The way Aurora described it sounded... Intimate, because if nothing else it was obvious that the chancellor and Farenduil had been spending a great deal of time together. Obviously, this irked him the wrong way, but he hadn't come here to start yet another fight, and he especially hadn't come here to talk about.... Aurora and Farenduil in a car together. Micah could feel his body tensing in a reflexive response to the daydream-like quality that had overtaken Aurora's features for a moment. He'd spent too much energy tearing into her, blaming her for everything instead of seeing the chancellor for what she was. They all had their damage, and they all made mistakes. Micah had made his share.
"I don't-" Micah sighed for a second before he took a breath, "That's not why I'm here. I just wanted to make amends. I said a lot the last time we saw each other, and all that aside, I don't want to carry these feelings towards you anymore."
Aurora nodded as he spoke. It was odd, almost uncomfortable to stand there with the eladrin. Because while the elve had very much wanted to maintain a cordial relationship with Farenduil’s son, that had never been up completely to her. He’d been cold, distant and resentful; it was something that Aurora couldn’t blame him for at all. She would have been the same if not much, much worse.
“You’d be surprised,” Aurora replied at the subtle dig with a wry smile. She might have given an explanation but mentioning her past, all that happened with her children, with Ayi’ig or with anything else felt too risky still. “I learned to cook without magic and apparently I’m not so bad about it,” she said with some pride. “Bought a motorcycle too… though that was because the last time your father was in my car he came out white knuckled.” Aurora grinned at the memory, almost losing herself completely to it. “The motorcycle is a lot more like a direwolf.”

"There's a cabin right there Em," Micah said as he pointed behind them, Flora was big on maintaining their we live in an enchanted forest aesthetic, but he smirked, knowing full well what the witch had meant. Bathhouse with the Beast could be fun; that had been a good time, that was almost two years ago now. "Crazy how time flies." Here they were, getting older every day. Nothing was slowing down for them; it was full steam ahead; immortality hadn't really sunk in yet, but in a decade or two, the fact that he wasn't changing was going to make that factor a bit more real. "If you wanted some braiding to decompress, all you had to do was ask." It's mostly a joke because he hasn't done anything like that since- well, not for a few months anyway.
He takes a second, leans against the blonde's side as he looks off into the water and it's not really something he thinks about, grand romantic gestures. Probably because he'd never really seen them at home for any sort of milestone. His dad had brought home flowers a couple of times, his parents had gone out for anniversaries, that was the extent of it. Idly, Emory takes one of Micah's hands in his, tangles their fingers together as he tries to think on it. A whole year already, they'd come a long ways, they deserved to celebrate something. "We could get away for a bit, hole up in a cabin. Spend a day at the bath house maybe." He wondered how their one tentacled friend was doing, if maybe they'd be up for a round two. What said romance like double teaming someone with your significant other? "I could use the R&R."

At that question, Micah just laughed, "I bet Em would love that, but no, no, I'm not looking to take over." There was a folder in his bag that he'd been carrying around with him, ideas, plans, possibilities. He knew many of their suppliers firsthand, he had a good relationship with the customers here, and the eladrin had a good mind for what people wanted and the mystical world. "I want a loan... or to see if you're interested in investing? All in One has all the raw ingredients, everything a witch or hipster could want to make their tonics and whatever else, Çiçek has potions for whatever people need to heal them, but there's nothing... fun about either. I'm good friends with Flora, I'm an eladrin, I want to open an apothecary in Lupercal; tonics to put a smile on people's faces, business between Rome, the lycans, and the elves. Ever since-" Micah thought briefly of his time in The End, his body decimated and worked to the bone to constantly transmute materials. "I can make just about anything; I want to do something good with my life that'll make people happy. I just," Back to sheepish, because at the end of the day, he was still asking for money here. "I just need a hand. My credit score is kind of nonexistent."
"....Right," Abel nodded, throughout all of life's tumultuous twists and turns, the Castle's success had been his own to culminate; nobody could take such credits from him. "You're not asking me to sign the deed over to you, yeah?" As subtle and vague as wondering if Micah had his own little mom and pop shop in the works or any variation of the sort; Micah didn't scream manager of the year material but anything was possible and the Castle was rooting for the guy.

