said that those who can befriend and even ride a Hart are chosen ones, protected by the gods themselves.
All of the above (except for the harts, I guess?) have their place in dalish clans all across Thedas, depending on where the clans are from. I like to imagine the elves have adapted as the animals did, and the way they move around and live largely depends on this.

A list of Places where the Veil is Thin
All over Thedas, there are said to be places where the Veil is thin. Where spirits and demons press against an almost gossamer curtain, where their whisperings are amplified and mages are particularly vulnerable. It seems blood is a key factor in this occurrence: Places that have seen great and bloody battles, great sacrifice or other harrowing tragedies. The Dalish call such places setheneran, or a land of waking dreams. It is unknown if this term references an older state of the world, perhaps even one pre-veil.
Below is a list of at least some of these locations, some more notable than others, and a little speculation (or facts) on why they may be as such. Now that so many mages might be wandering apostates, perhaps this may be taken as a cautionary travel guide.

Thedas, Köppen Climates, and Me, Once Again Thinking too Deep About Dragon Age.
So in honor of Dragon Age Day, I present to you some maps that have come to fruition due to my herb project and all the science explanations about them. So I took the map of Thedas I made and slapped all this together and if this all interests you please continue. Just know 99% of this is generalizations. I’m also just an amateur with an art degree.
[Image: A map of Thedas, the continent from the game franchise Dragon Age. It is colour coded to show the various climates. To the right side is the colour index for all the Köppen Climates.]
So I wanted to know the climates of the areas of Thedas so I could “properly” place the plants and herbs of Thedas. After all nature has specialized niches that need to be filled! You need variety to be resistant to disease and to be able to adapt to the environment.
This was such a consideration for me as I was looking to flesh out the natural world and since I could break the constraints that come from a game, such as limiting assets for performance and clarity for the player.
That said, I took concretes in lore that I already knew to inform most of these. From environmental aspects as the Donarks, Seheron, and Par Vollen having jungles. That Ferelden has longer winters than the rest of Thedas. That due to the Blight the Anderfels is harsh steppes and desert.
Another consideration was the flora we knew grew in specific places. Such as coffee growing in Antiva, that meant it had to be in what we would call the Bean Belt. Same with the cinnamon and nutmeg in Seheron. Or that Rivian grows cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and tea leaves.
So with all of that, those influenced my placements of climates as well as my estimation of where Thedas was placed on the globe.
The rest is going below the cut, because there is a lot of science talk. Its long. Like I said, I’m thinking too deep about this.

orz i keep diggin up the yard and getting surprised when i fall down these rabbit holes-
Got bored, got curious, made a headcanon floorplan of Skyhold!
Ended up with 8.5 stories, not including the underground areas(The Undercroft, Dungeon, and Servant Quarters, to be specific), which have 2 levels. Side note, the route from the Great Hall to the Inquisitor's Quarters makes no sense ingame, so a lot of guessing was involved.
Some of this was just me walking through skyhold and mapping out what i saw, but some of these areas are completely made-up, i.e. the route from the hall to inq.'s room and the route from the hall to the undercroft, so I took the opportunity to ad-lib some personal universe areas(my self-insert's room and office as the inquisitor's secretary, as well as servants' quarters and some bedrooms for Dagna and Harrit.
Full map's key under the cut!
Top Level
1- Inquisitor's Quarters*
2- Inquisitor's Secretary Office
3- Visitors'/Dignitaries' Quarters
4- Secretary's Quarters**
5- Vivienne's Loft/Balcony
6- Rookery
7- Library
8- Cullen's Quarters
9- Tower
10- Healer's Quarters***
Upper Level
1- Great Hall
2- Ambassador's Office
3- War Room
4- Gardens
5- Chapel
6- Eluvian
7- Upper Courtyard
8- Dungeon Access
9- Smithy/Forges
10- Quartermaster/Bunks
11- Infirmary
12- Tavern
13- Iron Bull's Room
14- Barracks/Bunks
15- Commander's Office
16- Solas's Rotunda
Lower Level
1- Gallery****
2- Root Cellar
3- Kitchen
4- Old Study
5- Lower Courtyard
6- Checkpoints
7- Gate
8- Barn
9- Stables
10- Dungeon
Bottom Level
1- Servants' Quarters
2- Harrit's Room
3- Dagna's Room
4- Undercroft
*--Also, since there was room below it that cant be accessed ingame, added a room for my inquisitor's lady-in-waiting, who is the serving girl from the prologue cutscene when the inquisitor wakes up in Haven. I've named her Nala
**--Personal Universe Headcanon, the secretary is my self-insert
***--Its right above where the Infirmary can be
****--I have no idea what this room is called, but its mostly empty except for some paintings and a dwarven statue so I made the executive decision to call it a gallery

