(Hi tesoomfie) I remember you said in tags the fic takes place before forces but I wanted some elaboration on that if it’s not too spoilery as I remember in chapter 6 it’s mentioned eggman has had a run in with the phantom ruby. It’s not really a big detail or anything but I was wondering about if he’s just been studying it and the jackal squad hasn’t showed up yet.
the timeline placement remains dubious even currently but as of right now, the fic takes place after mania as an explanation for certain details and future details in later chapters, and obviously after rivals 2 as well, but before forces and the games that were released after it. basically, all of the games that involve the other sonic robots have occurred.
honestly the timeline placement makes forces a bit more fucked up and angsty for shadow and metal 😭
