meet people to help you understand those roles better this enables you to shortlist the roles best fit for you,

You proceed to apply to the roles.

Get selected and start adding value while adding new and honing existing skills.

Recapping what I shared today on interview preparation

Practice with people you trust and aks for their feedback. Can they understand the story? Are you covering each aspect of storytelling I.e., situation, task, action and result?

This will help you to get a 3rd person perspective and further improve your stories and interview skills

Recording yourself and listening back to do tweaks to your storytelling is the best way to practice for an interview (especially these days when most interviews are happening online/virtually)

Creating a resume requires a lot of introspection and thought.

Hoping these do's will help you a bit in the journey to create or recreate your resume

Applying to b-schools is very stressful.

One way to help ease out the stress is to prioritize the schools that you are targeting to any to.

For me, the important criteria was a 1 year program and small class size.

It doesn't mean I didn't apply to schools with 2 year program or large class, but I applied to the ones that fit into my criteria first and then to the rest.

This helped me to stay focused, apply to schools that meet my expectations and be slightly stress free.

Although I tried to maximize my MBA experience by getting involved in clubs, extracurricular and intense job searches, I feel I was in a shell for the first few months which hindered me from challenging myself to my full potential.

Not sure if it was due to the transition as an international student or just my lack of confidence.

When students reach out to me to ask for my advice, these are the things that I share with them with hopes that in case they are holding themselves back, it might help them achieve their full potential.