Agrarian Apostate
A cabin in the Hinterlands
WIDOW MAURA
Templar bastards killed my husband and stole the ring form his finger. They deserve to die.
INQUISITOR
You’re saying templars attacked your husband?
MAURA
Aye. He was digging out a stump. The fools couldn’t tell a shovel from a mage’s staff. Had to be safe, they said. Rebels everywhere attacking by surprise. Sick bastards. They took the ring I gave him on our wedding day, in case it was magic.
INQUISITOR
Farewell
MAURA
*grunts*
On returning with the ring after killing the templars
MAURA
‘Ware the templars! They don’t care who they kill anymore.
INQUISITOR
I found this ring on a templar I killed.
MAURA
This is it. Praise to you and the Inquisition for giving my husband justice. It won’t bring him back, but his spirit will res easier now. As will mine.

I took the RPG map of Ferelden, which had a scale on it, and overlaid it on top of the world map from Inquisition, resizing it until everything matched up (and I left the eastern bit of Ferelden on there since the Inquisition world map cuts it off). Then I just measured the distance from each location (via the major roads on the map and possible routes I added in myself–the green-ish tinted pathways) and used the scale to figure out how far away everything was from each other and these are the approximate travel times I came up with:

Measuring the Veil
Haven
SOLAS
As I explored the Fade, I felt the presence of an intriguing artifact in the Hinterlands. If you are willing, I would like to locate it. I have marked its location as best I could determine.
Approaching the location in the Hinterlands
SOLAS
According to my research, the ancient elves may have set up wards near here. If we can find the artifacts they used, it may help strengthen this area against tears.
Outside the ruin where the artifact is located, after aiding Mihris, a Dalish mage, against a demon.
MIHRIS
Peace. I am no danger to you. My name is Mihris. By your weapons I see you come ready for battle. Perhaps we face a common enemy in these demons.
INQUISITOR
Are you fighting the demons on your own?
MIHRIS
Fighting the demons is pointless. There will always be more. And I have no means of closing the rifts. But I have heard of elven artifacts that measure the Veil. They may tell us where new rifts will appear. I was not expecting so many demons, however. I believe on of the artifacts is nearby. Can you help me reach it?
INQUISITOR
It sounds worth investigating.
MIHRIS
Thank you. It shouldn’t be too much farther ahead.
If Mihris is approached again
MIHRIS
Thank you for joining me. I do not think I could have done this alone.
INQUISITOR
How did you come to be here?
MIHRIS
I was -- am -- First of Clan Virnehn. I left in service of my clan and saw that great tear in the Veil on my journey. I know more of magic and the Veil than any shemlen, so I hoped to help.
SOLAS
Ma harel, da’len.
MIHRIS
I... We should keep moving.
At the blocked entrance to the ruin
MIHRIS
We’ll need focused magical energy to get by. You, flat-ear. Can you manage it?
Mage Inquisitor clears the rubble.
MIHRIS
Ma nuvenin, da’len.
After defeating the demons inside
MIHRIS
There. If we activate that crystal, it should react to the strength of the Veil.
The Inquisitor activates it.
SOLAS
Yes, the wards are helping to strengthen the Veil. This area should be safer for travelers now.
MIHRIS, kneeling beside the artifact
Well, that should prove useful. And it seems the ancestors left something for me as well. Interesting.
I believe our alliance is concluded. Go in peace, stranger.
SOLAS
Ma halani, ma glandival. Vir enasalin.
MIHRIS
I... perhaps you are right. Here. Take it.
Go with Mythal’s blessing.
When approaching a subsequent artifact
SOLAS
I believe I sense one of the artifacts of my people.
The Inquisitor activates the artifact.
SOLAS
That should help ward off demons.

