More or less an addition to the post I just reblogged. I will start this off with saying I'm a COCSA and incestuous sexual assault survivor/victim/whatever the fuck you want to say. I don't mind sharing this, because it's not something antis can use against me.

I say this because antis piss me the ever loving fuck off. It was not ao3 fanfics that abused me, my cousin did. It was not the noncon x reader fic I read on Tumblr that abused me, my friend's brother did.

Why do antis victim blame and act like they don't? What I read had no bearing on what happened to me. Why do antis protect abusers and act like they don't? My attackers had/have no idea what "fanfic" even is.

I need more people to call it out for what it is. It will always be victim blaming and protecting abusers. They can pretend it isn't, but no rewording or rephrasing can change it at its heart.

Drives me nuts trying to talk about how demonized and/or overlooked non-BPD personality disorders are and people always respond with "but BPD is demonized too" or "this but BPD" or "yeah no-one understands BPD".

Listen.

You have so many spaces where you can have those conversations. you are the most well known, well researched, socially acceptable (in comparison to the others) personality disorder. of course there's still stigmatization, especially in clinical spaces (although it's extremely romanticized outside of those). but the issues faced by pw/BPD are discussed extremely often and BPD has improved drastically in terms of awareness and acceptance. there are so many spaces to discuss BPD and the issues faced by pw/BPD, whereas the majority of people couldn't even name a cluster A or cluster C personality disorder with a gun to their head.

The rest of us get literal fucking crumbs. we are demonized and under researched, and it's extremely common for people to argue that our disorders do not exist in the first place and should be removed from the DSM. we have no movement and most of us have made zero progress towards better understanding. and we are suffering because of it. because there aren't treatments for our disorders, because professionals are not taught to understand us, because the general public either sees us as irredeemable monsters or non-existent.

Let us have our conversations.

Proship culture is please i am begging fellow proshippers to stop being such massive hypocrites. It’s bad to harass minors, yes even if they themselves harass people. They’re a child, they want to feel in control and morally correct. Being condescending won’t solve that, they’ll learn eventually.

hi! i am a paraphile. we need to talk about paraphilias.

the big three are the ones most people know. aka, pedophilia, zoophilia, and necrophilia.

some people (if not most) do not want to be attracted to this. it is a result of trauma and a survival mechanism made up by the human mind.

not every paraphile wants to act on their impulses. most dont. but because these disorders are so stigmatized, they often cannot get the help they need or want to get better at managing it.

i do not believe animals, children, or anything dead can consent. this is upheld by the law and the moral code of human nature-- protect kids and animals, respect the dead, dont harm them.

some people act these out via kink. which is okay as long as it is done safely and consentually.

there are certain paraphilias that are completely harmless. some people are attracted to rain, some are attracted to plushies.

i myself am an autoassasinophile. i find being close to death or injured very very attractive. i deal with this via my partners. they both help me out, with consent and safety measures in place. i am allowed to stop anytime i want, and so are they.

paraphiles arent evil. they are people too, and deserve to be treated as such. the more we encourage the destigmatization, the more people can get help and manage these impulses better. its not normal for these thoughts to be ocurring, but they can be managed.

be nice. you dont know what happened or what is happening to someone.
