This. Big time ❤️. The big why I do what I do. It's about People. It's amazing that I have the opportunity and chance to teach and empower people through their learning experiences in adapting a #DesignThinking mindset. . I'm given the opportunity to coach and mentor, lead them to inner transformations which changes lives. The shared experience gives both sides the gift in becoming better leaders, to lead by example and feel the rewards of having empowering one another to reach greater goals in all fronts, from the personal front to your work/career front. My clients gain the ability in how to see life/work challenges as opportunities instead of blocks. . If you or your organization could benefit from workshops on learning how to become better problem solvers, communicators, leaders, and want to boost confidence, empathy intelligence, and team work, give me a shout, I'd love to work with you and help raise you up.🙆👐 . . . #designthinker #consultant #workshop #facilitator #mentor #coach #empowerment #empathy #innovation #life #transformation #business #work #career #passionwork #dowhatyoulove #methodology #vancouver #igersvancouver #vancouverite #ilovemywork. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bkg2mDrhC9b/?igshid=11863ygwb9acz

19 Hammerstein and 4 facilitators kick off #gsjam #yvr 2017 with the name game to break the ice. We each got to introduce ourselves sharing a passion of ours and name, then demonstrate a dance move to the group. We then repeated the dance move while saying their names. So much fun with this group! (at The Network Hub)

And that's a wrap!! We did it! 18 participants, 10 different countries, divided into 4 teams working to solve "wicked problems" for 4 local organizations through the Innovating for Employment Success workshop with MosaicBC. #servicedesign Next week, the City of Vancouver, Zaber Technologies, and Camp Pacific will get to see the amazing work these guys did, solutions that came through learning and doing service design in just under 9 days. Solutions that create impact and value for all the stakeholder groups involved from services to products/tools. We all toiled together, faced deeper human side challenges that is brought on by language/cultural/personality barriers, as well one's hardwired self beliefs. In the end we saw how participants gained transformational realizations, on both professional to personal fronts. It's been a very rewarding experience yet again. An honor to work with such highly educated and a very international group. Congratulations teams! As always, it has been an honor to teach, facilitate and mentor, thank you all for providing me with so much more experiences as a service design consultant and educator/facilitator. And cheers to MosaicBC and Envisioning Labs for having sought me out to be part of the project. Also thank you to the ministry of innovations for supporting our collective endeavours! Post Pop: East Meets West at London’s Saatchi Gallery
For more photos and videos from “Post Pop: East Meets West,” browse the #emptysaatchi hashtag and follow @saatchi_gallery on Instagram.
An exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery (@saatchi_gallery) explores the international legacy of pop art — a movement that emerged in Britain and the US in the ‘50s and ‘60s and had a global impact. “Post Pop: East Meets West” is on display until March 3 and brings together 256 works, many never seen before, from the US, China, the former Soviet Union and the UK on different themes — from celebrity to commodity and mass production.
“The work is about the landscape in which we live,” explains gallery director Nigel Hurst. “It uses the human vernacular and borrows from pop culture, giving artists room to reference imagery the man on the street is already familiar with, but with a twist.”

Bringing Luminous Skeletons to Life with @ericfranklinstudio
For more photos and videos of Eric’s work, follow @ericfranklinstudio on Instagram.
Sure, skulls and skeletons carry a certain postmortem weightiness, admits Eric Franklin (@ericfranklinstudio), a glass artist from Portland, Oregon. But Eric insists his work comes from an optimistic, intuitive and visceral place. “These pieces describe and define the dynamics and interconnection of everything that makes us human — from our bones to our psyche,” he says.
To make his luminous skulls, Eric starts with one glass tube, and then adds more of various diameters to slowly “draw” the piece. Once sculpted, which can take as many as 80 hours, the skull is sealed and filled with neon gas — each curve and ripple of the glass impacting how the light flows within. “I’ve deliberately chosen to keep the history of my hand in the glass,” says Eric. “The wrinkled surface not only gives the pieces a more lifelike feel, but it makes the light exponentially more interesting.”

Finally getting the chance to test out my Equil Smart Pen 2. Not bad! There's a little bit of a learning curve involved. The receiver does a decent job recording what I sketch and write, as long as the pen has pressure put on it, which means light shading won't be recorded. I do wish there was a mechanical pencil option, for fast sketching of designs. The ink unfortunately gets a bit globby at the tip and thus when sketching, the ink gets all over the underside of my writing hand. The smudges don't show up though, since only pen strokes with pressure is registered. So far, it's handy enough! #Equilsmartpen2 (at Innov8 Collective)

It's a full house tonight with the @ServiceDesignCa meetup, exploring Alignment mapping and experience maps. I'm loving the growing interest from our local community of experience designers with learning about Service Design methodologies. Tonight our attendees included folks from Victoria. #servicedesignca (at The Network Hub - Vancouver - 3rd floor)