Return from Val Royeaux
The Inquisitor and Cassandra enter the Haven chantry, where Cullen, Josephine and Leliana wait.
JOSEPHINE
It’s good you’ve returned. We heard of your encounter.
CASSANDRA
You heard?
LELIANA
My agents in the city sent word ahead, of course.
CULLEN
It’s a shame the templars have abandoned their senses as well as the capital.
INQUISITOR
At least we know how to approach the mages and templars now.
CASSANDRA
Do we? Lord Seeker Lucius is not the man I remember.
LELIANA
True. He has taken the Order somewhere, but to do what? My reports have been... very odd.
CULLEN
We must look into it. I’m certain not everyone in the Order will support the Lord Seeker.
JOSEPHINE
Or the Herald could simply go to meet the mages in Redcliffe, instead.
CULLEN
You think the mage rebellion is more united? It could be ten times worse!
INQUISITOR
I could at least find out what the mages want.
CASSANDRA
No doubt what they’ve always wanted: support for their cause.
JOSEPHINE
We shouldn’t discount Redcliffe. The mages may be worth the risk.
CASSANDRA
They are powerful, Ambassador, but more desperate than you realize.
INQUISITOR
So it’ll be dangeorus. I’ve been in danger since I walked out of the Fade.
CASSANDRA
If some among the rebel mages were responsible for what happened at the Conclave...
JOSEPHINE
The same could be said about templars.
CULLEN
True enough. Right now, I’m not certain we have enough influence to approach the Order safely.
CASSANDRA
Then the Inquisition needs agents in more places. That’s something you can help with.
JOSEPHINE
In the meantime, we should consider other options.
Everyone leaves except the Inquisitor and Leliana, who approaches them.
LELIANA
There is one other matter. Several monts ago, the Grey Wardens of Ferelden vanished. I sent word to those in Orlais, but they have also disappeared. Ordinarily I wouldn’t even consider the idea they’re involved in all this, but the timing is... curious.
INQUISITOR
So you’re telling nme this because...?
LELIANA
The others have disregarded my suspicion, but I cannot ignore it. Two days ago, my agents the Hinterlands heard news of a Grey Warden by the name of Blackwall. If you have the opportunity, please seek him out. Perhaps he can put my mind at ease.
INQUISITOR
And if he can’t?
LELIANA:
Then there may be more going on than we thought.

