The idea of the losers trying to function as the typical, healthy adult friend group is laughable, sorry. Their catchphrase is “so much for boundaries” and I love it.

Proud to present my completed IT/Reddie fangame: Use Your Outside Voice, Richie Tozier! I hope people have fun playing it!
Download here: https://mapurl.itch.io/use-your-outside-voice
A fix-it fangame, but also a rumination on the power of transformative fanworks as a whole. Arrow keys to move. Spacebar to interact. Length is approximately one hour. Game should autosave at the beginning of scenes. Note that starting a new game will overwrite this save.

before they go back to Derry and get their memories back, Richie manages to get cast in the leading role for a Denbrough novel adaptation, and Bill's not involved in that production so he has no problem like. publicly slamming the casting decision. just goes after Richie's entire career and makes multiple shady comments about 'stunt casting' and Hollywood caring more about money than the Art and all that.
so Richie starts making jokes about Bill every chance he can get- improvs a few into his standup and they all go viral, keeps posting pics of him in costume on set or reading the book with flowery, long winded captions that boil down to "this is the stupidest story I've ever read. thank you Mr. William Denbrough for absolutely changing my life. your faith in me and this film means everything. burn in hell. God bless✌"
Bill posts unflattering paparazzi pics of Richie with captions like "#NotMyCharacter" and Richie responds by seeking Audra out at an award show and asking her to pose for a pic to piss off Bill ( richie: "we don't have to do anything too crazy-" audra: "no he blew me off tonight to do a concert with his improv harmonica garage band, we're gonna full on kiss and my leg will be around your waist. place your hand right so it looks like you're unsnapping my bra through my dress" richie: "God you married beneath you")
Richie gets Audra to send him videos and exposes Bill's sad little band. Bill fabricates articles about Richie's ticket sales plummeting and tweets them out like "hmmm..." and ignores everyone who points out that he clearly wrote them. Richie begins playing a parody version of Bill on snl and does the most outlandish shit he can get away with in that costume.
overall it's just the most random celebrity beef anyone's ever seen, but it's hilarious as fuck and the internet eats it up.
but then after Derry when they get their memories back....they just start hanging out again. they keep getting photographed getting lunch or heading to the movies or Bill going to Richie's shows. just guys being dudes. everyone is so fucking confused by the abrupt change in behavior. one day the two of them are like walking out of restaurant with some of the other losers and tmz CORNERS them and is like "what happened??? your feud is over???" and Bill looks directly in the camera and is like, 'no, it's not over, I absolutely hate this man' and Richie's like 'I would murder Bill right here right now if I could guarantee I wouldn't get arrested" and the other losers are just like. cackling in the background.
so then their social media becomes a weird mix where like. they insult each other lovingly lmao. Bill still blatantly writes slanderous articles about Richie (he literally signs them with his name) but then tweets out the articles with the caption "how dare you talk about my best friend this way". Richie posts a throwback thursday pic on instagram of him and Bill in like first grade, hugging and looking adorable, captioned "worst person I've ever met, every day I regret talking to you 💙💙💙".
Audra posts videos of them getting absolutely plastered while watching the movie that started this whole mess (the last video is Bill crying on the kitchen floor "it was actually good that's not fair" while Richie's in the background dancing to the menacing music that's playing over the credits)
on Bill's birthday, Richie posts a picture of Bill sneezing into a bowl of salsa captioned "regrettably, I would fight a murderous clown for you😔". on Richie's birthday, Bill is radio silent and then 3 days later posts a pic of teenage Richie falling out of a tree with a joint in his mouth, captioned "I don't believe you were actually born"
at some point Bill ends up hosting an snl episode and during his monologue Richie comes out in his Bill Denbrough Character Costume and keeps interrupting and harassing him. by the end of the monologue they lean in to kiss right when the screen cuts to commercial. everyone online loses it
just...chaos

it chapter two: creates a whole storyline where the adult losers all hate mike for making them stay in derry so they decide to abandon the fight to kill It, which then forces mike to resort to racial stereotypes like drugging bill and manipulating the losers into believing a lie that the ritual of chüd will work. and then because beverly saw all their deaths if they didn’t fight, the losers only decide to stay to keep themselves alive because muschietti thought that would make the story more “precise” and realistic.
the actual reality:

and this is their response after being attacked by deadly fortune cookies:

i literally cannot stop thinking about adult losers club though like just a bunch of depressed middle aged assholes who are so entrenched in the holes they’ve accidentally dug themselves that they’re each convinced that these sad and unfulfilling and abusive lives are all that there’s gonna be for them because it’s all they know and they’re far too old to change now right only they’re not too old and it’s not too late and they still manage to find people with whom they belong and who love and care for them unconditionally and unreservedly and im just so obsessed with adult losers club learning to live in the face of that kind of care that absolutely shakes the foundations of an entire life already lived