"Yeah... yeah that sounds like her." Micah conceded as he worried his hand at the back of his neck. He had every faith that his sister would be back at some point, she was just the kind of person who couldn't stay away. Anyways, the two of them had a lot of time now, forever, some might say. That was something that the young eladrin was still wrapping his mind around, forever and immortality, but he had no real frame of mind for it yet. In a few decades, it'd start to really sink in, but now he had bigger problems, he was still reeling from the events of the end, his slip-ups afterward, and why he'd come to stand in front of Aurora now.
"Faren told you?" It felt strange to say his name but Micah didn't really know what else to call him now, he smirked, albeit a bit sheepishly. "I didn't know you spent a lot of time with mortals." The dig was subtle, he knew what the man had given up and it looked good on him.
Lupercalia was going on and Aurora would stop by only for the finale. It would be wise to see who would be next to lead their wolven neighbors. But the Chancellor currently busied herself in Nighthaven, speaking to the elves that were intent on bringing in old tomes and ancient books salvaged from the former Winter Court of the Otherworld. Warriors intent on facing dangers out there to retrieve their history. Already looking rather worried as she watched them ride away, the same expression on Aurora's face only took on a new hint of shock as she turned to notice the blonde eladrin approach.
"She left a letter," Aurora admitted. "And Faren told me." Otherwise, it would have been a panic for the both of them - wondering where she might have gone to. "... How have you been, Micah? And welcome to the Lunar Mountains. Aneth ara." The elvish was a typical elven greeting, but one that was typically reserved only for their kind rather than outsiders, though Aurora extended it to all the half elven who visited.

@wintersaurora location: Lunar's Mountains Village Fun notes: sorry
Name-dropping was kind of shameless, but it worked wonders. It helped that the eladrin could tell when he was being misled, Micah was vocal, so calling elves out on being sneaky little shits was something he almost enjoyed doing. Micah made it up in the small, winter village and was surprised at how comfortable it was. Finding Aurora was easy but knowing what to say next was less so, he started with something stupid, "Emma's gone, she left uh. I don't know if she told you she was leaving but yeah, traveling I guess. Working." Since she was dead.

@lainxsolus location: Lubefest notes: 1 year since Lain sucked his tentacle
Micah had taken some distance because while he'd gotten sober, his friend hadn't, and while the eladrin wasn't going to preach at him, he had taken some space while he focused on himself. It was hard to picture the scrawny, strung-out man beating anyone but himself in a fight, but Micah had seen the roster go up, and while he was surprised, he was oddly... Proud? Happy for him? At least Lain was fighting for something, Micah wasn't sure if he'd ever really done much of the same. "Shit got pretty crazy last year." Micah took a beat as he ran a hand through his hair and thought about everything he tried not to think about at once. The body that had stopped being his, the pain, and then finally, The End. "But we're alive so that counts for something, right?"

"It's one year for us." Micah thought it was worth pointing out, he hadn't planned anything big or extravagant or anything like that. Truthfully, he wasn't sure if Emory was even the type or if he wanted to keep things more subtle or nonchalant. "Did you want to do anything?" Just coming right out and asking seemed like the thing to do because while the two of them had had their fights, they had stayed together consistently throughout. Officially, committedly, and publically, and that alone was a record for them. "Like, you know, to celebrate or is Lubefest going to be enough?"
"Good, Marco won't let me take anymore from the Dahlia kitchen." Emory didn't like to think of himself as particularly mischievous, he was playful at most, a brat every so often. But the relationship he had with the kitchen witch was akin to Wiley Coyote and the Roadrunner. If Wiley Coyote's entire deal was stopping the Roadrunner from setting foot in the kitchen or looking in the cupboard. It's more than a little amusing and he desperately needs to get his kicks somewhere. Sitting down on the dock beside the blonde, he's quick to lean over and press his lips to the side of his face. "Can't believe it's that time again." Lupercalia last year had been the first time they'd really gotten together for real, had stopped coming together (literally) only to wind up repelled against one another. It's also a distraction from literally everything, he thinks they both desperately need that with the looming constant Hart shaped elephant in the room that he's dealing with now.