A Friend of Red Jenny
In a secluded courtyard in Val Royeaux at night
Soon to be dead mercenary: It’s the Inquisition’s Herald!
Different, equally doomed mercenary: Can’t be! Not here!
Inquisitor, providing that doom: Well, they know who I work for, at least!
Through a door into another courtyard
A mage shoots fire at the Inquisitor as they come through the door. The Inquisitor dodges.
Mage: Herald of Andraste! How much did you expend to discover me? It must have weakened the Inquisition immeasurably!
I: I don’t know who you are!
M: You don’t fool me! I’m too important for this to be an accident! My efforts will survive in victories against you elsewhere!
Sea appears from around a corner, killing a henchman of the mage at close range then knocking an arrow and pointing it at the mage.
Sera: Just say “What!”
M: What is the--
She shoots him in the face.
Sera: Eww!
Sera and the Inquisitor and co. both approach the body.
Sera: Squishy one, but you heard me right? “Just say ‘What.’“ Rich tits always try for more than they deserve.
Sera, recovering her arrow from the mage’s face: “Blah, blah, blah! Obey me! Arrow in my face!”
She turns back to the Inquisitor.
Sera: So, you followed the notes well enough. Glad to see you’re...
Sera, to a human Inquisitor: You’re kind of plain, really. All the talk, and then you’re just... a person.
Sera: I mean, it’s all good, innit? The important thing is: you glow? You’re the Hearld thingy?
Inquisitor: Sure, why not? I glow. What’s going on?
Sera: No idea. I don’t know this idiot from manners. My people just said the Inquisition should look at him.
Inquisitor: Your people? Elves?
Sera: Ha! No. People people. *gestures at some crates* Name’s Sera. This is cover. Get round it. For the reinforcements. Don’t worry. Someone tipped me their equipment shed. They’ve got no breeches.
Sera laughs as mercenaries, all breeches-less, attack.
Inquisitor: Why didn’t you take their weapons?
Sera: Because no breeches! *laughs*
After the fight
Sera: Friends really came through with that tip. No breeches! *laughs* So, Herald of Andraste. You’re a strange one. I’d like to join.
Inquisitor: How about we get to know each other first? You know, names and such?
Sera: One name. No, wait, two. It’s... well, it’s like this. I sent you a note to look for hidden stuff by my friends. The Friends of Red Jenny. That’s me. Well, I’m one. So is a fence in Montfort, some woman in Kirkwall. There were three in Starkhaven. Brothers or something. It’s just a name, yeah? It lets little people, “Friends,” be part of something while they stick it to nobles they hate. So here, in your face, I’m Sera. “The Friends of Red Jenny” are sort of out there. I used them to help you. Plus arrows.
Inquisitor: The Inquisition has spies already. Can you add to these professionals?
Sera: Here’s how it is. You “important” people are up here, shoving your cods around. “Blah, blah, I’ll cursh you,. I’ll crush you!″ *kissing sounds* “Oh, crush you.” Ahem.
Sera: Then you’ve got cloaks and spy-kings. Like this tit. Or was he one of the little knives, all serious with his... little knife. All those secrets, and what gave him up? Some houseboy who don’t know shite, but knows a bad person when he sees one.
Sera: So no, I’m not Knifey Shivdark, all hidden. But if you don’t listen down here too, you risk your breeches. Like those guards. I stole their... Look, do you need people or not? I want to get everything back to normal. Like you?
Inquisitor: So who are your “Friends of Red Jenny?” You must know them.
Sera: Ugh, it’s not hard to understand, if you’re not trying to waste your day on it. Someone little always hates someone big. And unless you don’t eat, sleep, or piss, you’re never far from someone little. Doesn’t always work out, but a lot of people hated this guy. Someone got a laugh, someone got even, someone got paid. And someone has to have it explained to them that free help is good.
Inquisitor: Back there you wanted to know if I glowed. Why?
Sera: That’s what you do, innit? You walked out of somewhere and now you glow. Andraste’s Herald. True or not, it seemed like the easiest way to know it was you.
Inquisitor: True or not?
Sera: Well, that’s what they say and all. Look, don’t get ahead, yeah? I want to help this... whatever it is. Inquisition.
Inquisitor: You sound like a thief who acts out petty revenge fantasies.
Sera just smiles.
Inquisitor: And that might be bad?
Sera: Oh, right. You want to prop that guy guy up so I can say my sorries? Bad things should happen to bad people. We find someone not so bad, maybe he’ll end up not so dead. Good enough?
Inquisitor: You say that like it’s obvious, but you didn’t know him.
Sera: I knew about him.
Inquisitor: That’s just rumor.
Sera: Look, I’d have been fine stripping his guards and nicking his stuff. Turns out, he deserved worse. Or was him trying to kill you a good thing? Are you the baddie? Didn’t think so.
Inquisitor: All right, Sera. I can use you and your “Friends.”
Sera: Yes! Get in good before you’re too big to like. That’ll keep your breeches where they should be. Plus extra breeches, because I have all there... you have merchants who buy that pish, yeah? Got to be worth something. Anyway, Haven. See you there, Herald. This will be grand.

