The City of Kyoto is committed to promoting Kyoto Tourism Guidelines.  The Kyoto Tourism Guidelines are standards of conduct that were created with the aim of all people involved in Kyoto tourism respecting each other and working together to create sustainable Kyoto tourism.

In order to expand the circle of support for this idea of ​​Kyoto Tourism Guidelines, we are asking those who visit Kyoto this spring to write down on a message board what they would like to keep in mind during their trip.

Examples of pledges ・I will wear a kimono and enjoy the beautiful cityscape. ・I wll keep quiet in sacred places. ・I will enjoy delicious Kyoto cuisine. ・I will take my garbage back to my lodging. ・I will leave my luggage behind and sightsee hands-free. ・I will buy souvenirs from Kyoto. ・With gratitude to the city and people of Kyoto. ・I will walk in a single file while on the road. ・I will learn about the history of Kyoto. ・I will try to visit lesser known sightseeing spots.

Auch wenn es heute morgen Schneeflocken statt Blütenblätter geschneit hat, die Kirschblüte hat in Kyōto begonnen und bis zum Ende des Monats werden die Kirschbäume überall in der Stadt in voller Blüte stehen. Und mit der Keihan Eisenbahnlinie lassen sich die meisten der für die Kirschblüte berühmten Orte schnell und einfach erreichen.

Auch wenn der Erzähler Englisch spricht, so ist es offensichtlich, daß die Inhalte aus rein japanischer Perspektive präsentiert und fundierte Kenntnisse der japanischen Geschichte vorausgesetzt werden. Core Kyoto ist daher für Studenten der Japanologie sehr zu empfehlen ;-)