@emorystarling location: Mojo Dojo Casa De Flora and Micah's Cabin in Lupercal notes: I'm going to end up making this sad but you love me
Back on track was one way of putting it. Cautiously optimistic and yet still haunted by his past- there was something to be said about shared trauma and making amends. For all his bluster, there were still many people that Micah had hurt; somewhere in the back of his mind, he was thinking about Aurora and his dad as he sat on the docks and idly pushed the breeze over the water's edge. He watched as the wind made the lake ripple, how it churned with the magic that had bloomed under his fingertips a few months ago. Micah had already thought that he could go anywhere and do anything; freedom used to be all he wanted. Now it felt like a burden, too much rope and-
"Loaded up on Jiffy." Micah spoke casually over his shoulder with a halfhearted smile as he sat on the deck. His outfit was still a surprise so he'd put it on before they left, but Lupercalia was one year for them. One real year. One year without a breakup and one year since they had promised to forgive the other for anything. "It's tradition, after all."

Abel basically already had a foot out the door already when Micah had stopped him in his tracks. Maybe he could have chosen a better time to have this conversation but they were already here so there was no turning back now."You've run this shop for as long as I've known you; you're the sovereign of your coven now." These were just statements and weren't really questions, but Micah was getting to it. "You'd consider yourself a success, right? Like you're, you know, well off now and everything?" He didn't want to pry, but it seemed like Abel was doing pretty good for himself.
Something of a new start for them all; propped as Senator's and wrangling a whole mess of halfbloodeds and witches, Nathan and Abel had ventured into a good place. Whatever was between the couple was often met with tender resolution, this fateful red string that consistently shifted the duo back together. Where once the two vied to thrive off escapism, leave Rome behind and sit on some beach with blended, fruity drinks, Abel rather adored this new niche he was found in. It was why the Castle had lately slipped away when All In One officially closed, was confident enough to leave Micah with the closing procedures; there was a life to live, a man he loved, how often the Castle had sacrificed himself to be the building block of some foundation. All In One was his lifeblood, hardwork and grit propelling the shop as a staple upon the streets of Rome; but Nathan had always been everything else.
The question stopped Abel in his tracks, the Dahlia Sovereign having already slipped his jacket on and pulled a cigarette from behind his ear for the small trek home. His brows crinkled in curious worry, it wasn't often that Micah garnered this gravely serious note, but when the eladrin did, Abel often listened. He stepped forward, away from the exit and towards Micah as the Castle pulled up a barstool to sit before him, "What's up?"

Zahrya was such a nut, but in his heart, he was just someone who cared very deeply for his people and was incredibly passionate. Micah didn't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater here but as powerful and frightening as Zahrya's mood swings could be, the eladrin never felt like he was in any danger around him. "There's a lot of kids out there without a good home." Micah pointed out as he thought about the orphans that Emma had wanted to wrangle, there were formerly faimen children all over the world that had awoken to immortality. "Eladrins that are probably in a lot of danger now, we could use help tracking them down." He gestured, "Bringing them here."
✿*° ‘° ・
Zahrya understood that no one was as fertile as him. Children were a struggle to most from conception to birth, but Zahrya knew well that for all the strife they seemed to bring they also carried love with them. He could only relate to the love part, having the perfect children and partner to raise them with, but he'd gotten better with empathy. "So long as your heart remains open to light and love, you'll have your family. I promise you. Keep referencing the glee they'll bring and he'll come around," Zahrya says confidently, feeling like he has a firm understanding of Micah's sentiments. "With three beautifully potent offspring and more on the way, I am an expert on family matters too. There's a chance healing yours will encourage both of you to take the next steps."