Recruiting Vivienne
Val Royeaux
Cassandra: I believe that messenger is trying to get our attention.
Messenger: You are the Herald of Andraste, are you not? I have an invitation for you.
Text of the message:
You are cordially invited to attend my salon held at the chateau of Duke Bastien de Ghislain.
Yours, Vivienne de Fer
First Enchanter of Montsimmard
Enchanter to the Imperial Court
The salon
Herald (not that one), as the Inquisitor enters: Lady Trevelyan of Ostwick, representing the Inquisition.
Orlesian Man: What a pleasure to meet you, my lady. Seeing the same faces at every event becomes so tiresome. So you must be a guest of Madame do Fer. Or are you here for Duke Bastien?
Orelsian Woman: Are you here on business? I have heard the most curious tales of you. I cannot imagine half of them are true.
I: What have you heard about me?
OW: Some say that when the Veil opened, Andraste herself delivered you form the Fade.
I: I’ve heard very little about Duke Bastien.
OW: He hasn’t been seen much at court lately.
OM: His business with the Council of Heralds often takes him form home for long periods. It can’t be good for a man of his years.
OW: And of course, there’s the civil war. Bastien probably wishes to distance himself from the actions of his one-time son-in-law.
OM: Tearing up the Dales in a foolish bid for power? It will end in disgrace for Gaspard. Everyone knows it.
I: some of those storytellers may have gotten carried away.
OW: But only for the best effect. The Inquisition is a ripe subject for wild tales.
Marquis Alphonse, dramatically descending a staircase: The Inquisition? What a load of pig shit! Washed up sisters and crazed Seekers? No one can take them seriously. Everyone knows it’s just an excuse for a bunch of political outcasts to grab power.
I: The Inquisition is working to restore peace and order to Thedas.
MA: Here comes the outsider, restoring peace with an army! We know what your “Inquisition:” truly is. If you were a woman of honor, you’d step outside and answer the charges.
He starts to draw a sword sheathed at his back. Enter Vivienne via the same stairs he used as she freezes him to the spot.
Vivienne: My dear Marquis, how unkind of you to use such language in my house... to my guests. You know such rudeness is... intolerable.
MA: Madame Vivienne, I humbly beg your pardon!
V, circling him: You should. Whatever am I going to do with you, my dear?
V, turning to the Inquisitor: My lady, you’re the wounded party in this unfortunate affair. What would you have me do with this foolish, foolish man?
I: I think the marquis has seen the error of his ways.
V: By the grace of Andraste, you have your life, my dear. Do be more careful with it.
Vivienne unfreezes the marquis, who leaves.
V,, to the Inquisitor: I’m delighted you could attend this little gathering. I’ve so wanted to meet you.
The Inquisitor and Vivienne elsewhere, in front of an open window.
V: Allow me to introduce myself. I am Vivienne, First Enchanter of Montsimmard and Enchantress to the Imperial Court.
I: Is that marquis going to pose a problem?
V: His aunt is the viscomtess of Mont-de-Glace. Not a powerful family but well-respected... and very devout. Alphones will be disowned for this. It’s not the first time he’s brought his aunt disgrace, but I’m sure it’ll be the last. And after such a public humiliation, I expect he’ll run of to the Dales to join the empress’s war effort. Either to make a good end or to win back a modicum of self-respect.
I: Charmed, Lady Vivienne.
V: Ah, but I didn’t invite you to the chateau for pleasantries.
OR
I: Your salon has certainly exceeded my expectations so far.
V: I’m glad to keep you entertained, my dear.
V: I wanted to meet face to face. It is important to consider one’s connections carefully. With Divine Justinia dead, the Chantry is in shambles. Only the Inquisition might restore sanity and order to our frightened people. As the leader of the last loyal mages of Thedas, I fell it only right that I lend my assistance to your cause.
I: What exactly can you do for the Inquisition?
V: I am well versed in the politics of the Orlesian Empire. I know every member of the Imperial Court personally. I have all the resources remaining to the Circle at my disposal. And I am a of no small talent. Will that do?
I Does that mean you’d be aiding the Inquisition from the Imperial Palace?
V: Ordinarily I would be happy to serve as a liaison to the court, but these are not ordinary times. The Veil has been ripped apart, and there is a hole in the sky. It is now the duty of every mage to work toward sealing the Breach, and so I would join the Inquisition on the field of battle.
I: What’s in this for you?
V: The same thing anyone gets by fighting this chaos: The chance to meet my enemy, to decide my fate. I won’t wait quietly for destruction.
I: You say you led the last of the loyal mages. Loyal to whom?
V: To the people of Thedas, of course. We have not forgotten the commandment, as some have, that magic exists to serve man. I support any effort to restore such order.
I: So you’re in favor of returning mages to the Circle, then?
V: Where else can mages safely learn to master their talents? We need an institution to protect and nurture magic. Maker knows, magic will find neither on its own.
I: Are you devout? What’s your opinion of the Chantry?
V: I was a great admirer of the late Divine Justinia V. The Chantry, at its best, unites the disparate cultures of Thedas and looks after its most vulnerable. Had she lived, Justinia could have accomplished so much.
I: You are aware thatthe Chantry hasn’t sanctioned this Inquisition...
V: The Chantry is leaderless. They’re in no position to officially sanction anything. Besides, my dear, if there is one virtue the Chant of Light teaches us, it is forgiveness. Once the Inquisition has sealed the Breach, I’m sure the new Divine will not care in the slightest about official permission.
I: The Inquisition will be happy to have you, Lady Vivienne.
V: Great things are beginning, my dear. I can promise you that.

