I also enjoyed incorporating multimodal elements in the essays throughout the semester. In most courses, it is not discussed, or there is not an opportunity to include them. Like you mentioned, they were really able to enhance our messages within the essays and improve their overall quality.
Original Post 2/3
What I enjoyed most with my learning is the multimodal elements in an essay as well as the design structure throughout my writing. With learning how to include these elements and design structure, I felt it really built what message I was trying to relay in the majority of my writing. A lot of instances where I’d write for classes I’d use data or research I find online and write about it but with this class specifically, I felt as though the majority of what I wrote was authentic and meaningful.

Chunking information is very important. In any course, certain topics are more significant than others. In order to understand smaller details, you have to be very comfortable with the main and larger topics. Sometimes I as well as others can lose sight of what to prioritize and start to fall behind. That is why I try to quickly identify the order in which I should learn.
Original Content Writing #15 2/3
What do you like most about your learning?
I like most that I chunk information so then it is easier for me to understand. When I take notes, I write down the most important things. I can then remember why they are important and the purpose that they serve. We all have a different process for learning and we do learn more when we are doing things. I have learned a lot throughout this class this semester and I will use all of that information now on towards the future.

Adjustments to My Essay
The primary adjustment that should be made to my essay is professional language. My focus when beginning the essay was to use language that would be suitable for an interview. However, It is crucial that I ensure that language is consistent throughout the essay and for each question. Additionally, I should verify that I am staying within the suggested word count. Normally, the amount of words I provide is not very relevant as long as I effectively answer the prompt. Although in this instance, it's important that my answers provide enough detail for the interviewer to learn about me while remaining concise enough for the interview to still flow smoothly.

Pride in My Writing Process
Regarding my writing process, I am proud of the way I have improved my efficiency over the past few years, but especially this semester. Due to the knowledge and understanding I have gained about specific topics like the key concepts we learned about, I am able to establish a goal for my writing very quickly after receiving the prompt. I can effectively recognize what type of language I should use, how my writing should be structured, and what design elements I can use to improve the quality of my content.

Learning Development and Application
Throughout the semester, I have enjoyed being able to develop my knowledge on web writing and apply it to each assignment including this week's final assignment. The structure of the course encourages consistent application of the information which allows me to immediately evaluate how well I understand it. This week's essay is an opportunity to demonstrate my understanding of all aspects of web writing in a potential real-life scenario. It prompts me to begin thinking about exactly how the skills I have learned in the course will be relevant in my future.

Thursday Check-In Week 15
Tumblr media
For this week's assignment, I was wondering if we should be looking to include design components similar to the previous assignments. I know the assignment is focused on the interview questions and our responses, but it may also be beneficial to incorporate multimodal elements. For example, throughout the responses, we occasionally need to discuss experiences in past assignments. This could be a great opportunity to provide images of exactly what we are referring to. However, it's possible that this would not match the focus of the assignment as it is meant to model an interview. @npfannen

I like how you included multiple fans responses in the same thread. It encourages the feel of a real conversation on social media. The only suggestion I have is to change the design and format so it looks like the conversation came directly from a specific social media site. Other than that, the fan responses feel unique and realistic.
Example Posts
This is a small section of my design project, illustrating some of the angry fan replies to the cancelation of the show. I think I have made a good use of variety and language in these examples, but I am unsure as to if I am creating realistic points/posts. I attempted to create examples of the fans commenting and being responded to by other fans as well as the studio. I hope that this small section is showing my plans in a thought out and concise way, but would love (and greatly benefit from) some input from you all!

These descriptions are great as long as they translate well into actual posts. It's great to see that you have the entire situation visualized to the point where you can create specific and unique posts from angry fans. Your understanding of your audience seems very well-developed.
Original Post 3

This is a part of my design project part one. I have given an example of angry fans, using their language as an expression to the show. Should there be more detail on this bullet or do you think that this is enough detail to explain my angry fan posts?

I think it would be best to prioritize the uniqueness of each response. Fans (especially angry fans) want to know that someone is taking the time to read and consider what they have written in their post. If there is repetition with each reply, fans may feel as though their comments and posts aren't valued by the company.
Original Content Writing 3: week 14
share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise?
Tumblr media
Here is one of my response as well an initial post by an angry customer. In my response I wanted to think how would a company respond? One thing I made sure was to always add the same one line "We appreciate the support you have given us, thank you!" to each comment. Although, I also added a personal comment with it, that way it is not something that is automated throughout. Do you think the personal comment is a good touch, or do you think I should change anything to it?

