Gendered parenting is so weird. As a little kid I was a total daddy's girl, I was told I would always try to sneak into the garage, I was always very interested in everything he was doing and would follow him around while he was working, but while my family was never the type to outright say "you can't do that because you're a girl", they simply didn't entertain the idea that I could possibly be interested in cars. Then when my little brother was born, it was just assumed he would become a mechanic like our dad because he was a boy. Even though he, unlike me, didn't like being in the garage much and wasn't all that interested in what dad was doing. Once he got to a certain age, dad started making him help and would drag him away from his actual interests for it, which lead to a lot of arguing and not much actual learning.

Gendered expectations sort of create doubles of children. There's the real child with their actual personality, interests and behaviors, and then there's the Gender Child.

My real brother hated soccer and team sports. The Gender Child that existed only the minds of the adults in his life needed to play soccer because that's what a Boy Child does.

Growing up, I always felt like adults didn't actually know me as a person and they weren't interested in getting to know me. Because they felt they'd already learned everything there was to know about me when they were told "it's a girl".

When I talk about how I never got gifts I actually liked from my relatives (to this day I still don't like getting gifts that aren't something I picked out myself), it isn't actually about the gifts themselves. I don't even remember them. What I do remember is the feeling of being given gifts that were seemingly not bought with the real me in mind. They were for the Girl Child™️ version of me. The me that adults wanted me to be, not who I actually was.

my theories about Ninjago Dragons Rising:

now that I finally watched all the episodes, I can finally talk about the various theories I have about it:

Arin is the element of Hope

I know that this mighty not make sense, but after part 2 of season 2 we saw that everything can be a power. I formulated this theory during season 1, because there was a lot of talk about hope. But right now I think that it dosen't work anymore. Beside I feel conflicted about the idea of Arin being special. But I will talk about this later.

Ras is a melanistic tiger

Theory that I made when we saw a piece of his backstory, since he was alone and sad and etc. I also though that he mighty have been bullied when he was young. This theory of mine was debunked in episode 39, since they have showns the existence of other black tigers.

Chima mighty appear later in the show, maybe

I know that everone is already theorizing about this, thanks to Ras, but while watching I strated to have some doubts about it.

First of all, Ras come from the Wyldness, and if I remember right the wyldness is the land that is down the island of Chima. But what we will (or not) see in the future is not what we expect.

This one dialogue make me fear that maybe all the people of Chima got destroyed by the Forbiden Five, but maybe not. What if the island of Chima is floating exaclty because they were trying to escape from the Forbiden Five? Only time will tell if we are going to see the characters from Legends of Chima ever again (and it all depends if they writers can touch that IP or not)

Frak will join the ninja team

from what we can see here, Frak followed the ninjas

I remember him sayin that he was "saved" by Ras, so we don't know if Frak is still with his family or not. So joining the ninja mighty be good for him (and for Sora, since he need someone to help her now that Arin is away)

Zeatrix will help the ninjas in the future

Even if Zeatrix act in a insufferable way, she dosen't feel like she's being super evil or that want to destroy the ninja. Otherwise she wouln't have even bothered to say "sorry" (I know that his dialogue don't feels like it, but she tried at least) I think that she is just (spoiled and) bitter about losing everything she had. Even the satisfaction of dealing with Beatrix herself.

Ras's Master Is a Source Dragon

I know that there are probably no clues about who Ras's Master may be, but I have this strange feeling about them being one of the Source Dragons, maybe someone who was banished and Is planning revenge

Arin is the key of the story

I was going to write that is since the first part of season 2 that the writers are teasing something with Arin, but also not. In season 1 his ninja suit featured some sort of horns in it. Kind of strange choice If you ask me. But maybe is salso because his friendship with Riyu.

Or is it?

With Ras telling Arin that he has a lot of potential, at first I thought that he was saying that only to take him away from the ninjas, or that maybe Ras saw himself in Arin (when he was young and weak) But what if there’s more?

The object spinjitsu seems like something only Arin can do. While his incomplete spinjitsu was orange, we see that the “perfect” from is more prone to gold.

Also there was this strange focus on the seven headed dragon…wich is orange.

Maybe im just seeing things, since this make more sense in my mind. This can mean both everything and nothing at all, because the writing always changes over time.

As last, but not less important, like I was saying before, I feel conflicted about Arin being special or some sort of chosen one, because it would be way more poweful and postive the message that everyone can be special if they work hard enough. Or even that Arin became powerfull thanks to pure sheer will.
