An old friend of mine made a passing comment when I was complaining about how difficult it is to come up with interesting original ideas for stories since everything has basically been told before.

She simply told me, "Yeah, but not by you."

And buddy, I dont know why it hit me so hard, but that's stuck with me ever since then.

all i need to do is write a story and then adapt that story into a comic and then adapt that comic into an animated show and then adapt the show into a feature length movie and do all of it with no studio or budget and then find the smallest opening in a cave and then crawl thru it and fossilize

people might think creating OC lore involves a lot of thinking & planning, but in my personal experience, OC development is more like a divine vision from a god slamming you over the head with a mallet while ur doing the fuckin dishes or folding laundry