Overall, this is a good example of an announcement post. The only thing I would add is some context as to what the genre of the show is. That could either be included in the post itself or the profile picture for TV Movie Studio Co.

Here is my announcement post for the design project. I wanted to word it in a way that seemed sympathetic towards fans while also providing a hashtag for fans to respond.

Design Project Content 2
Tumblr media
Above is the first page to my Design Project Part 2. Inversely to my previous post, I was wondering if this page has too much blank space. I feel mostly comfortable with the page's overall layout, but someone else may see a way to make the page more engaging.

Design Project Content 1
Tumblr media
Above is a page of my Design Project Part 2. Overall, I believe the page is organized well, and the colors aren't too aggressive. However, I was wondering if the page was too cluttered. I want to avoid an excess of blank space, but I don't want to overwhelm the reader with too much content on one page.

Sports and Angry Fandom
While the genre of sports is not exactly a TV show, it is great for developing an understanding of angry fandom. This is mainly due to the fact that there will always be angry fandom displayed anytime a game is played. One team/organization has to lose which means that at least one group of fans will be disappointed. Additionally, fans have a very strong connection to these teams/organizations because of location and their long history across decades. This creates the opportunity for extreme and unique angry fandom that improves our understanding of what it may look like.

Thursday Check-In Week 14
Tumblr media
I have a solid understanding of how to complete part 2 of the design project. However, I am unsure how much content and detail I should be looking to include. It feels like there are many different directions to go in this part of the project, and I am wondering what areas and ideas I should put my focus into. I understand there likely is not a clear answer for this, but hopefully any response will get me started on organizing priorities in my mind for the project. @npfannen

Keeping videos short on TikTok is usually the best decision. Like you mentioned, people don't expect to see longer videos on TikTok so they will scroll immediately or skip to the end. For me, the second I see the progress bar at the bottom that indicates the time elapsed in the video, I'll start watching the video in 2x speed. I feel as though it's instinctive for users on TikTok to try and watch as many videos as possible in a short amount of time. However, as you implied, a creator with a consistent and loyal audience can succeed with long videos if that's what they're expected to post.
Style "rules" for TikTok
A style rule for creating a TikTok video is to keep it short! I know now you can upload a video that is up to 10 minutes long but personally if a video is longer than 3 minutes on TikTok I’m scrolling or skipping through it, but I am obviously not a member of every audience on TikTok. I think in general people go on TikTok to scroll through MANY videos and have a laugh or two. If your video is 10 minutes long and doesn't have a consistent audience, then it’s likely not many viewers will sit and watch a 10-minute-long video on TikTok. Another style rule I would suggest is to use trending hashtags and sounds. That way people who interact with those sounds or hashtags are more likely to have your video pop up on their for-you-page.

I agree with everything you stated in this post. In addition to your point about music being repetitive, a podcast may be more enjoyable to listen to than music, especially over the period of an hour or more. Personally, I'll choose to listen to podcasts when I have to take a long drive or when I'm at work. It's a great way to keep your mind occupied to pass the time while remaining focused on a specific task.
Original Content #3 Appeal of Long Podcasts
Podcasts have been a trendy kind of content that has been developed. They're engaged because of the conversations they're able to bring with them. The audience listens in to learn new things, hear stories, or be able to relate to what is being said. That main concept of relating to the podcasts is what stands out to the different styles of content. If an individual can relate to a story, they'll know they're not alone. If an individual can learn something new and be inspired, they'll continue to listen in to help better themselves. If an individual enjoys listening to stories, then they'll continue to tune in until the end to see what happened. Music may be entertaining, but it may get repetitive so that's where podcasts come in to replace the music for entertainment.

Style Rule for TikTok Videos
My style rule for TikTok videos is quality over quantity. Short, punchy content has a better chance to resonate with the fast-paced nature of TikTok and the shorter attention spans of its users. Additionally, by posting content that is easy to consume in a short amount of time, you can increase the chances of viewers watching the video to completion, and continuing to engage through likes, comments, shares, or follows, and ultimately attracting more followers. This style rule helps creators stand out by providing content that is both memorable and shareable, which increases their visibility and appeal to potential followers.
