Pythia, The Oracle of Delphi

With Apollo being a God of truth and prophecy, he was sought after by the people of Greece for guidance and because of this, many temples were built in his name. ☀️
The majority of women in Greece led predominantly domestic lives and were excluded from public life with the exception of participating in religious rituals or deity work.
To become a High Priestess was a prestigious honor. However, no honor was greater than to be the Pythia of Apollo aka the Oracle of Delphi.

Once a year, the Oracle of Delphi acted as a mouthpiece for Apollo and would enter a chamber called an adyton. This chamber was fumigated with burning barley meal and laurel leaves. Some researchers also believe that natural volcanic fumes and hallucinogenic gases rising from a crack in the ground would have been influencing the Pythia's dream like trance.
In exchange for offerings, the Pythia would offer crpyic messages on behalf of Apollo that the people would have to decipher for themselves.
"The Oracle also told the Athenians that a wall of wood could protect them. They did what she said and flew the city, and created their wall of wood on the water with their boats, winning that battle, but it was hopeless for the Spartans. The Pythia told the Spartans before the battle of Thermopylae (in the words of Herodotus):
"Hear your fate, O dwellers in Sparta of the wide spaces;
Either your famed, great town must be sacked by Perseus' sons,
Or, if that be not, the whole land of Lacedaemon
Shall mourn the death of a king of the house of Heracles,
For not the strength of lions or of bulls shall hold him,
Strength against strength; for he has the power of Zeus,
And will not be checked until one of these two he has consumed."
Every last Spartan who fought in the battle that the Oracle foresaw as doomed died, making even the most stubborn of people become believers of the Pythia's powers."
The Oracle of Delphi's prophecies were no small matter to the Greeks. The accuracy of her prophecies was enough to insure that the ancient Greeks would never make an important decision without consulting the Oracle.
Here is a link to more prophecies given by the Oracle of Delphi including her last cryptic message about Apollo.

Apollo and Branchus

Branchus was a mortal lover of the Greek God, Apollo. His mother felt the sun enter her throat during his birth and so she named him Branchus, after bronchia (throat)
Branchus grew up to be a shepherd and while working one day was noticed by Apollo who was passing by on a dolphin.

Disguising himself as a goatherd, Apollo approached Branchus wanting to earn his love and affection. After a while, they did fall in love and once they embraced / kissed 💋 Apollo gave Branchus a golden crown and staff along with the gift of prophecy.
Branchus became a prophet and priest to Apollo and lead a cult in Didyma and later built a temple for Apollo in Miletus. His prophecies were second only to the Oracle of Delphi. Branchus suddenly disappeared one day and his followers planted a tree to honor them both where they first kissed. The descendents of Branchus became an influential clan of prophets.

And that's just a brief introduction to one of the many men he loved.

The category of “mis-” isn’t to be taken as final in divination.
Misunderstanding the sign doesn’t mean you missed it forever and will never see another.
Misperceiving what the entity wishes from you doesn’t mean you forever lost their respect and love.
Misapplying efforts in whatever it is that you were trying out divination wise doesn’t mean you can’t start anew.
Mistaking the meaning of your divining results for something they weren’t meant to be doesn’t mean you failed as a diviner.
We are human. We make mistakes. We misunderstand, misapply, misperceive.
Shouldn’t stop you from trying again. 💫
TERFs DNI.

Me, My Path, & My Potential
02/24/22 Personal Three Card Spread

In the traditional Pamela Smith Illustration, the Heirophant has his hand lifted and 2 fingers together pointed upward towards the heavens. The individual fingers represent the human world and the spirit world.. and when he draws them together he is creating a bridge between those worlds. The heirophant gives me "channeler" vibes.
It's also the card for Taurus which can identify people who are traditional, committed, stubborn, and disciplined. However, I can admit that I am not as disciplined as I'd like to be.
For my current path, The High Priestess represents psychic development and being the keeper of hidden information. It also tells me that my current path is going to involve trusting my intuition and relying on my own inner guidance to push me forward.
Lastly, my potential being represented by the Magician.. please see my previous post on manifestation...the video talks about four elements or dimensions you need to control in order to manipulate what you want.
Those four dimensions being physical, emotional, mental, and the fundamental energies of life such as, fire. In other words the Pentacles, Cups, Swords, and Wands or the four suits in Tarot. AND what does the Magician have on his/her/their altar ? Knowledge is power.

Nothing From Nothing
This is Apollo's favorite song today, apparently, because it's been on repeat in my head for absolutely no reason. Lol

Some Thoughts and Things
When Sadhguru mentions how we are all the Wishing Tree, it made me think of the Magician Card in Tarot. And how he said all four elements need to be aligned and moving in the same direction.. much like the pentacles for physical, swords for mental, cups for emotion, and lastly fire for the fundamental element of life... or what I understand to be spirit.

We have become like he mentions, monkey minded.. unable to still ourselves long enough to focus that attention into our power. And we imitate so easily what we see others doing 🙊🙉🙈. And we are also as a collective so very disconnected from the spirit of life.

Symbolism of The Wagtail
"Wagtails feature in the myths of many cultures. In Ancient Greece, they were a symbol of love and a gift from the Goddess Aphrodite. Some say they are harbingers of rain, beckoning it with their constantly wagging tails"
It's a rainy day today in Arizona and a perfect day to pull this card. I work with Aphrodite and I've been reluctant to dedicate some time to her recently. I'll take this as a sign.
The Wagtail can be a symbol of good luck, a message from the gods that fortune is coming soon, and it also represents the restlessness of the wanderers in this world and perhaps even the next. In parts of New Guinea, wagtails are said to be ghosts of relatives and can bring good luck.
There is an old Irish rhyme and I definitely did NOT have to read it a few times to realize that is said goblin's clock and not... well yeah.
What even is a goblin's clock??
