Hello there! I was wondering how do you manage your itinerary for your trip to Japan and some useful apps or tips you might have? Safe travel! o/
Hi! Aah I'm not the best person to ask that, sorry 🥹 I usually don't plan strict itineraries because I know myself and I don't fare well with packed travel schedule (low stamina, bad stomach, and I fall ill easily...). Google map is where I spend the most time for research, also Reddits, and instagram travelers that specialize in one subject are nice.
I'm a big notebook user (I write down the places I want to see, opening days and hours + how to reach them) and always print maps and tickets so I don't only rely on apps, in case the data is patchy or if there's any problem with my phone.
I think knowing what you like to see in a foreign country is the most important tips though!
I realized that even though I never did a lot of "classic touristy things" from Japan (like I never slept in a ryokan, or hiked mount Fuji) and almost always stayed in Tokyo, I didn't really care or had FOMO.
But I know I like visiting art museums, looking at shops to find interesting design ideas, and getting a feeling of the normal daily life of a country!
That last point is what always gave me my favorite memories, just seeing the tiny details of people's life, the small temple at the corner of the street, the very mundane shops, the neighborhood cats, and be a part of it for a limited time, and you cannot plan that. So I like to pick a place to stay for a long enough time, look at its surroundings on google street/map, then look if there's places of interest nearby? Same for the museums, I look at what I could do next to one I know I want to go to. That and walking through loooots of shops to find merch that I'm interested in!!!
But I'm doing that at a pace that I think most people would think I'm wasting time lol;
And that's all I think, sorry it's not very original, and thanks! 🥹

Let's wrap 2024 with the traditional yearly art summary!
I just went back to read last year's wrap up and... I might write very similar points this time as well haha. Personal life took most of my time: me and my husband finally found a great house, and we bought it! It's quite something, and we're still right in the middle of packing everything to move out. In 2025, I will still need time to settle there, I know I want to do it properly.
Art wise, I'm glad that I was able to continue the pencil sketches! I did around 50... I still haven't posted most of them! I'm planning to gather them in a book alongside new sketches, in 2025, so they will all be in one place. I appreciate that I felt gradually more confident making them. It allowed me to draw without worrying about colors or marketable design, and it pushed me out of the desire for perfectness digital art often gives.
Convention wise, I did a necessary pause in 2024, but I was glad that the new products I launched around November were well liked! It's giving me confidence that it can work and will try to do more in 2025.
Also, I know I haven't been the most interesting to follow these last few years, still I wanted to thank every one of you that still follows me, I see every like and share, messages and more, recognizing familiar names as well as meeting new ones. Thanks for tagging along! See you all in 2025 🥂

Hello, do you organize your digital space for your art and projects a certain way? Do you keep them in trackt or they are cluttered over the years?
(sorry for late answer aaa)
Uhmm they're a mix of both I'd say? lol;
Here's what I do: I have 2 main big folders, one for files related to my art in general and one for my book projects.
The book projects one is split in smaller folder dedicated to each project then it each contains under-folders with concept art, working files, and flattened files + Indesign files.
For the "general art files" one, I create one per year then let the files pile down chronologically. Scans of traditional art, printing files, and product pictures are each on their folder at the top of this general yearly folder.
I'm on MacOS so I think a lot of my habits are related to how it lets you customize folders? I can set the visual previews of the files as I want. Make the previews bigger, set then on a grid or completely put them wherever I want... I literally build my books flatplans inside Finder, I love how adaptable it is.
Also the file name search is pretty handy, I try to always put easy to remember keywords in there so even if I don't know where the file is, I can just guesstimate a keyword in there and boom. Over the years I think it's my fav tips so I just write longer and longer file names haha

Hello, I remember your tablet giving up around chrismas or so, did you replaced it with the same model or have you upgraded it to a recent one?
Hi! Yeah my old tablet died about a year ago. I dropped it and the second mini USB was ripped from where it was attached (I did the same with the first USB 10 years ago... so no usable port left). My husband opened it to try and repair it but it was too damaged, so I replaced it with a very similar model!
Truth is I knew my old tablet, bought in 2009, was probably gonna give up at a time or another so some years ago I snatched another Wacom Intuos (A model 5 I think) from Amazon's black friday sale lol; A pretty good deal, that was sitting in its box waiting for its turn.
So yeah, even though I changed my tablet, I only used that spare one and did not go through the whole "should I buy something different" process. I still very much prefer no-screen tablet!