Trying to get into Redcliffe before going to Val Royeaux
Guard: The village is off-limits. There’s been too much fighting between templars and mages. Take it elsewhere.
Inquisitor: Wer’e not with the templars or the mages. We’re agents of the Inquisition.
G: You could be anyone. You think I don’t know what “don’t open the gates” means? If you’re from the Inquisition, prove it. Until then, the gates stay closed.
I: We’re not here to cause trouble.
G: Then you can leave. Easiest way not to cause trouble, isn’t it? The gates stay shut until I get orders otherwise. Move along.
I: Very well. We’ll leave.
G: Andraste protect you, traveler.

Vierre, a disaffected chanter in Val Royeaux
Before the confrontation with Hevara and the templars
Vierre: The templars will stand for us and help Val Royeaux return to mourning.
After the confrontation
Vi: My Maker, know my heart, take from me a life of sorrow. Comfort is only yours to give... Oh, Maker, where is the comfort?
V: Look away. I have broken the Chant, because it comes from my heart. What have we, when our Divine is dead, and the sky burns?
Inquisitor: What do you mean you “broke the Chant?”
V: Are you all so ignorant of the Maker’s most basic rites? The Chant of Light is how we honor the Maker. They are the only words that the faithful should hear from my lips, but I can’t...
V: Our Divine is dead. Our templars gone. The Maker’s silence is deafening. What hope have we?
I: We should question. If not now, when?
V: Down that road is darkness. We have never been alone. We cannot be alone. But even our templars forsake the Light. Even they.
If approached again
V, presumably quoting the Chant: The one who repents, who has faith, unshaken by the darkness of the world, she shall know true peace.
