Yesterday we did not have much luck in the fight for pole position, but in the race today we did a good job. I noticed throughout the race that I had a big chance of victory, I was confident and I gave everything to make it so. This win is very important for the overall standings. Miguel Oliveira in San Marino GP: Podium Come Back and Moto2 Step Up
Miguel Oliveira was back on podium in San Marino GP after had a typical dramatic Moto3 fight with the riders in the leading group. He led for many lap even in the last lap, however he was beat by Enea Bastianini in a slipstream battle and had to satisfied with the second place.
“It was a pretty good race. I had a good pace and I was able to lead for many laps, although this is mentally tiring when you are trying not to make any mistakes. I think this year the level is quite high in the class and we saw a good race. We set good times and despite the fact that some of our rivals are very young, they did not make mistakes. On the last lap, Enea Bastianini was able to overtake me thanks to the slipstream; I congratulate him because he had a good race. He had not managed the slipstream on previous laps, so I did not expect it, but I have to be happy with second position because it has been a long time off the podium for me. For the end of the season I hope to do this more often and I hope to get some more victories.”
So far, Miguel Oliveira is in the 4th place rider’s championsip standing and has collected 134 points, 100 less than the championship leader’s points, Danny Kent, who is possibly going to be his teammate in Moto2 next year.

Moto3: Miguel Oliveira Returns in Indianapolis
The Portuguese rider promises to fight for the title
Miguel Oliveira returns to action in the Indianapolis Grand Prix on 9 August, this weekend. He promises to back after he suffered a fractured fourth left metacarpal the German Grand Prix on 10 July.
"I'm feeling better every day. Right now, I'm following a recovery plan that allows me to gain movement in my left hand and strength in the fingers,” he stated.
“With the injury that I had, it's a little bit early to think I'm in perfect condition for Indy, but I'm working hard every day so that I can face the race as fit as possible.”
After won in Netherlands and Italy, Oliveira broke his left metacarpal in the first free practice of the ninth race. He is currently in the third place of Moto3 World Championship (102 points), less 88 points of Danny Kent, the Championship leader and less 22 points of Enea Bastianini.
While it is mathematically possible, I will continue to work with my team always with the title in our mind. It is true that we had some bad luck in some races, but I think we have been very good pace in many of Grand Prix racing and we still have nine races to fight for victory,” he said.
Miguel Oliveira regretted 'some bad luck' for not having completed every race, while evaluating positively the first half of the season during the time where their KTM turned in its maximum performance.
“We're all going very fast, with lap times faster than last year. Danny Kent has had an easy one and now we have to make it complicated to him,” he said, aiming to be in front and win races.
For the next nine races, Miguel Oliveira acknowledges that in some of the circuits can be naturally very strong, those are Silverstone, Misano, Motegi, Phillip Island and Malaysia.
"I will be very excited to be able to fight for the title until the end and give everything. If I do not win, then at least because the winner has a more brilliant performance", he added.

Miguel Oliveira Claimed His First Winning in His Moto3 Career
The Portuguese rider became the winner of Moto3 Mugello, Italy
Miguel Oliveira won the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello circuit and become the first Portuguese to win the Moto3 World Championship.
Taking the start from the 11th grid, Miguel Oliveira took the lead of the race 12 laps of the end. Despite losing the leading for several times, he managed to win the sixth round of Moto3 race.
At the first corner of the last lap, the Portuguese was pushed back to fourth position, however in the last seconds of 20 laps race, he was able to recover and claimed back the lead in the final corner, holding the attack of Danny Kent.
The Italian round winning brought the Portuguese went up to fourth position in Rider World Championship Standings with 66 points. Danny Kent still holds the top rank with 124pts, ahead of Italian Enea Bastianini (78pts) and Romano Fenati (67pts).
Miguel Oliveira:
“I am very happy with this first victory in the World Championship. I cannot believe it –I had tears in my eyes after crossing the finish line. It was a very difficult race because at first the front group broke away. I was able to catch them and then I decided to escape. I was not sure that they would, but in the end the tyres held up well and in the final sector I regained the lead and kept on the throttle to the finish line –which was very far!
I want to thank the whole team because it’s been amazing. We worked hard for this and we deserve it. Also thank you to my father, because it was he who instilled a passion for motorcycles in me and I would not be here without him.
Becoming the first Portuguese to win a Grand Prix is an honour and a privilege. I hope that the fans enjoyed it and that I can give them many more. Thank you to everyone.”

Moto3: Miguel Oliveira Finished in the 8th Place in French GP
The fifth round of the MotoGP World Championship at Le Mans, France ended today with the 8th place for the Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira. After a weekend with an unusual qualification due to tricky condition, where riders only had a few laps because of the rain, the rider of Almada did a very solid race.
Despite having some problems with the gearbox, the Portuguese rider was able to give a fight and came to the gate of podium as along the race recovered several positions. Despite the difficulties, the rider of Almada managed to turn in a good pace, keeping the lap time similar to the opponents. At the end of the race Miguel Oliveira crossed the finish line in 8th place, in spite of feeling that it could have been much better result.
The rider of Red Bull KTM Ajo had made a good start and managed to have a stable and constant performance marked by his good pace. However, when the race reached 7 laps to the end, he eventually lost some positions that prevented to keep in the fight for winning.
“It was a difficult Grand Prix. During the race I did not quite have enough of a good feeling with the rear to open the throttle early. I was fighting at the front, but six or seven laps before the end I ran wide and it was difficult to regain ground. After the practice sessions and the warm-up, the race was a little disappointing. I know we can be higher up,” he explained.
Miguel Oliveira who is representing Portugal in Moto3 World Championship also stated that he is already focused on the next round that takes place at Mugello, Italy on 29, 30 and 31 May.
“Now we have to look ahead to the next race and continue going forward with our work to fight for the top positions.”