Micah Wright
A playbook of the variety of small, largely inconsequential tattoos that Micah got while he was living in New York seven+ years ago. Some were done on a whim, others he picked off the wall, some he doesn't remember getting, and others were done by friends after a day of drinking or other illicit activities. Some of them Micah regrets, but he isn't the kind of person to ever get them covered up; truthfully, he's grown out of getting tattoos in general; this point, he has so many random small tattoos that there is not really a cohesive story. Just some silly little splatters of ink from the beginning of a very dark time in his.
cw: drugs
1. cupid with an assault rifle, left ribcage
at 18, Micah got his first tattoo; it was supposed to be ironic because of the recent breakup that he'd gone through with Emory. A new face in New York City, Micah started off waiting tables, and when he'd scraped together enough money, he got this with some coworkers on a whim.
2. sword through the collarbone, left side
another sober addition, Micah was still in his first year in New York City when he went with a friend from work to keep them company. While waiting, he saw this on the wall and said, "Yeah, sure, that one."
3. broken cigarette, right ribcage
one afternoon, when he was out with his friends, he lost a bet and had to get a tattoo of someone else's choice. There's a story attached to this about how he'd broken his last cigarette and almost put his face through the wall, so they went with this.
4. happy/sad face, left forearm
not done professionally, he had a friend who wanted to practice on something other than oranges so Micah offered them his arm one morning when he was high.
5. sunrise, left interior middle-finger
a tattoo that matches one that Emma has. Micah talked her into this through their journal before she knew he was getting high.
6. dat ass, left exterior ankle
inspired by a girl Micah was sleeping with, he looked nothing like her, but that's how Micah said he always thought of her. A decade later, he hasn't really changed much in that regard.
7. spark up, right thumb and left pointer
another decision that he made one afternoon when he was under the influence; he thought it was really funny, and the artist that he paid to do it was used to Micah putting down whatever amount of money he needed to get it done.
8. reaper on a skateboard, right exterior ankle
after coming to in the hospital, it was kind of a running joke among him and his friends that death couldn't keep up with him. On a whim, he ended up getting this, although he is, always was and always will be terrible on a skateboard.
9. abduction, right interior heel
a faiman living among humans, he'd lost his job by the time he'd gotten this and was more or less living off whatever charity he could get from his mom and Emma. There was never much thought put behind his tattoos, so he just got this because he'd always felt very out of place and was compensating.
10. fuck u (affectionate), middle finger
the first time Emma cut him off resulted in this, he really thought he was so rebellious and cool.
11. colorado, right ring finger
vaguely sentimental, he doesn't remember getting this one, whether it was done professionally or by his friend.
12. rock on, left knee
micah had scraped together enough money and went with some friends, this was another case where he saw something on the wall and just went with it. A lot of the time, he felt dead inside but just kept moving forward, and rock on was his usual response to what felt like endless bad news.
13. hang loose, left interior ankle
while Micah remembers waking up with this one, he has no recollection of ever getting it done.
14. lost in space, left bicep
the last tattoo Micah ever got, this one was before he went completely off the rails. At this point in his life, he'd been fired from a few gigs, he was putting more stress on his mother than anyone ever should, and he was completely blowing up the life Emma was trying to build for them. Shortly after this, she moved the two of them to Rome.

Tension broiled within the eladrin's gut as he felt himself coming undone at Emory's plea. Warmth flooded Micah before his balls tightened, shooting deep inside the witch as he pushed through his orgasm. Hearing Emory beg always sent him over the edge without fail; Micah's legs shuttered in response as he collapsed on the other and felt his body twitching through the finality. "Havin' my baby, what a lovely way of saying how much you love me." Micah sang jokingly against the other's back before he stood upright again and slowly inched himself out of Emory's ass. Sensitive, Micah twitched one last time before he grabbed something to clean his dick off with.

If only. Rainer was right; it should be. Micah should have been standing on the rooftops, singing at the top of his lungs. Something inherently defective in his brain kept him from being especially happy about how things had turned out. Emory was talking about the next steps, and Micah was trying to get into that mindset, too, but it was hard when he felt so far behind. Everyone seemed to know what to say, what to do, and how to act. Rainer had been through this sort of hell more than once, apparently; yet Micah found himself stuck in the same place, struggling to move forward. When they talked about how the strong would survive, Micah assumed that meant physical. It never occurred to him that life and trauma had their own way of weeding out the people who could stiffen their upper lip and trudge forward from everyone else. People like him who stayed sat in the same place while the rest of the world kept moving forward. Micah still felt paralyzed; he had fallen into old habits to take comfort, and there was a part of him that wondered if he'd ever be like everyone else. If it was even possible for him to just learn to brush it off and keep his head up. "Well, I'm immortal now so I guess I have to figure it out."
Rainer had watched many people question their place in the world, questioning the outcomes of decisions made by themselves and others. It was difficult to not ask the 'what if?' questions. There was were so many paths laid out before each of them, it was natural to wonder what had laid in wait down the ones they hadn't traveled. "Does it matter?" He asked, tilting his head. "You can drive yourself mad with all that wondering. But what will it do you?" He looked down the street the two of them walked, watching the different people interacting, living. "Despite it all, you're alive. You survived, you're here. Emory is here." He thought again of Yihdra, of Marisol. How he'd loved and lost two incredible women. Yet here he stood, alone. "Isn't that enough?"
