July 18, 2024 River Bottoms
At the bottoms we have seen lotus leaves for awhile . today we saw buds and some open flowers. I was watching to see where the flowers come from, now I understand better! It’s pretty obvious how yellowish the flower is when comparing side by side with white water lilies. Near the railroad tracks we saw open lotus. Also noticed the bright colors inside the flower .

Instagram post: draw random things, one object a day look for textures etc. Example 40 day challenge
Look at the Instagram post…
Painting collections of various found 'things', some of which l've saved for a while and others that are new.
“It's always fun to play around with this type of idea, with different textures and colours, and you can keep adding over time. The options for making these collections paintings is endless and it's a great way of filling a page with small things..... and it can turn into a big page. A long time ago I recall doing these 40 day challenges, to paint one small thing each day....
Perfect for this sort of idea. Random or themed pages ....it doesn't matter.... Just enjoy the process and never give in to pressure.”

Dogbane plant back yard outside corner of garage back.
Something in the plant makes these critters distasteful to bats.

Early July 2024
Trimming out some mint, penstemon finished flowering,
Under this stuff: little Jacob’s Ladder, columbine, when thinning look for little shade woodland plants.
The mints attract lots of pollinators but grow thick and cover the little stuff.
